can we just appreciate how every person in The Owl House can draw a perfect circle
Plot Twist: Luz has been using magic this whole time to draw perfect circles
I would die in minutes.
Just like Spongebob can, just without drawing the fully detailed face then erasing all the details!

How to tell if you are watching a modern cartoon:
Do the characters go through extreme traumatic situations on the regular?
Are said characters actual literal children who should not have to deal with said trauma?

A quick counterpoint with Lilith's "redemption" arc.
First of all, It's definitly not done yet. Lilith's entire motivation through Season 1 was atoning for her mistakes without having to stand up to them. All she wanted was to cure Eda's curse, so the moment that Belos pulled the run out from under her, she instantly swapped sides because her motive hasn't changed.
And Second, She's definitly not hunky dory with Luz, Eda, and King. Luz straight up says she doesn't trust her, but only agrees to her help out of desperation. And in the final scene with the four of them, Lilith's always standing to the side or distancing herself from Eda and Luz.
She still has a ways to go in S2
Lilith has paid a price in her standing with Belos, and she’s suffering the curse she put on her sister. She’s not dead or in the hands of Belos, but she has had a massive serving of humble pie. The three things she prized most were making it up to Eda, her position as head of the emperor coven and her magical ability. She’s lost two of the three and the other one will be a long uphill battle. It was by sharing the curse on herself she showed remorse and desire to make things right, important steps of a redemption arc.
Perfectly Summarized.
@@jbcatz5 love how you and the original commenter put it!! i agree

I also appreciate the way they’d casually add lgbtqa+ couples aside from Amity and Luz throughout the show. For example Willows two dad and the gay couple dancing in the grom episode. They don’t make a point to unnecessarily bring it up and let you see it for yourself instead.
this is such a good point, there was never a moment where I felt like some corperate exec was going "look its GAAAAAAAY, money please" like so many other examples given, just truly casual moments that make the world feel real.

Tired: "Amity is like Pacifica Northwest"
Wired: "Amity is lesbian Diana Cavendish"
@@whitherwhence You appear to have accidentally written "lesbian Diana Cavendish" instead of "Diana Cavendish".
I think the best part about this show is the support that the creator Dana Terrace and the fanbase have for one another, working together against Disney to try to make sure that they get their way with the lesbian plotline between Luz and Amity. Partially because it's like a comfort hobby that they're sharing with one another during the pandemic, and I find that to be respectful and extremely wholesome. And I'm going to miss that when the show ends next year with the three specials.
I think the reason why fanbase and Dana are working together on Lumity is because of how good it is written and how well it represents. I fucking hate most gay characters in TV shows and Movies because thats all they ever talk about, and its their whole personality. Being gay.
But when its done good like Lumity, you don't even click they are gay, because the relationship is just that, a relationship with the added detail of them being gay. And its also that they actually fit one another, and they have a good chemistry.
This represents gay couples really well and its fun to watch. Its not in your face, just there and intergraded. 10/10 couple
Oh yea forgot to add, that they have a healthy comunication with one another. Misinterpretation is treated as a fun moment that they will laugh about in the end, when there is a problem, they talk it out instead of fighting and bring jelaous and stuff like that. I love this couple even more because of that.

I really enjoy The Owl House, to me it is about on the same level of quality as the stronger parts of SVTFOE and the weaker episodes of Ducktales 2017. I do not like one thing about the show though, people acting like Lumity is the only reason that it is good (and some forgettable characters here and there). In the show Lumity is such a well made set up and well made love story, but people act as if it is the sole reason the show is good, not acknowledging how great of a job the animators did in so many scenes, the great comedy, and the score. This is overall one of the single best cartoons currently on right now, and I think this show is just continuing Disney's great run of cartoons.
I recommend Its Rebecca Rose’s videos on the series. Even beyond the Lumity stuff she does a lot of consideration for the show as a whole
I’ve met people like that, but it’s usually more that they’re excited about a well written lgbt relationship being put into an amazing show. They usually don’t not recognise the rest they’re just super happy they have representation finally.
Yeah, all the talk of LGBT+ representation and inclusivity, the fact that the main character is a Latina whos main character trait isn't "being Latina" is great and well deserved, but the focus on that detracts from just how good every single other aspect of the show is. Not to say those things aren't great or don't deserve praise - they do - but I just wonder how many people have written off watching it because they assume from the response that it's "pandering".
This is pretty much how I think as well. It's honestly sad that so many of the show's great qualities are overshadowed by the discussion surrounding representation. I'm all for well implemented representation in media, and I'm glad TOH is providing that. But I feel like the reputation might turn people away because they think it's preachy or some shit, considering so much of the discussion around this show is emphasising the LGBTQ+ aspects above all else.

