Indeed it did. Five minutes on stage at an open mic will impress that, too. The way the one guy on the end treated it like it was a competition of comics is despicable. He seemed to be the type to hear "I'm not here to make friends," on reality shows over the years and nothing in his brain clicked that this might make him an awful person to be around.
Yea I'm 100% convinced that Erik or whatever is just one of those guys who reads up on the history of comedy and all the technical aspects, but doesn't have a funny bone in his body.
I met that Tyler guy once at a comedy show in some hipster video store in Echo Park. He was one of the acts and he had a pretty good set. We talked afterwards about the whole local punk rock scene in LA he's a pretty cool guy.

Depends on who the comedians are. Joe Rogan always talks about how much he likes when his comedian friends are just chilling out and trying to make each other laugh. A fun game for this one would've been, Take each one of the contestants individually into the studio and before they meet up tell each one of them that its a gig and the person they're standing next to is a audience member from the team. Then sit back and grab the pop corn when each of them feels they're getting heckled by the person standing beside them.
I stumbled upon your videos randomly one day and though I don't typically watch this type of content, I like your channel. Content creators of this genre usually seem totally not genuine/artificial so I can't watch more than 30 seconds usually. You've got the quality and character to really grow your channel and I just want to say good luck and keep it up. Im enjoying the videos.
Chris, Michael is a comedian. He was on a real world type show on Netflix (maybe?) and he was working on his stand up. It was awful (the show and his stand up). You should check it out.
I've watched him off and on for ages, and this was the most consistent I've laughed out loud in a video from Chris, loved the commentary lots. Even though his Cris Angel videos have so much more source to laugh at, this content was about the best I've seen done from Chris.

I did standup comedy a long time ago and there was never a question of when you take your light. It’s not an order that you get to place. The people running the show just give it to you, usually 1 minute before your time is up. Unless you’re the headliner. Then it depends. Either you’ve got a certain amount of material and they’ve agreed to let you do it, or they assume can tell when the energy in the room is starting to wane and can spot where to wrap it up. “The light” is literally a light that they hold up in the back of the room. It has to be bright enough that the comedians can see it from the stage, past all of the other lights shining on them, but not so bright that it distracts the audience. It’s just a signal. The first one let’s the performer know that their time is almost up. Then if they reach their time limit, there’s a second one.
Anyone who thinks seeing Tyler start ripping into the sax part of "Baker Street" with a baguette *wouldn't* be a killer closing bit, is somebody who doesn't know comedy.

Was I the only one who thought Tyler and Isabella were legitimately funny? They were the most natural out of the bunch, and it definitely felt more like a bit they were doing rather than a lack of awareness.
A lot of standup comedians I watch on RUclips are not very funny. Drybar Comedy is a good example, most of what I've watched on those vids wasn't very funny and a lot of them are like, " I've been doing standup for 20 years..." but they're not very funny. Instead of coming up with jokes and witty improvisation some just talk about something that happened to them that they thought was funny, that's not being a comedian unless you're a great storyteller and know how incorporate jokes and one-liners to make the story funny throughout. There are however still a lot of really funny comedians out there for sure.

Was I the only one who thought Tyler and Isabella were legitimately funny? They were the most natural out of the bunch, and it definitely felt more like a bit they were doing rather than a lack of awareness.

A lot of standup comedians I watch on RUclips are not very funny. Drybar Comedy is a good example, most of what I've watched on those vids wasn't very funny and a lot of them are like, " I've been doing standup for 20 years..." but they're not very funny. Instead of coming up with jokes and witty improvisation some just talk about something that happened to them that they thought was funny, that's not being a comedian unless you're a great storyteller and know how incorporate jokes and one-liners to make the story funny throughout.
There are however still a lot of really funny comedians out there for sure.
