So many teams loading the box and blitzing us and I was just wanting simple hot routes, simple quick out, hitch and slant routes and instead we get Holgorsen. This is so much better than what I was believing Rhule would actually do this season yet. Hope is alive again, trust restored for the moment, GBR!

We have two 6'4" WRs, a 6'6" TE, 3 RBs and a 5 star QB. This should be easy, right? I hope he can figure this out. I have a stomach ache from all the kool-aid I've had this year. GoBigRed! Husker for life...

I think someone drop acid or shroom in my cool-aid cause I was very delusional what I thought was gonna happen

Two 6’4” wideouts that can’t/won’t block. A 6’6” TE that’s career game is 6 catches. A five * QB that has regressed to maybe a three. Certainly not easy.

@Nickeltoe77 Not for Satt but it should be for a good OC.

When opposing D backs are laughing at our route combinations, it’s hard to blame the wr’s or the QB. the blocking is absolutely on the players

As a WVU fan, I think this is an awesome hire. Say what you want about Dana as a head coach or as a person in general, but no doubt he’s an offensive mastermind & you guys are in for some fireworks. I miss the days when he was at WVU and even in games where we were a major underdog we would still put up 45.

Good comment about setting up plays;….we’ve been playing chess but it’s been 300 Elo

I havent rewatched the UCLA game but it seamed alot of time we had large formations and passed out of them and UCLA did long developing blitzes and we just didnt have the speed or route concepts to get open and it looked ugly. Im sure its been like this all year and teams have film now and know how to stop us. I dont think the offense can be reworked at this point but different formations and playcalls hopefully can create more space with personel and aggressive playcalling like Rhule mentioned.

    Simplify the offense.

I guess the real question is does the QB have the freedom to check out of a play call if he sees something. You don’t really know what play is good to run until you see what defense they’re lining up in that’s when you rely on the cerebral game of the QB. and regardless of who you bring in as the OC there has to be trust, freedom, and execution. And there has to be a buy in that no matter what.”Do your job”

Hopefully Holgerson won’t let Dylan flounder around and throw a check down every play.
Hopefully we’ll take advantage of all the talent we have instead of just running them ragged every play and never getting them the ball.

It’s going to be an experiment especially if there is some success and he leaves for a head coaching job???? I think that could create some unique problems. Definitely he’s an upgrade with past offensive rankings and coaching experience but if he leaves how does that help?

Well you obviously go hire a full time OC not that hard. Not having Satterfield calling play is the help
