Not a bad demonstration, except you have the order of removing and replacing the terminals reversed. You remove the NEGATIVE terminal first and replace it last. This prevents you from completing an electrical circuit when removing or working anywhere near the positive terminal. What's interesting about this generation of the Cruze is that the battery tray accommodates several different sizes of battery. The same tray is used in the diesel version, so theoretically you could have replaced your battery with the one that fits the diesel, though that battery is significantly larger, heavier, and more expensive than the one you replaced.
I liked an important step about not shorting out the positive terminal. I tend to forget that. The arc sure wakes me up. Plus it is dangerous due to the possible gases leaking from battery
This was the easiest video to understand and it the guy did it right attaching the ground (black) cable first not red to new battery as I was taught. He warns you about metal wrenches hitting metal on the car frame it will spark which scares me, so tighten screws carefully. I was about to run to my granddaughters University to jump or replace her battery and it has been 7 or 8 years since I have done this so helped me a lot. Thank-you!
to quote the dummy series book. Look in your owner’s manual to see whether your vehicle has negative ground (most do). If it does, use an adjustable wrench to first loosen the nut and bolt on the clamp that holds the battery cable on the negative terminal. (That’s the post with the little “-” or “NEG” on it.) If your vehicle has positive ground, loosen the cable with “+” or “POS” on it first. Remove the cable from the post and lay it out of your way. Then remove the other cable from its post and lay that aside.

I am a female with no car experience. I followed your instructions to a tee and my Cruze started right up when I was done! Great instructions!!
Thanks! Was dreading changing mine today, but this helped and was done in less than 30 minutes in -12 degrees!

Always take the negative off first !
Para extraer, primero se desconecta el terminal negativo, y para colocar la batería se conecta primero el terminal positivo para evitar cortocircuitos
Thank you! I am not a car guy and this helped!
Does changing the battery throw any codes?
No. It shouldn't.
Does it mess with the key fob cause mine isnt recognizing my keys
I didn't have any issue. It sounds like you may need to take it to a dealer and have it reset.
First thing is you do not touch the Positive side post until you have removed the Negative post side first
I recommend you get AutoCraft Platinum AGM Battery, Group Size H6, 760 CCA that’s what I have on my 2015 Cruze the oem batteries are bad.
Ruben 2x what about AC DELCO AGM?
Thanks. This is exactly what I needed.
Thank u mr blue guitar student
first thing u do when going take battery out is take negative post of first, not the positive???
You put the ground on last.
Thanks for this
Thanks so much! what a pain in the ass!

Backasswards cable removal.
NOT Bad! But remove POSITIVE Terminal FIRST!!!
