I’ve been playing flying dragon with my twin brother since we were six years old. Still have the original copy from the 90’s. Fast forward I’m 28 and feeling like dedicating another 90 hours and 50 tournaments to try to complete the item book.
Gah, I used to love playing Flying Dragon on the N64, so this gives me such a nostalgia trip~ My personal favorites back then were Ryuhi, Wiler and Shouryu.
***** Dude, same. It's a real shame this series didn't continue. I'd settle for an eShop release, but a spiritual successor or remaster in HD would blow my mind.
I'd be all over that in mere seconds. If a lot more people knew about it, I remember watching through one of Zero's vids that if there are enough people to send messages to nintendo or all call about the same topic, they'd at least look into making it happen. Heck, it'd be awesome to ask just to bring it over in japanese as is to make their job easier. Sadly it doesn't look like a reality but as you said, it's definitely a shame to see a series that had quite a handful of games up to the 64 end (along with the Super Chinese series which is crossed over with)
I remember when i discovered Yuka's secret special on my own, the last one. I had NO idea what I had entered that made it happen, and I kept trying to replicate it, succeeding maybe 1 in 20 times.. It blew my mind that this already incredibly deep fighting game had even more secrets.
For SD Hiryu no Ken Densetsu? The sequel (Flying Dragon 2). Yeah, the characters have unlockable Alts after you beat the story mode as well as some tournaments.
First mistake was not being released in the US sooner. Hiryu No Ken was made 3 years before the first Street Fighter. It would've also helped if the creators expanded on the background of the characters. Min Min would have been likely to be as popular as Kasumi, Chun Li, and Mirai Shiranui if that were the case
@@upy0ur5 thing is Street Fighter became big on the 2nd one. Hiryu no Ken had no way to compete with Street Fighter 2 at the time, be it on the arcades or the home consoles since the series had no game avaiable during 1991~1992 (I'm kinda keeping JP exclusive launch dates out since the first SNES HnK game released on NA in 1994, two years later.)
My thoughts on the Busters: Ryuhi: The first buster is the Shin Hiryu no Ken, right? So, it just replaces the one he has at the beginning of story mode, or what? Gengai: Basically what I expected from Ryuhi's teacher. Tusk Soldier 1: It's been a while since I've seen your other videos of this game, but why does this guy have the Hiryu no Ken? Hayato: DAT COUNTER GRAB! Also, that punch buster was a OHKO. I know it's your tournament setup, but I wonder how much damage it normally deals. Wiler: Sonic Booms with the feet! Wolf: That bomb takes too long. Does it track the opponent if they move? Min Min's got a Power Geyser! Shouryu: several flavors of Spirit Gun! He also has infinites for days! Masked Man: That was a cheap shot. Perfect for someone who hides his face. Hariya: IZUNA DDT!!! Yuka: Hokuto, your moveset was fine in Street Fighter EX. Why'd you change it? Powers: Tekken's Jack as a wrestler. Demon Kabuki:...meh. Suzaku: the guy's got a Hyakuretsu Ken *and* a Psycho Crusher?! Red Falcon: What's that punch supposed to do? 'Cause later busters start inflicting status effects. Ellie: Who's this? Was she in the story mode? Raima: Also with Sonic Booms! E. Quaker: I can't stop laughing at how ridiculous that voice-clip is. Also, he becomes the largest character in the game for *ABSOLUTELY NO METER*?! Are you serious? Zongerian: ...eh. Ryumaou: Alright! Our big bad for this game. Deals amazing damage and even inflicts poison. Fuzufuu: Since he's Ryumaou in disguise, how does *he* know both versions of the Hiryu no Ken? Did he learn it from being beaten by it the first time? EDIT: Never mind. I looked it up and it turns out he stole all of the scrolls, except the one Ryuhi had. So, one of the scrolls had the technique on it. Shin Ryumaou: Jesus! Now I know why you said to not get hit by one of his busters during your playthrough. The guy must've read Saint Seiya at some point, because he sends you to Another Dimension! Jack: eh, fire twin... Ryu: eh, thunder twin... Gou Fire: has better fire-based busters than Jack. Robonohana: They see him rollin'. They hatin'. Bokuchin: Agh! The voice clips are *so* bad. The busters are quirky, though. Mugen Shirou: That move is *almost* useless. Thorn Ram: Keeping that leg strong. Targun: Same here. Fire Ryuhi outdoes Min Min by having a Triple Geyser. Ice Ryuhi: has also read Saint Seiya, because he has Diamond Dust and Aurora Thunder Attack. Wind Ryuhi: Shoryu Reppa+Shinryuken! He's also got a Criminal Upper/Hurricane Upper. Thunder Ryuhi: Two words: Denjin. Hadouken. Also, nice touch with Hariya, Maksed Kabuki, Mugen, and Targun, showing their Tusk Soldier forms like that.
