Tom Landefeld if you think these would work out good over there look into the 210 diamond swing yarder they are super easy to rig up and smokin fast 6 forward and 3 reverse gears
Those are really cool little machines. I think there is a real market for some little yarders like that, especially in places that don't traditionally high lead.
Yeah I’d say you are right, it’s the perfect size for smaller jobs and especially being that it’s mounted on a skidder, perfect for getting into right places !
thanks man, that's why it didn't look right-it ain't no old jackass! lol I know the same company (or their competition) had a retrofit package for the 404 as well, have seen a few of them at auctions or online, etc. They're out there but getting harder and harder to find, especially in such good shape!
666 had the 4-53detroit in it, could be 666 or 667 running gear to get more weight below center of gravity and help anchor the yarder platform... or they deliberately underpowered a larger machine with the 4-53 to make it harder to get into trouble tipping the beast over with overweight turns...
@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos if you know anybody looking for a good riggin hand let me know. Ive worked under many differnt yarders and have experience with Bowman,Acme and Eagle's. Ive got a combined 10 yrs experince. Ive chased, pulled riggin and set chokers and fell timber. Im used to working a 2 man riggin crew. One on each side of the lines when possible or front to back. I'm 34 and started working on the riggin when I was 15. My first job was under a TTY 70 and Bowman Mark 6. Iv got thinning experience as well. I worked under a 501 Kohler and a little Eagle carriage in the thin. I can work thats for sure.
Hi Lee. it was a buddy of mine that owned the yarder, and isnt running a crew anymore. unfortunately I dont know anyone looking right now I'll keep my ears open, yup sounds like youve been around and know whats up. where are you located ?
id say you'd be making money if its under 1,000 ft. but 1,500 or so is possible. Don't quote me on it but I believe it was designed to yard around 700-800 ft as a highland machine, pick up corners of a unit where it wouldn't make sense to rig up a big tower.
That's a NEAT little rig, thanks for sharing Boone!
Pretty cool set up. Good view for the yarder man being above the loader too
Definitely sounds like a Detroit, but I don’t know. Didn’t see a puddle of oil under it might be a imposter. 😀
haha I agree completely !
What a cool little machine!!
Nice effective little unit they have got there.
Those skidder mount yarders would be the ticket here in the East Ky mtns...... I have put a lot of thought into it. They are getting hard to find.
yeah they are great little machines

Cool, it is a neat setup, I enjoyed running this one, it has good line speed and pulls hard for how big it is.

Lot of oil about. Leaking, burning, or just changing?

It’s a Clark skidder I’m not sure what size tho I’d guess 666

I'd say you're right, looks like a 4-53 green leaker humming it's little tune there

oh gotcha. yeah it has 6 guy lines which i am really impressed with on such a small yarder really stable yarding machine.
