Loved the presentation. Amazing violin too. Excellent tabla and sarengi, but I found the sarengi and background tanpura overpowering Kaushiki's voice throughout, and some of her variations getting lost in the strings.

This is recorded by cell phone, sometimes, the cell picks up frequency that are natural to it. It's not a clean recorder. Like the high frequencies of the tanpura.

I agree with Tomitagosh that how soothing and peace inducung is the particular renditun of Kaushiki.
It's an improvised version of original thumri Sung by ustad bade ghulam ali Khan.
I believe that indian classical music with its base on dhurpad which later had embellishments of Iranian Dastegh and Arabian Muqam made our music evolve into a great heritage momumental music.
The rendition given by Great Ustads and Pundits are like pieces of music and Beethoven.
The culture of art and music has degenerated in south Asia to due to political anarchy and wanton commercialisation .
Salute to Kaushi and his farher Ajoy who are National assets of mother india .

It's a shame that equal recognition is seldom given to the accompanists. Few realise that, without the accompanists, the singing is like a single colour within a kaleidoscope.
The violinist is Ambi Subramaniam. On the tabla is Ojas Adhiya. On the harmonium is Vyasmurthi Katti. And on the sarangi is GhulamAli.