Ryuhi: Yeah, once you learn the Shin Hiryu no Ken, it replaces his normal one. The only way to use it again is to play as Gengai, his kid self, Ryuhi's master Juan, or the Tusk Soldier I think. Otherwise, if you want it on Ryuhi, you have to start the story mode over...which means you'd have to go through to a certain point to get it back. Gengai: Kinda wished they worked in his moveset from Flying Dragon/Virtua Hiryu no ken. The only one that made it was his animation for his Shogo-ha (shogo-ho?) (kokuunsai) Tusk Soldier 1 (2 maybe): That's Kokuunsai, the one who says "SON" from my videos often. he stole the Hiryu no Ken technique and learned it. However, what's awesome about Kokuunsai is his ability to poison Hayato: Hayato's a pretty interesting character having three ways to build by RPG standards. Considering his throw power is one of his higher stats I think, it actually does really good damage already (especially with a his neutral kick combo which is 100% guaranteed) I'd say it was maybe 1/3 damage on Ryuhi who's throw power isn't as high to reduce damage. Against Powers and throw stat characters, pretty a some over 1/4. When I talk about him in an analysis, I'll touch on that along with his cancel item set up. (I like having a special move canceller in matches at least) Wiler: Wiler got nerfed and buffed in this game. His new super is pretty good, but he lost some combos because his juggles would be a little too OP in this game Wolf: Yeah, that move is really good if you toss in a super right after the bomb. I didn't include the video but the bomb and main super hit together thanks to tracking and makes up for him not having Sonic Buster 10000. You can also Option Select with it to mix in a throw by forcing block. Min Min: Yeah, her super in this game is literally Terry's Fatal Fury Special Power Geyser. In the Virtual Hiryu no Ken of Flying Dragon, she creates two geysers but in an instant one after the other. Much more OP in Virtual form but only hits once (high damage though). Lol, it seems though she learned from Gen in Street Fighter how to do his super move (the one where she punches through and the opponent gets plenty of hits after.) And then her kick super is influenced off Kate from Flying Dragon Virtual Hiryu. Shouryu: Yeah, and the worst part about that cancel combo super is it costs health I rather than a meter so you'll still be able to super the person after. He has 3 builds but I think he really has to either concentrate on Attack and Throw the most. Projectiles don't knock down anymore like Flying Dragon did, and while that is better, I think I heard for Shouryu, it isn't. His super spirit gun's are on the slow side also. Actually, fun fact about Shouryu in Virtual Hiryu no Ken. He's a spirit detective in the game, and uses Spirit Gun...Yusuke Urameshi inspired? Masked Man: Lol, and that's supposedly Shouryu or someone whom reminded Ryuhi of Shouryu. Hariya: XDDD yeah that freaking Izuna DDT. He's actually the one character who had a character portrait and is the less of a clone than any clone character in the game. Though not that much. Yuka: Lol, funny one there. Yeah, Yuka's the best character in the game possibly. She's pretty much Akuma difficult thanks to her having 3 attack to grab follow up combos, distance grabs that can also become a super and a one hit kill, a Shun Goku Satsu (which is very OP in a no items match) and her spinning fan super can be chained twice or three times if you are lucky, and a super that destroys people who guard. Oh, and she had special grabs and a counter grab super. Yuka tier. Powers: Those giant arms. He's went through some good and bad changes. One of the bad ones is that is cool as toss and then sideways izuna drop move is now a super that costs, and does the same damage as it did normally I hear. But his Guru Guru Punch got a major buff. Demon Kabuki/Tusk Soldier: Powers wannabe with one different super move. Suzaku: All he got was buffed, literally. he's a pretty good character now. Red Falcon: Basically, instead of Kokuunsai who uses a simple projectile that causes poison and doesn't cost super meter. Red Falcon pays a super meter to punch the person very hard and poison them. Yeah, he gets that nice strength in there with buff, but he does have Suzaku's Hyakuretsu Ken also. The one thing I didn't show was repeats. Some clones also have the same super. Red Falcon doesn't have the phoenix meteor or