Your mom and you should do a video together or maybe you can interview her about the industry, and how it has changed, and you guys can talk about employee vs. freelance.
I second this! ❤🎉
My mom has been a depo scheduler for about 20 years now and she's finally convinced me to become a reporter :) I start school in the fall and I could not be more excited! These vids are soo helpful
Aw I love that!!!!! Pray it goes so well 🫶🏼😚
Hi Karis, How is school going? I am thinking of starting soon! But so nervous
Yea mine is starting in high school. She doesn't even know it muwahhahha
you should do a video of tips and tricks when going to school! how to practice, study, etc.
So you can audio record depositions and trials in order to go back and listen to them in case you missed anything? Also I would love to know more about the process of becoming a scopist for a stenographer if you know how to go about that.
I would also like information on what it is like being an official! I’m currently in speedbuilding and I am more drawn to an official position. 😊
Thank you so much for this video!
Hi there! I just found your videos and really appreciate you making these. I went to school for painting and have a bachelors of fine art, but I have found myself stuck in customer service roles and just scraping by since I graduated almost two years ago. I discovered court reporting when it was mentioned in a podcast I listen to, and found your videos shortly after. I'm also located in Texas, and really trying to figure out the best way to get into this! I have a lot of debt from going to school previously, so I am looking into online classes since they seem to be a bit more affordable. I plan on taking the NCRA free A to Z program to make sure that it is something that I want to spend time getting into. It feels like a lot of information at once but your videos have been the most helpful! Thank you
same for me here! I’m planning on doing A to Z and based in Texas! Right now the confusing part for me is how the semesters work for ct reporting school and if i am able to start in the fall or not 🤔
Ahh this is so good to hear! The A to Z program will be so helpful!!
Yes a set-up video will be awesome!
Thank you so much for explaining the paying structure I’ve always wondered how that worked. I start my program this coming week so excited!
Yes! A setup video would be interesting!
Thank you for your invaluable information! Looking at retirement but not ready to stop working and I think court reporting may be perfect for me. Looking forward to more of your videos.
This video was the most interesting because I didn't know much about the freelance work or the professional structure of payments and scheduling. I very much enjoy the fact that it is similar to a personal business. You're in charge of your schedule and you can even hire scopists and such once you're at that point. Very interesting, thanks a bunch! Great vids
Your videos helped me decide if I wanted to go into this field or not. Knowing a lot from what you shared helped me make the decision to sign up for court reporting school.
I love to hear this!!! 🥹
14:47 per diem is latin for "per day", looks like a legal term that probably originated in labor/tax laws/regulations concerning compensation for travel/field work related expenses and got carried over to other occupations where task duration is unpredictable.
Oh yeah!!! you should do a day in the life of a freelance court reporter.
hi can you do a video on more information on official court reporting (:
Hi, Chloe! I’m a freelance reporter in Texas too! I’m located closer to the Dallas area. I’m a steno mask writer on Case Cat.

I’m in Texas too and super interested in becoming a CSR!! Could you please lmk what college you attended and what certificate program you did?
Can your mom share more information on regular court reporting so we can see some of the advantages and disadvantages of her position make her a guest speaker
Sorry for commenting so much, but do you use or send prospective clients to your website or Linkedin, or do you only use the attorneys you mentioned?
Do you take an audio recording during a deposition for your reference later while you’re editing?
Do know if it’s possible to be certified in multiple states? For freelance it seems like traveling and being able to take jobs in multiple locations would be a benefit
Love it
I'm training as a scopist now.
Hey Chloe! I’m a 180wpm student in New Braunfels, TX. Do you ever take jobs further away like San Antonio or NB?
No, I don't, because the Austin area is so busy! I for sure have enough work around here :)
Do court reporting when a translator with a second language going on is speaking right after a witness speaks - that must be hard
Do you have to have experience in actual court reporting in a courtroom before you can go freelance and get respected by the business community?
How long have you been a reporter?
I'd love info on in court job please 🤗

I'm in the Houston area.

You obviously get healthcare from your mom I would suppose as you’re young. How much is healthcare going to cut into your salary when you turn 27
Can you talk about voice writing? AI?
What expenses can you deduct if you work fro home as a freelancer please say my rent
Planning to answer this on a video soon!
These vids are so helpful! I’m currently looking to go the freelance route so a day in your life would be so cool :) plus any other info like setups or whatever you’d like to share 🤍