There's a theory that he IS actually Bill Cipher. When Bill called upon the Axolotl God to survive, they say that God reincarnated him into this little guy
Edit : to all those who seem the believe I want there to be a "continuation", no. I don't. I don't want a full cameo, I don't think it would benefit the idea. The idea is that this marks the end of Bill altogether. You all think that he was destroyed when in reality he wasn't, nothing about the ending of Gravity Falls suggests he was fully destroyed, and his final prayer to the axolotl worked. I didn't make that up, he literally prayed to the Axolotl God in his final moments, asking that he may return again. A lot of people were hyped that this mean a continuation but I was hoping that wouldn't be so because Gravity Falls ended perfectly. But then this theory came out that maybe instead of the Axolotl reviving him, he reincarnated him in a new dimension, a new universe, in the body of a creature that will not be able to be as harmful as Bill once was, essentially nerving his power and taking away any remembrance of his past life whilst still fulfilling his wish. He's no longer Bill. He's a new being, a new character, with the reincarnated soul of a once all powerful God who no longer exists, effectly ending Bills story without making all the hints seem like a loose thread. There is an ending, a fate that befell the once great Bill, and that is to become the ashes that a new demon rose from, in an entirely new world.
Well, that means that he can't do any harm anymore!
@Isaiah Stovall I read that in his voice and I have no regrets lmao
I hope this doesn't become true. I'm fine with Bill's death, and Gravity Falls end.
That theory is so stupid. It is because the voice actor is using the B.C voice for King? 😒
@@laurenmungaray3912 not just that. Like I said, in the actual show Gravity Falls, Bill Cipher calls upon the Axolotl God (a real God more powerful than Time Baby with a history with Bill) so that he may return again, during his last moments of speaking backwards. This was also concerning when Grunkle Stan got his memories back, when the whole point was that they had to erase him with Bill. If Stan came back, and Bill made that plea before hand?
Then you add on that this new character in this other show doesn't just have the exact same voice but also a demon who has a thirst for power and chaos but happens to be powerless now too, and you got God granting Bill's wish without it having to be a continuation of the plot! Honestly I believe it's probably the best ending for his character ever. He reincarnated, just as he wanted, but he has no memory of it and he's been reset into a world of chaos where he's a harmless demon.
I was afraid Alex was going to resurrect him and continue the story line, which would have been stretching a perfect ending. This just wraps up that final lose end.
And he lived happily ever after, in a world where he no idea he ever had a different dream, content without ever hurting a soul again.

I only wish you didn’t constantly bring up/compare it to Gravity Falls almost exclusively. It’s important to compare and contrast, but it almost felt like you were implying at points that “it’s no Gravity Falls, but it’s still cool.”
Also mentioning Dana Terrace’s connection to Alex Hirsch along with the constant parallels to GF being made makes it feel like it exclusively highlights how Hirsch’s show influenced TOH, and takes away from Terrace’s own accomplishments.
Regardless, I still loved hearing your thoughts on the show’s plot and its characters. I agree that Lilith’s arc towards the end was a bit rushed, even if I do think that the backstory as for *why* she cursed Eda was decent enough. Honestly wish the show dedicated some more time to it, or approached it differently.
Nonetheless, super excited for season 2, and to hopefully see you two talk about it again !!
I mean it is...
I agree !! I think it should be analyzed as it's own separate piece of media apart from Gravity Falls as a standalone show
It is extremely similar to Gravity Falls in tone, setting, humor, characters, art style, voice cast and most importantly, quality. The comparisons are warranted.