psycho crush though. He and Yuka supposedly get together in the Hiryu no Ken story or something form what I've heard as both of them helped Ryuhi on their quest before the final story apparently. Ellie: This is an older version of the girl you saw in story mode. She's wolf's daughter and a friend to Wiler. She seems to be a little influenced off of Kate from Virtual Hiryu, but they are two completely different people. But yeah, I honestly don't know if Ellie has anything to do with the Hiryu no Ken story. She is a pretty unique addition to the game, but...we all would have preferred Roseman who actually plays a role in the final story of Hiryu no Ken. Raima: From what I've played in Virtual Hiryu no Ken where he was a super strange clone of Hayato in his play style (kinda like the difference between Yun and Yang), Raima definitely got a major nerf if they were going off his Virtual form and a buff from his SNES form. He does have some of the Hayato moveset, but he also got some original stuff also which is cool. He is the only character with a special sidestep that works exactly like Kage-Maru and he can also sidestep anyway if I remember correctly regardless of if you have the option on or off. Interesting character but strange as well. Hard to say if he's good or not. You could say its player vs player rather than character vs character match up. E. Quaker: Nah nah, that costs I think 2 meter. He uses a slowed down Powers voice. Also for some reason only on himself, the super where he lets the opponent fall on his staff, he seems to get it up the butt XDDD lol. Really no idea why though. Zongerian: Yeah, mega eh...Hey check me out! SUPER CHOKE HOLD AND TOSS! Ryumaou: Pretty good character and good reach. Fuzufuu: He actually has some unique moves that Ryuhi doesn't in his move set, can't remember all of them except his forward special. Ryuhi does 3 kicks low mid high, and Fuzufuu does a low mid and then a little double kick combo if I remember correctly. Slower but definitely might have more power and can also launch for a juggle. Shin Ryumaou: Yeah I feel this game is a mishmash of influences. Shin Ryumaou killed me on my first time because I got careless and was murdered by that move. Yuka's Shun Goku Satsu is definitely better because of range coverage, but this is a very power move as long as you stand in front of him. What's worse which I didn't show but have footage of is if you are point blank range with Ryumaou, you'll get hit by a weird hitbox on his body and the move is 100% guaranteed. No jumping or nothing. Jack and Ryu: They come from a game that came out before the fighting game series of Hiryu no Ken. Super Chinese. Without them, there would be no Hiryu no Ken. They are pretty good characters though, and Jack kinda almost does a Tetsuzanko, but his character model makes it look like a simple shoulder tackle. Ryu is more Ryuhi than Jack however. But damn, Ryu has a pretty awesome shokyaku where at point blank like what you saw in his super, kicks the person plenty of times. Much stronger than Ryuhi's by a long shot. Gou Fire: Yeah its true. Another Super Chinese character who murders in this game. I actually have lyrics that go to the first part of his theme, but the singing part is hard XD. He's a very awesome character having a huge kick chain and other awesome kick techniques. In fact, yeah, he's a Tae Kwon Do master. His last projectile super costs 2 meters and all his other supers are strike based...so just build up on strike attacks honestly. Robonohana: Another Super Chinese character. He got nerfed and buffed in some areas from what I heard. But I don't use him much. I remember from my experience though that he has some possible mix up potential in strikes and throws. He's not that bad but he's definitely different from every other character...and has E. Honda's sumo head butt. Bokuchin: Another Super Chinese character. Bokuchin got a major buff in this game. I remember I made a video hating on the character...and god damn I hate him. But actually works much better than he used to in Flying Dragon. He can be deadly in this game and since Jumps are your worst enemy (but also great when you land a punch to start a combo like street fighter) he has his anti-air Spinning bird kick. He's also one of the best characters to use to get element kos only when you are trying to unlock a certain tournament and item Mugen Shirou: Yeah, you can knock him