Yes! I inadvertently purchased a fake pop for my boyfriend years ago. I wasn’t into funko pop then, and I gave him a Tony Stark one from online. When I started collecting and realized it was fake we found it hilarious. It was the first gift I gave him for his birthday.

Hi, I see a lot of unwrapped POPs in the video I still don't know whether to unwrap and display or keep the figures in the wrapper. What's the difference if the box actually stays in its original condition without damage, after all realistically I'll return the figure also without damage to the inner packaging .. Thank you

After watching your video, freezing the image to compare to the one I bought, and doing that throughout the video, I'm pretty confident that the one I bought is real. Thank you again

if I buy a pop that has a sticker over top of the bar-code is it OK to remove it and replace it back on the bottom of the box in a different area so that I can scan the real bar-code to the phone APP. ?
Are all the warnings on the bottom of the brim pop suppose to be bolded or just the bottom warning line?

Trying to sue a company because of a 3rd party is generally a waste of time and money. Funko needs to take action against the actual manufacturer of the fake pop to be affective, and unfortunately there’s thousands of factories in China that is employing the unemployable - Chinese govt ignores it as it’s lifting their own citizens out of poverty. “Who cares if dumb Americans buy fakes” is their attitude. That’s why.

No that's just a broken pop, factory issue.
So how do we know if ours is real or fake if we do not have a second one? It seems like most of the things that are mentioned are 'color difference' or other tiny differences that you normally wouldn't notice you have both on hand which is kinda useless

I ordered madara number 722 on Walmart marketplace and it was actually a pretty good fake. The dead giveaway was the quality of the pop it’s self.

I know this is a shot in the dark. Does anyone know where i can find someone who makes or sells replacement boxes. Lost my hollow Ichigo, Kuruma chakra mode, Alduin, and black Kratos boxes a long time ago when I left for the Army and ive searched and asked high and low. Also this is a great video I very stupidly bought an invisible master chief and for the longest thought it was real until i kept seeing real ones and now im stuck with a fake 😮💨

As someone who works in graphic arts, I often wonder if bootleggers are purposely making their Pops look slightly different from the original. If I were going to make a fake, using the digital tools I have at my disposal I would copy every font & graphic EXACTLY. Like, why make the "m" in ANIMATION a different font? Someone had to consciously make that decision. If you are going to go thru all the trouble of recreating the design, why only go 95% of the way? Thankfully they DON'T copy 100%, but I think if would be easy to do.
I would totally pay for a rukia funko from u if ur willing to do 100% I can’t be out here spending a kidney on a “real” 1🙏😈😎

you definitely shouldnt, id suggest selling other pops to fund it if possible, or if u could get one out of box from someone reputable. Anything besides supporting these people and making them money

The Funko pops are manufactured at factories in China and Vietnam. So not necessarily fake.
Cannot see what you mean by the N font. Much if this is hard to examine when buying online.

If Walmart is selling it in their store then it will be genuine. Just make sure it’s a real Walmart website.
It’s sad they didn’t make a Mihawk Funko pop I really like him he’s such a cool character and he would look great as a Funko pop.
I bet they will get to a "Funko" treatment for Dracule Mihawk one of these days. And Kuma and Moria as well. That would round out all of the original Shibibukai.

Easy to spot fake when you have the real one to compare with.
I do legit checks all the time for pops I don't own. I use photo comparison to real listings. It's not that hard, you just have to do research 👍
For the fun of it, I actually did purposely buy a fake Brook (2018 Fall Convention exclusive, not 2018 NYCC exclusive) on eBay from an unknown seller with no reviews and sold cheap price ($23.99) just to watch this video and share along with a confirmation discovery. Yeah, this has been enlightening for me and amusing to do. Not sure what to do with my fake trash now. Lol
Not surprisingly, that seller has vanished on eBay without a trace once all 5 copies were sold. Can't even look at it or provide feedback. But I can't complain: I knew it was likely fake. It's better than dumping $600+ in a gamble take.
Here’s the thing, when you knowingly buy a fake Funko pop it sends the message to naive buyers that the Funko pop is genuine. Because they can see on eBay other people have purchased it. Best to alert eBay of the scammer.
@@jason84nz That would make sense. Although when I had looked up the seller's profile a couple days after receiving the fake Funko, their profile disappeared. Go figure, coming from a scammer that doesn't want to be notified.

To be honest, even real pop can have different colour on the box. I have two legit shanks from a long time and they are slightly different in terms of colour but both are real😅 ☹️

I bought a Luffy gear 4 funko pop and once I got it it felt strange and possible fake. I was able to return it and gain my money back but the seller said I can keep it and I would still get my refund. But I gave it away to a friend who's a big One Piece fan.
I tried getting shanks multiple times, I dont care for the chase I just wanted a shanks to complete the Yonko. In europe getting shanks is impossible. So I will have to order a fake for now.
I’ve actually seen Shanks available on Amazon, and it’s genuine as it’s from Amazon.