Another Kids show that I LOVE is Lego Ninjago. It has deep lore, likable characters, and a large fan base. The show is still going on today strong even though it’s been 10 years/15 seasons. Not a lot of shows can do that. Give it a chance guys, it’s great!
As someone who still watchs to this day i can agree, i thought the show ended after season 6 then i came back and watched 8-10, the newer seasons will never be the originals but it has alot of great moments for characters especially, giving character target seasons, like 13 and 15 and giving us even more lore. The call backs always put I tear to my eye, knowing that after the reboot the past seasons still happened, the side characters also get moments to shing, but due to a large cast of main characters the fact we still get side characters plots is great, some villains are better than others, out of all the seasons 4 will always be my favorite, a whole cast of new characters and lore, the whole power Elemental, are really well done it's just Lloyd's I have a problem with
Plus we get a new style of fighting completely unique to the show, the fight scene animation can be done so well with camera movement, the theme song slaps, Wu is a sass king and the four original Ninjago will always hold a special place with in my list of favorite characters, but there are some plots that are useless and don't go anywhere (nya, cole and jays love triangle)
I loved early seasons of ninjago. I think the last one I watched seriously was like season 4 or 5. I haven't really caught up with the show. The plot seems all over the place now. At least to me
A problem with a lot of modern Disney shows is that I feel like they try to piggyback off of Gravity Falls success. Most noticeable case is Big City Greens. Owl House manages to capture some of that creativity we all loved in Gravity Falls because it’s allowed to be creative due to returning to fantasy

He makes a video titled "Why you should watch the owl house", therefore targetting people who havent seen it and then literally basically tells the people who havent seen it to stop watching at 3:20
2 years ago, I would never even think about this show. Now, I consider it the magnum opus of the Disney Channel. A true masterpiece that should be remembered for generations to come
Was gonna write it off as one of those "House" shows.
That transition from Hooty to VPN was smooth.
Yeeees, give me that Infinity Train review! If you did a review to this series, the amount of attention and fan engagement would be gigantic, and it would be the next step forward to the show's renewal! #RenewInfinityTrain #FinishInfinityTrain
Happy birthday Patrick ❤❤❤ I choke up when I watch these vids
Dana is a wonderful woman who just wants to see the world cry 😭
I’m here because I’m still waiting for Season 2 to come out.
Same
I think it's heavily implied that the reason the Emperor has such a hard time catching Eda, has more to do with Lilith hoping and believing that it can happen peacefully. That Eda will agree to join the Emperor's Coven and nobody actually has to get hurt. Despite her genuine efforts to capture Eda and bring her to justice, equally important is her guilt over the curse and her desire for Eda to join the Coven unharmed.
I also quite like the way The Emperor is written. He doesn't explicitly say "haha, I lied to you the whole time!" he presents it as, you have done as I asked, but my word is law and I will do as I wish. His entire playbook is textbook historical authoritarian. My first impression was actually how cool it was that a cartoon dictator essentially invoked "it is the will of god" as his justification, considering how many historical totalitarian regimes have been founded on that same principle. It feels a lot more accurate to human nature than the way most fantasy dictators are written.
The show it pretty good fucking written, i agree with you but i think Lilith had such a hard time catching Eda because she knew she was happy with her friends and didnt really wanted to ruin her life more
Belos is literally lawful evil
It's pronounced a bit more like "Loose," but you're doing good! Also, her name means "Light," and the first spell she learns is creating balls of light.
If Schaf likes The Owl House then he's going to LOVE Amphibia.
Amphibia, in my opinion, is the show that inherited Gravity Falls' style of humor the best because OMG it is hilarious. London from Suite Life voices the main character and Bill Farmer voices the obligatory elderly caretaker.
Happy birthday Patrick!
My one complaint about the Owl house it’s that it wasn’t available on Disney plus until recently.
Good thing I have DisneyNow, since I'm able to view the episodes hours before they air on TV.
Schaff : "I am not super into of Eda"
The Fandom : "yeah, I'd like an owl beast curse in a scroll and 2 elixirs locked tight in a bottle, just in case"
was it not that pappy guy who said that
To be fair King’s voice is more “weh!” than Bill’s
That’s surprisingly accurate. The perfect description.
I have a single phrase in mind:
"Wow, Sports😖"
That's it ..... Now go watch it.
"Wow... sports 🍅"
“Wow...... Spooorrrtttssssss 😳😳😳”
Me? On a team with... YOU?