out of it...but god damn, Eternal Kick is the worst move they've ever made. It's worse than having chosen Bokuchin over the other awesome charcters in Super Chinese fighter Thorn Ram: That super makes you crouch forever. You can still attack, but you can't move forward or backward. Never get hit by any one of those kicks. Targun: Literally uses Ellie's slash kick super but calls it the Wiggling Leg and actually moves his leg very slowly up and down. Both Targun and Thorn Ram however are the most original secret characters in the game, but get this, they are still clones. Yeah. They come from the character, "Dava" in the PSX Virtual Hiryu no Ken who is a maui thai fighter using the similar moves (his super is so hard to figure out though)....I was gonna show Virtual hiryu to show have broken bad of a game it was...but the videos were always too long. It was difficult to talk about and moves were so lazy looking in the game especially for Ryuhi's Shokyaku. Virtual Hiryu no Ken (opening) This was the last game Roseman made it into (he was in SD Hiryu no Ken SNES as one of the best characters I hear having very OP combos) Elemental Ryuhis: Their all move thiefs with a non-pause elemental super. Freaking Wind Ryuhi jealous of Hayato's moves, every elemental Ryuhi jealous of everyone's moves. Thunder Ryuhi: Yep. What's funny is, his projectile super if I remember correctly was one of the best or at least, in comparison to somehow who used the same exact move (Kokuunsai Tusk Soldier, I'm looking at you) his actually stays much longer, hits more times...yeah. Mix that in there with Wiler's Super or the Thunder element super and you have a mega kill move. What's worse is, if I remember correctly, all elementals have 8 Super bars...so yeah, their banned.
Captain Sheepy Thanks for clearing up E.Quaker. I guess not having the meter shown threw me off. Out of all the moves Fire Ryuhi stole, *why* steal Mugen's useless kick buster? Looking and Jack and Ryu again, their busters are starting to grow on me. Gou still has better busters than Jack, though. Also, maybe playable Ellie is supposed to be a "what-if" version.
Honestly...I have no clue why he'd want such a dumb move. XD Yeah Unfortunate for jack aside from his Phoenix Dance, he also got the Phoenix Meteor from Suzaku but his actually has different properties on how it hits the opponent. He also gets the Gengei's Shogo-ha since Gengai is a secret character. In fact, Gengai might have stole the move from Jack. When I played Super Chinese Fighter, I chose Ryu XD. Yeah, technically it is some years later because the characters in the roster of this game take place way after the actual story in the game. But before SD Hiryu no Ken SNES due to Roseman being in that game.
Captain Sheepy "Gengai might have stole the move from Jack" Nope. Have you played Super Ninja Boy/Super Chinese World on the SNES? Gengai appeared on that game as an NPC. & I think Ryuhi was replaced by "Rick"
Ah now that's cool! I've only played super Chinese fighter and I rented super ninja boy as a little kid once. But when I spoke of that, I should have emphasized that I was referring to the animation department of the game. They took the character motion of jack's super and used it for Gengai's because there was already a move similar in hiryu no ken twin/flying dragon but on a non-SD Gengai. So transferring that from a big body to a small body with a simple copy and paste would be tough So they had to recreate the motion of the move for an SD character, and as Gengai has already had that move in Non-SD form so by copy and pasting from Jack, they could make doing Gengai's super move in flying dragon a breeze rather than having to do it twice for SD It's something that I figured would be similar to smash bros with its motion files, like when people would replace the character motion filed on other characters. I figured, well, either they designed the move for Gengai's fist or jack and copy and pasted the 3d motion file to one of them to reduce the work load of having to do the move again. I assumed, maybe they added jack before Gengai's even though Gengai was in 3D before jack was, feeling hidden characters would come last in the work load. ^_^ sorry for the whole explanation. But shit, now I love culture brain even more. I really want to try Super Chinese World again now. It's been too long. Oh yeah, is there any translation on the super Chinese rpg series?
