Hi guys!
Thanks for stopping by, well I've finally hit over 100 videos uploads now 😃
Today I'm using a 12" square deep edged canvas.
Pillow is some previous scrapings that I've collected and British Paints White (so my actual colour is a very pale grey) mixed with GAC 800.
Colours:
Self mixed metallic orange
Primary Elements Interference Red
#TLP Lemon Sorbet
TLP Rave
Golden Quinacridone Azo Nickel Gold
Golden Cobalt Teal
All colours mixed with untinted house paint and Jo Sonja gloss varnish.
Please see video #92 for how I mix my colours (pigments and tubes).
• (92) How I Mix My Pain...
No silicone added.
TLP (This Little Piggy) pigments can only be purchased from fluid-art.co/
Primary Elements pigments can be purchased at www.colourarte...
My CA is a mixture of Amsterdam Lamp Black and Amsterdam Metallic Graphite with Australian Floetrol (I don't measure I mix to a consistency of a steady stream when drizzled with a faint trace).
How you can help me keep producing videos:
Subscribe to my channel, hit the thumbs up button (if you like it) and share the video with your friends. Please try and watch the entire video, I try and always keep my videos below 20 minutes. I have a tip jar, it's definitely not expected but if you'd like to tip any small amount would be greatly appreciated and will go towards buying more paint supplies. Thanks in advance it's: paypal.me/Nikidfluidart
My style has changed and evolved dramatically since I took the Sheleeart E-Course and I can't recommend it enough!
If you too would like to evolve your art and find your own style using knowledge gained from taking the course, head over to sheleeart.com.au/ and use my discount code of sheleeart15NDA to receive a 15% discount from the E-Course.
Once joined you will get access to the private Sheleeart Facebook group where Shelee hosts regular live video classes, your learning will be unending!
My lazy susan is glass and 20'' which was purchased from Coles supermarket, they can also be sourced from variety/dollar stores. The heavier the spinner, the easier it will spin, I'd also suggest you get the largest one you can so you can easily use it for larger substrates too.
My metal spatulas are artist knives, the smaller ones are from Mont Marte and the large one I use sometimes is a brand called The Art Studio and was bought from an independent art store.

