Clever hack for petites? Short, size 12, age 59

- Well I thought I was being clever getting some neutral T-shirts and of course some other clothes while I was there, from Primark but what do you think?

WOW…..as a short 5ft petite 70 year old lady, I stumbled across your channel and it’s a life changer…( well in my wardrobe at least..) ……the “cropped “t shirt hack and “cropped “ regular length pants hack is fabulous….why didn’t I think of that..!!!….got to go now as I’m off to give hubbys credit card a bashing…..have subscribed as I don’t want to miss any of your future video content…..🥰

I don't think the green dress is too long, looks lovely. The cropped trousers could have been longer is my thought. I recently bought some slim cropped jeans from M&S. I bought them in a 12 regular (I am 5ft) and they just come to my ankles. My thighs are a little chunky so I was surprised they fit me and they were flattering. Liked the idea of the cropped tops.👍

Well Rhian they looked absolutely wonderful apart from the last two items (the suit) it swamped you and just too much material. The tops have worked out a treat with the cropped length. I bought the Tu trousers when you first showed them on one of your videos, they are so nice and look incredibly smart. Tu still has them in stock for anyone wanting them. You looked fabulous as usual and you always get it right. Green dress splendid xx

Good morning Rhian thank you for the t-shirt hack, I will definitely give it a try. I liked all of the tops on you and the shorts. The first jacket was worth keeping as it could be very useful. The larger size might be too much fabric. I prefer the cut of your Tu trousers on you. I think the shape is more flattering on your petite frame. I thought the second jacket looked too long and boxy. The green dress looks great much better in a smaller size. Do you do your own alterations on a sewing machine? You have very good legs! Mine are white and blue🤣
Good morning, thanks for the compliment on my legs! I actually do my alterations by hand. I used to have a sewing machine but I don't have one right now. You are right about the jackets, the first one was good but the second far too overwhelming on me. Hope you are having a good weekend xx
I love the tops, I’ve never thought about crop tops, thank you for the tip. I think you look lovely in the first jacket, it fits like a dream and I like the suit trousers especially with the striped top. But if you don’t feel fabulous in any of these pieces don’t keep them. 😊

Cropped T-shirts were great as was the first jacket on you. I think the suit seemed out of proportion on your frame.

Well welcome to our little RUclips family. I felt awful in the suit, really short and squat but the other jacket was much better on me.
My daughter is 4'11" and we didn't discover until she was in her last year of high school that a mini skirt on her was the perfect length!!!

The loose fitting jacket needs tight trousers, also a tight top needs loose fitting bottoms! Just try different proportions then it would work.

Lovely stuff from Primark. Tbh I have never bought clothes from there. Just the fluffy socks from there for winter. They are either mid shaped or other. Someone told me that the t shirts lose their shape after it’s been washed.. if it is you could wear that under layering in the autumn as it would look ok under that. I haven’t been a fan of a jacket myself. I don’t mind the shacket as I mostly dress casual as I feel more comfortable, but each to their own as not everyone is the same.i don’t wear shorts either, but they look nice on you

Thank you Rhian. I never used to buy stuff from Primark but have more recently, probably since I've retired & looking for budget clothes. I've washed & worn one of the T-shirts already and so far so good but only time will tell. I love a jacket, even though I dress casually too, most of the time. I feel you can throw one on with jeans or whatever & it hides a multitude of sins. We're all different though. Have a good bank holiday weekend x
What lovely pieces and the prices seem to be a real bargain (I am in Canada Canadian currency runs at not quite double the pound/per dollar). The cropped tops look great when standing. Can you move around without having to tug them down after raising your arms? Sad about the cropped pants but they appeared just an inch or two short. You were so right about the double breasted jacket being too much for someone so dainty and petite as you. The unbuttoned beige and your own navy were lovely. When you mixed the beige and navy/denim separates back and forth, the outfits really came together. Now some lovely golden accessories to add the finishing touches or a bright pop of red in a bracelet or scarf or purse. Thanks for sharing your lovely outfits! 😊 Lots of inspiration!
Hello 👋, good to have you here! I've worn one of the cropped tops today and it kept in place pretty well. Primark has very good value clothing. Do you have it in Canada? You are right, I need to style it with a pop of red and some nice jewelry, great idea.

With the trousers try a short jacket (I think it will elongate the length of legs)

I said you need Flat Sandals/Shoes with the Ankle Grazer Trousers, the Wedges don’t look right with them. Only in my opinion 😳. Good idea re the Cropped Tops they look good.

Have to agree with you Rhi, the cropped trouser suit is not right for you. Great idea to get the cropped tops for your height. The Tu trousers look great now you have turned them up. Ive still to do mine! Having a lazy weekend….in the sun, well maybe not today, grey and wet in Northants. X❤

They are the make Fly - so comfy. I got them in a little boutique shop in Shrewsbury.
Sorry but those sandals don't go with any of those outfitd
They are Fly sandals & really comfy to wear as I walk everywhere to get my 10k steps in every day. So realistically, it's what I usually wear, these ones or Sketchers (trainers or flat sandals). Not perfect but functional.