Glad Yuka finally has a regular plain button special, and it doesn't look half bad either. Just bought this and I can not wait to try these out! I hope you can actually unlock Yuka's Final Buster now for VS Mode!
Actually. there's no unlocking at all to be done except for the Shin Hiryu no ken for Ryuhi. Otherwise...there's a lot of extra characters to unlock. A few unique and some special types of clones, some are ways to play as an older version of a character like Ryuhi, some are variations, etc. It's pretty awesome overall to try the hidden characters. Keep in touch about how things go for you ^u^
Captain Sheepy Thanks, I will! I have been playing Flying Dragon since I was young so it's awesome that I found out a sequel existed. By any chance has the frame rate improved with this one? I know Flying Dragon was infamous for its incredibly choppy visuals.
Medachod Didn't seem to. I didn't even know Flying Dragon had a choppy frame rate. Seemed okay on my copy. Oh yeah...Yuka seems a little broken in this game almost....almost >o> Wiler got a love of balancing so his old combos won't work as much, and his normal super was replaced as you saw. Everyone got some changes here and there and it helps make the game feel like it really improved. The rpg system is even heavier than before in some ways, so much you can say this is a true rpg/fighting game. Stats play a big part in the game.
Captain Sheepy I see, and you sure you were playing on an actual N64? Cause I am, and the frame rate just drops constantly. If I had to say, the game is somewhere between 10-20 frames all of the time. I don't know, maybe it's mostly because I am used to 60fps games, but I know 30fps looks really smooth still at times so this is definitely lower than 30fps; even lower than 20fps is definitely noticeable to me. Man, I sure hope she's not! I main her all of the time and I love her technical combos. Whenever I play any fighting game online, such as Super Smash Bros or Street Fighter Alpha 3, I always aim for the mind trick approach; if someone finds out, however, I switch my strategy. I use roughly five different strategies, however only once have I had to go up to three ;) Ah, I love games where you get stat boosts all of the time! I play a shooter on my Saturn called Cotton and doing well in that game heavily relies on collecting the power crystals so you level up, otherwise the enemies get so freaking hard it's not even funny. However, unlike other shooters, if you have high enough dexterity and are pissed enough, you can actually go up to them and start punching them too! Which I believe powers up as well. And, well you are approaching their bullets, you can disintegrate them as well with another button! Which you could always do, but it's most useful when you are approaching them for a beat down XD
Medachod Actually come to think of it. I did some research to confirm it and some games just run at 20 fps. But if you are talking about fps drops, then that's pretty odd. My n64 runs pretty solid but I have noticed these situations when playing on other n64s at my friend's places. Hmm...what if you played it on a custom console? Are you using the gameshark pass through method? Oh when I say broken. I mean she could possibly be the Akuma or Sagat of the game. She's broken in a cheap way (though her cherry blossom corridor got (nerfed into a block chip damage move rather than anti-air). For example, her neutral super can be combo'd twice in a row after launch and juggle combo. Second, any character in the game becomes very deadly when you give them the glove so they can cancel into special moves. Oh, and it's not those kind of stat boosts that happen in game like a power up. I mean equipping armor and stuff and leveling them up with experience from winning battles to up their stats, transform them into even better items, get them an elemental spirit that can be leveled up for different little elemental special attacks in battle, and even upgrading the equipment in shops in certain stats. (think games like golden sun or final fantasy where some equipments don't just raise your defense or strength but have multi-purpose uses) You can have a character that has equipment only boosting mostly physical attack and murder with combos, but get easily beaten by a character with mega high physical defense and high projectile power or throw power. The four stats are physical attack *(fire), projectile attack and defense (thunder), physical defense (ice), and throw power and throw defense (wind) So for characters who really like throwing, powers and Yuka would definitely be on there to boost their special throws, normal throws, and super throws, but then you need to decide what else to boost with the rest of the equipment slots (3 slots) Each item can boost and decrease stats, and sometimes one more than others or two, etc. Some equipments can give new abilities like double jump, cancelling moves into grabs, etc. And if they have elemental spirits, depending on it's power, you can shoot said elemental power, do an uppercut or attack of it, or even a full screen attack. There's even special medals that can regenerate health, poison your enemy when you attack, and lotsa other cool nifty things. ^u^