I GOTTA GO.
I’m gonna be honest this video literally changed my life I’m not even kidding without this show I wouldn’t have discovered this show when I did hence not meeting my friends so thank you mr schaffrillas
I probably wouldn't have found this amazing show if I hadn't been the editor for this video. I LOVE MY JOB!

I was skeptical about the series, but it won me over so fast. I really loved it, and I hope they do come out with a second season. The characters are pretty good and the story has potential.
Oh boi, you must not really know what’s coming on June 12th of *THIS YEAR* don’t ya...🙂🙃
@Jojo May
So how’s Season 2 going for you? If you ask me they’ve been remarkably efficient
wooooooooooooo you watched yet?
Holy shit I never expected Schaff to cover this show. It’s great
Schaff, glad to see you upload another video. And also, Shrek's 20th Anniversary was yesterday, so happy Shrekiversary!!!
I'm halfway through the show and I'm just waiting on my FUCKIN SIBLINGS TO WATCH IT WITH ME-
Lol I made my brother watch it with me and now he really likes it (did the same with the dragon prince too lol. Good show to check out btw.)
get them to watch ep 16 and ep 17
"This show is okay."
"This show is awful."
"This show is really good."
All these conflicting opinions make me have no idea what to think of this show
Let's just say "the show has the potential to be good". I don't want to automatically say it's good because it's only on its first season and as of recently, I've been seeing shows that started out great but in later seasons, it becomes disappointing like Star vs The Forces of Evil, Voltron (2018), and Steve Universe. So, let just wait and see what the Owl House has in store for season 2.
It's ok to form your own opinion, or not even have an option
Watch it for yourself and form your own opinion. Personally for me, I wouldn't say much about it being good or bad yet bc it's just season 1.
@@lukaluka_seraph3562 Yeah, you're right
@Hexproof Project Yeah, I heard there were weird story and writing choices throughout the show... that and the people who I know who have watched the show only tell me to watch it because of the main Lumity ship... I dunno about you but shipping in general just gets on my nerves so even if the show is actually interesting, the whole shipping thing is really gonna turn me off
That mr krabs challenger approaching thing was hilarious 😂
Cause it's a great Subversion of expectations. 😁👌

