Thank you for reviewing this Scab! I did a review on this one a while ago - ruclips.net/video/IH0pPhYNxn8/видео.html No argument that this one feels less ideal in the hands. That is the perspective a person gets handling a lot of tools. Other fixed blades I had used prior to the Alpha hunter would slip in my hands. In my ignorance it made the alpha hunter grip seem good. I have a little more experience now and don't think the handle is very refined. It is stable though and to your point, when you have a glove, which folks in Minnesota do 10 months out of the year, it is not so bad. Happy to have ae chat about it !

Honestly brother we'll have to set something up I'm looking forward to it! Thank you for letting me check it out. Also thank you for confirming the glove theory once I put it on it kind of struck me that this is probably what it was made for

I like a thicker handle on a fix blade myself but others like a thinner handle thats why there is so many styles everybody is different 💯. My thing is you suck it up and give the knife the same treatment as all. Appreciate the dead honesty brother you are my hero😂 seriously you like me have success stories just by being absent from what we used to do. My main thing in life is to change how everyone sees me. I want to leave behind he was a good man and a man of his word, kind to others and driven to survive and help others. Sorry got off track a bit. Much love to ya brothe scab

Paul Bos saved the world from the last ice age by inventing heat.
And if not for Hoyt Buck inventing sharp objects, knives would just be flattened spoons.
    🤣

Back in the mid 2000s, I had a folding Buck Alpha Hunter with the guthook.
It was a heavy knife, but was, and remains, even though airport security seized it, my favourite knife. I broke the blade at the guthook once when I was using it as a pry bar. Buck replaced the blade for free. Oh, I'm in Australia, and the local supplier who I bought it from handled everything. All I had to do was drop it into their shop.
Yeah, the Alpha Hunter folder was/us a great knife. It was the Buck 278 Folding Alpha Hunter 3-1/2" Blade with Gut Hook, Rubber Handles, Liner Lock, 420HC. EDIT: The rubber handle remained grippy, even when covered in kangaroo blood.

    Another excellent review !
Absolutely agree about the grip comfort, or lack of rather. I made my own scales for mine years ago, completely changed the character of the little knife...love it, still have it today. Not the best by any means but it has and does serve me very well.
Off topic - Any word on if there will be another run of Dregoths soon ? Hoping, hoping, hoping...
Anyhow, thank you for your straight forward approach and forthright talk on things !
Best wishes for you and yours !

Although it doesn't look like it's good for hard use, the finger notch, and the thumb grip appear as though it might give you a lot of control for when you are doing fine work. Not all knives and handles are created equal.
And of course if you want to chop hard.. DUCT TAPE. 😂

In spite of the less than stellar handle, the knife seemed to handle the cutting tasks very well, which may say as much about Scab as it does about the knife itself.