Japanese version only, as far as I know. The US version had way less characters, because it was bundled with Virtual Hiryu no Ken on the same cartridge, inciting hardware limitations. Either that or this is the sequel. Honestly I can't tell anymore lol
Nope. This game was released in japan and never made it to america, It's a sequel and a very different game from Flying Dragon. A lot of gameplay and characters changed and improved in how it functions
dam that sucks with they would bring this back have so many questions on the characters just found out there is another game set between the 1st and the 2nd game
clue 47 This one features a story of the very first Hiryu no Ken for NES. And then I remember it was either on a wiki or somewhere else where they explained more of the story as to what happens and etc (such as who is Roseman in SD Hiryu snes+virtual hiryu no ken) I know by characters, Virtual Hiryu 64+Ps1 probably takes place during Hiryu no Ken 2 as Red Falcon and Yuka in the same game is a sign of that. And Roseman is a part 3 thing since he's the last hero to join when Red Falcon and Yuka leave the team.
Holy shit, as much as I love Flying Dragon, there's so much lazy design choices in this game. Recycling secret busters for the majority of the character roster is beyond lazy. I'll admit though, SOME of them were creative, and downright hilarious.
+Rubeus Zukovsky Yeah I couldn't agree more. I think one of the recycles I was happy for was the gengai style Super Kinryu-ha (the big fireball ryuhi does, instead done with two hands). I also do like Ryuhi's new secret buster (which is totally a reference to shoryureppa from street fighter), but there are some I was all like...=n= really? Namely the flying kicks...all of em, story hayato's, and the hidden characters, ah! and Thorn Ram's shin kicks of death (which puts the opponent in crouch state forever.) Actually, I think Elli's kick (which is just an multi hit version of a buster she already has), and Targun's wiggling leg (same as elli's but leg wiggles) It would have been awesome if hidden characters actually had some work put into them, even if they are just for story purposes as something temporary...but doing these animations do take a long time, I've tried it myself with some programs x.x.

I wonder why this never got an American release. In fact, the only known Hiryu no Ken game to be released worldwide is the original N64 game.
I played the Japanese version SD Hiryuu No Ken on SNES when I was kid! 30 years ago! It's one of the most underrated fighting game ever!!😊

My thoughts on the Busters:
Ryuhi: The first buster is the Shin Hiryu no Ken, right?
The only one that made it was his animation for his Shogo-ha (shogo-ho?)
(kokuunsai) Tusk Soldier 1 (2 maybe): That's Kokuunsai, the one who says "SON" from my videos often. he stole the Hiryu no Ken technique and learned it. However, what's awesome about Kokuunsai is his ability to poison
Hayato: Hayato's a pretty interesting character having three ways to build by RPG standards. (I like having a special move canceller in matches at least)
Wiler: Wiler got nerfed and buffed in this game. His new super is pretty good, but he lost some combos because his juggles would be a little too OP in this game
Wolf: Yeah, that move is really good if you toss in a super right after the bomb.
He's also one of the best characters to use to get element kos only when you are trying to unlock a certain tournament and item
Mugen Shirou: Yeah, you can knock him out of it...but god damn, Eternal Kick is the worst move they've ever made. It's worse than having chosen Bokuchin over the other awesome charcters in Super Chinese fighter
Thorn Ram: That super makes you crouch forever.
Virtual Hiryu no Ken (opening)
This was the last game Roseman made it into (he was in SD Hiryu no Ken SNES as one of the best characters I hear having very OP combos)
Elemental Ryuhis: Their all move thiefs with a non-pause elemental super.
XD
Yeah Unfortunate for jack aside from his Phoenix Dance, he also got the Phoenix Meteor from Suzaku but his actually has different properties on how it hits the opponent.