Literally my most anticipated RUclips video rn
happy birthday patrick 💓
very gud vibeo
Damn I was wondering what you were going to think about this video
I was wondering what you thought about this vid
I pretty much agree with everything here except the belos point, He’s supposed to the false prophet and a liar because that’s how he got into power
also if you look at the aesthetics surrounding him and the emperors coven there is a strangely mechanical feel that is rather at odds with the one other instance of someone "speaking to the titan" where Luz needed to be fully immersed in nature to learn her second spell. Every little clue suggests that he is lying about something/everything
@@milorobbins-zust7928 - Yeah, his relationship with his followers is very clearly a cult mentality rather than anything that should be assumed as "honest". "The Titan wills it" is just code for, "I really want you to do this".
Lowkey wanna see Schaff's opinion on Amphibia in the future
YES.
I came here faster than Eda got cursed once I saw the notification. Oof lol.
I look forward to your thoughts on Infinity Train, because you are absolutely right in saying it is a lot to digest.
I mean my profile picture is Amity, how can I not tell you to watch the show? So please, go watch it! It’s so good!
To be fair the voice acting being monotoned even in emotional moments makes alot of sense when considering she has a relatively debilitating chronic illness
The Owl House, Amphibia and Big City Greens are the holy trinity of Disney Channel cartoons right now.
I love those shows, but I feel like Big City Greens is the most underrated out of the three shows.
Lol no the owl house isn't that good
Go watch cartoonshi's video for my reasoning because he gets it perfectly
More people need to watch big city greens
It is so underrated
@@michaelstrong5383 probably because it's just a family trying to get use to living in a big city it's a good show but pretty barebone when compared to the other 2
Big city greens is pretty bad in my opinion and owl house is kinda flawed in parts haven't watched amphibia
Amphibia anyone? Amphibia is a amazing show, not alot of people don't really watch it...
Yea I like it
Better then this shit show
IT'S SO GOOD
HELL YEAH I LOVE THIS SHOW!
P.S also I suggest watching a show on Netflix call The Dragon Prince, it was created by one of the head writers for Avatar the Last Airbender
Owl house is good but I wish some of my commentary channels would talk about amphibia more 😭
I kinda like amphibia more than owl house I feel like I’m the only one who feels this way haha.
Ps. Watch cartoonish review of the show he pretty much said all the reason why I don’t like the owl house that much
Nah amphibia is leagues above this shit show
@@badasscrusader and another...
Tbh I like both equally
Amphibia is wayyy better
I like both
never thought i’d see the day where there would be an owl house video on this channel (not to mention a positive video about it), now he’s gotta watch amphibia
I'm actually friends with someone who was part of the animation team for this show, and I'm really glad to see it get noticed!
0:29 Would LOVE to see you cover that show though. Exposure would help it potentially get a renewal.
Honestly, we are in a golden age of animated shows. It started with Phineas and Ferb, and gave us Gravity Falls, Ducktales, Big City Greens, this one ans Amphibia. Other than the first two, Ducktales is my personal favorite.
And yet, not a lot of people are paying attention to them :/
But don't forget, there's also Teen Titans Go, Powerpuff Girls 2016, The Legend of Korra and other shows that are pretty horrible
Big City Greens is a major low *meh.* And I can’t get into Amphiba. Maybe season two is great, but if you can’t hook them in season one is it really amazing?
@@CeCeBookworm07 i disagree. Big city greens is really funny to me
@@WarCrimeGaming bruh
Im so mad that Viney shows up and then leaves after 1 episode because my crush on her was immediate 😔
I watched the whole show just so I could finish this video. It took a week, but I'm here.
I really really loved this. Far more than I expected. I'm so glad they went in the directions they did. I truly hope that the second season is as good as the first.
As of right now it really feels like season two is already improving on top of the already amazing season one, I’ve really enjoyed every single episode of season two so far
Kung Fu Panda 3 is the best in the franchise. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (the favorite of most people), Lord Shen attacked the panda village, but there was nobody to save them. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. You cannot say that's not the most beautiful thing. It's genius. I really thought the action and comedy was the best in this movie too. When Po gave Kai the chi, he didn't exactly give it to Kai. He gave it to the masters that he took the chi from. That's why the masters were freed and why Kai yelled "Wait, that's too much!" Also, at the beginning, Oogway told Kai "The more you take, the less you have." Then what happens? Kai dies from taking too much. Also, Po was taught kung fu with food. Then he taught the village of pandas with their talents. The whole "turn you into you" thing wasn't a callback to the beginning of the movie, it was a callback to Kung Fu Panda 1. Most people like Shen the most, but Kai is actually the best villain. He may not have been intimidating, but he had really great villain lines. When Shifu said "Oogway, forgive me." Kai held up the chi of Oogway and said "What do you say, Oogway? Do you forgive him?" Also, his music was obviously the best villain music in existence. Not to mention his weapon, fight style, or entrances. I don't need to talk about comedy, action, or animation. Everyone already agrees that comedy, action, and animation in Kung Fu Panda 3 is better than in first two movies. A lot of people complain that the Furious Five didn't do much but I think I need to remind people that this movie is in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Not "The Adventures of the Furious Five", because Po is the main character. I don't get how people think this is the worst or second best in the franchise. I think it's better than Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 combined.
ok i guess that makes sense
sir this is a review of owl house