This is so amazingly gorgeous to me - I love abstract wroks and you have taken fluid acrylic pour to a new level. WOW Just wow - love all the colors and if you don't mind my asking did you just load the knife with black before swiping?? You are so talented. Do you have a website?
Thank you Karla 😀❤️ Yes, whatever colour is the 'cell activator' is applied first, then colours on top of that
This! This is what a want to be able to do. Beautiful work! Thanks for replying to a comment on a FB group. It's how I found you!
Thank you and you're welcome! 😀💙
So beautiful! I am brand new to this style of painting. I would love an absolute beginners teaching video. Things like what surfaces are recommended, tools preferred to use like type of spinning wheel, torch used, pallet knives, sticks (do you recommend wood or plastic - why?) the base paint used for coverage, do you use any sealer? How big of an area is needed to do this type of art...how messy, drying time expectations down to how you clean up after. Common mistakes new people make... Thank you so much for sharing your talent and your time. ♥
Thank you 😀💙 I list everything I use in my description box, including my lazy Susan. I like silicone stirring sticks as paint peels off - the link to them is in my description box.
My pillow paint is listed in my description box, but obviously is only available in Australia.
Everyone has a preference as to their favourite substrate, I prefer canvases but do paint on MDF too. If painting on MDF as long as it's around 12mm thick you won't need to prime it first. If painting on wood you definitely need to prime it (not with gesso that won't seal it). Either a proper wood sealer to make it waterproof or you can varnish it first (matt or satin). Otherwise it will warp.
Again, tools used are ones you feel comfortable with. Once you begin you'll find out which you like as everyone likes different ones.
Yes it's a very very messy art form! Drying time is different as to where you live in the world and the season. Where I am in summer they may dry in 24 hours, in winter may be 48 hours or longer
I'm learning I just poured a. Guitar body for a friend in blacklight I'm hooked
Ooh sounds cool! 😀
I love it but you named it after a flower that you can poison people with. 😂 I am a bit tired today which is normal. When you were taking the spots of paint out of the white I saw you missed three. No, they were on my screen. A bit later I thought I would turn your spinner a bit and just as I touched my screen you moved it to where I wanted it. Then I realised I must be more tired than usual. I can’t make your spinner move but it was fun for the second I thought I could. If I was allowed to drink I would have one. Thank you. ❤️
🤣 That made me laugh Karen! Thank you 💜 Well often the poisonous ones are the bright colourful ones 😀
Gorgeous. I can't hear you at all. Please pull your mike closer. The music is fine, but I'd love to hear what you're saying
Thank you 😊 💜 I've just watched this, I only talk for the final one minute of the video - I actually had to turn my volume down when I listened as it was loud? 😂
I love all your work, every single piece. I’ll see a piece I’m attracted to and then low and behold it says Niki D. Well of course.
Thank you so very much Sharon! 😀 💙
Awesome! What are you doing with the toothpick?! Is it dipped in anything? Thanks!
Thank you 😊 💜 No it's a wooden skewer I use it to embellish
Beautiful again. Yes, a weird and wonderful flower! You're the best I've seen. Love learning from you. Thanks so much. The colorsand technique. Especially not seeming preoccupied with filling the entire canvas with color or images.
Thank you so much Barbara! 😀💙 Yes generally I love to leave negative space, however, my most recent one (Fluid art/zentangles) is the total opposite lol!
I agree ~~ she is the best I’ve seen as well. Such a peaceful, beautiful soul. 🙏🕉❤
I looked through all your videos, do you have a beginners video?? Or do we just jump in and do what you do??
I don't sorry, I suppose maybe search beginner's acrylic pouring here on RUclips. I just sat and watched videos for hours in the beginning 😊
Sooo beautiful and ethereal. Getting lost in your paintings is a favorite pastime.
Thank you so much! 😁 💖
Awesome👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻🥂🥰🤗
Thank you Kathleen 😀💙
Each of your pieces is more beautiful than the last! Stunning!
Thank you Mary! 😀💜
I love your colors it reminds of the beautiful waters of where u live
Thank you Deborah 😀 💙
Absolutely amazing...love the shapes, colours & cells💗💗💗
Thank you! 😊 💖
Awesome!
Just Beautiful...Just Subscribed !!
Hi and thank you very much! 😀❤️
Absolutely stunning! I love all your artwork, it's really creative and inspirational. I'd love to see your interpretation of a lung dragon with wings. I've been thinking about it for a while and I think your CA swipe and stretch technique would result in a stunning dragon.
Thank you Robin 😊💙 I have done a couple of dragon's already, one a dragon's eye (Pendragon)
@@NikiDArt Oh really? I missed it! I'm going to look for it today! I think of the Lung Dragon as a "benevolent water creature who protects the people". I guess in these turbulent times in the US I'm drawn to themes like this. Thanks Niki!
Niki, this is so beautiful!! The colors are incredible! So vivid! I am such a beginner and I don't want to waste paint so my question to you is, with pigments, do you make paint using water or a base paint or pouring medium? What type paint do you typically use to flood your canvases? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Paige C.
Thank you so much! 😀💖 I usually mix them with an untinted neutral gloss house paint base and a gloss varnish, approx 4:1 (I eyeball it). This is the Sheleeart recipe, there is a 15% discount link in the description box of the video. www.sheleeart.com is the website for more info 😊
The base coat often varies, but I list all the paints used in each specific video in the description box
Absolutely beautiful (again , as always) thanks for sharing 👍
BELLISIMO COMO PUEDO COMPRAR LOS COLORES Y LOS DEMAS MATERIALES
Thank you 😀💙 TLP pigments can be bought from www.fluid-art.co
Super beau
Dommage qu’il n’y pas de sous titre en français ?
Merci ❤️ Il existe des sous-titres pour de nombreuses langues et le français en fait partie
Do you speed your videos up? I am wondering how fast it takes for the cells to form? It looks instantaneous in the videos.
I do speed up some parts so they aren't boring, the cells only take a few seconds to pop
@@NikiDArt Thank you for your reply. When I watch Gina DeLuca, she's always talking about waiting for cells to develop. So, I've tried being patient and waiting. It doesn't seem to make much difference. Other times, the cells pop up immediately. Nothing reliable, though.
Love it Nikki - especially love the area with more black than color!
Thank you Liz 😀💜
Magnificent
Thank you! 😀💙
Your art is a beautiful one of a kind designer always, keep up the magic.😍

Aloha Niki, Your work is gorgeous!!! I love the feeling you create of stained glass colors and ocean swirls. Your drawing is so graceful, and fun to watch. My question is ~~ What is the tool you are using to draw with? Is it a small paintbrush or a wooden stick? Mahalo!!

Thank you so much..
I feel blessed to have come across your work just now. Look forward to seeing so much more.
I love the background music especially when the Piano music started. My son just bought a piano... Lol.
Hi Elizabeth, thank you very much 😀💜 I love butterflies too and it's on my bucket list to learn how to play the piano! My nan had a pianola that I used to play on as a child, I used to bed able to play Silent Night and of course chopsticks lol! I can't read music though!
P.s. did I read a comment where u put CA Black down FIRST (after yiur piLlow)and then the colors on top and then finish with CA to swipe
Hi, I'm sorry I can't remember this piece was created so long ago. All my colours are listed in the description box of the video, maybe that will help explain it 🙂
If I put the colours onto the knife, rather than on the canvas, then yes CA would be on first
it is absolutely beautiful, love it, congrats on your creations
Thank you very much 😀💙

Gorgeous, great job!
Thank you 😀💙
Stunning! 😍💙❤️ Do you have any videos with this technique on a pretty large canvas? In watching this beautiful piece unfold, I became curious as to how well it would work on a large canvas as well.
Thank you 😊 💜 The largest I've done is on a 24" hexagonal, I can't remember the video number, maybe late 50's early 60's?
Video #59. But I've also done quite a few on 12 x 24's and also 20 x 24" and a round 24" too
@@NikiDArt OK cool, I'll check it out for sure! Thanks!