Captain Sheepy "Gengai might have stole the move from Jack"
Nope.
So transferring that from a big body to a small body with a simple copy and paste would be tough
So they had to recreate the motion of the move for an SD character, and as Gengai has already had that move in Non-SD form so by copy and pasting from Jack, they could make doing Gengai's super move in flying dragon a breeze rather than having to do it twice for SD
It's something that I figured would be similar to smash bros with its motion files, like when people would replace the character motion filed on other characters.
Medachod
Didn't seem to.
I use roughly five different strategies, however only once have I had to go up to three ;)
Ah, I love games where you get stat boosts all of the time!
The four stats are physical attack *(fire), projectile attack and defense (thunder), physical defense (ice), and throw power and throw defense (wind)
So for characters who really like throwing, powers and Yuka would definitely be on there to boost their special throws, normal throws, and super throws, but then you need to decide what else to boost with the rest of the equipment slots (3 slots) Each item can boost and decrease stats, and sometimes one more than others or two, etc. ^u^
I wonder why this never got an American release. In fact, the only known Hiryu no Ken game to be released worldwide is the original N64 game.
i wish there was the soundtrack of gou fire's stage it's sounds amazing
Westerns say: "No U!"
Easterns use "ST Kotegaeshi + press C
I’m playing Flying Dragon on actual console.
The first game or SD Hiryu no Ken Densetsu the second game? Do you have a japanese 64 or modded?
This is the updated japan only version.
REally wish this had made it to the states
I do too. If only flying dragon was noticed
But I saw adverts in magazines for it. It didn't come to the west?
I actually rent this from my local Blockbuster! I never seen this game elsewhere!!
3:41 outrage?
Suzaku was my favorite
I did not have that many characters
Nice video!
Wrap 😅 0:20 T Ed 44
Are all those characters playable? I don't remember having a bunch of these characters.
Same I’m trying to figure out when they had this many people in the game.
Japanese version only, as far as I know. The US version had way less characters, because it was bundled with Virtual Hiryu no Ken on the same cartridge, inciting hardware limitations.
Either that or this is the sequel. Honestly I can't tell anymore lol
Aye, this is the sequel. Japan only, it has far more characters.
Willer speical is god teir
2:13 spirit gun
Any way for me to emulate this and have it work? I got it downloaded and running on project 64 but every screen is littered with random text
The same thing happened to me, did you ever get it to work?
Everdrive?
THERE WAS A SEQUEL?!?😢😢😢😢
just wondering if you buy the japan version could u change the settings in to English ? love this game use to rent it from blockbuster all the time
And then I remember it was either on a wiki or somewhere else where they explained more of the story as to what happens and etc (such as who is Roseman in SD Hiryu snes+virtual hiryu no ken)
I know by characters, Virtual Hiryu 64+Ps1 probably takes place during Hiryu no Ken 2 as Red Falcon and Yuka in the same game is a sign of that. And Roseman is a part 3 thing since he's the last hero to join when Red Falcon and Yuka leave the team.
Not working super moves
Namely the flying kicks...all of em, story hayato's, and the hidden characters, ah! and Thorn Ram's shin kicks of death (which puts the opponent in crouch state forever.) Actually, I think Elli's kick (which is just an multi hit version of a buster she already has), and Targun's wiggling leg (same as elli's but leg wiggles)
It would have been awesome if hidden characters actually had some work put into them, even if they are just for story purposes as something temporary...but doing these animations do take a long time, I've tried it myself with some programs x.x.
Bro how do i get the Rom
A am y Ed d I’m 0:05 😅
I say hiryu no ken fighters for street fighter
how’d you get this to work on an emulator ? i downloaded it but when I run it there’s a bunch of text on screen. or are you playing on a modded n64?
Was this a mod? Cause there are characters and supers here (if I remember correctly) are not in the game.
This is the Japan only sequel to Flying Dragon 64.
@@davidterrell1242 Got’cha! Thanks for the reply.
SD? what is it?
Charecters super ONLY does 80% damage------equals low tier garbage
read the description genius
