A note from Tim Churches, who designed much of the firmware... "There is a Gate envelope shape in Piqued designed to trigger drum modules, if you don’t want to use an envelope. It is just a square wave, but the pulse length can be set (and varied under VC)."
I use a Temps Utile, which is basically the sister module to Ornaments & Crime. I bought them both at the same time. Together, they are total work-horses.
This is looking more and more like a module that needs to be in at least one of my systems, if not all of them :-) All that menu diving though... It would be really cool if you could save the entire state once you'd set it up, and then save it to the app menu for instant replay Thanks for the vid, cool stuff!
What firmware version was used in this video? I have 1.3.6 - will be updated once I figure out the process - and there is no fill nor offset selections appear when I enter the number of steps. I get a dotted line indicating how many steps I chose.
The O_C in this mode doesn't generate the appropriate trigger values to trigger a drum module. You need to modify your envelopes to simulate a trigger. That's explained during the video.
would you say this is very similar to pamela's workout? Perhaps deeper? Instead of getting a pedestrian clock divider, I am looking at this or the workout module....
Not sure where you landed on this, but from what I've discovered, owning both, is that OC is great for handling pitch quantization, is open-sourced and ever expanding, whereas PAMs serves as more rock solid foundation clock source (while still having a lot of depth).
Wow....When I asked my question about "beginners video" for the O_c little did I understand that I was too early in my exploration of modular synthesis to understand I wasn't ready to understand the module regardless of the level of tutorial video. Now that I'm further down the road your videos are INCREDIBLE for beginners wanting to learn about the Ornament & Crime. Thanks.

where is the gate envelope? I didn't see it listed in the options...

Finally a good and informative video about this module, very interesting, thanks!
for someone who has been struggling with beats, this vid is a game changer. thank you
Nice to see it in action and menu diving thanks
More to come soon!

Hadn't really messed with Euclidean stuff until I went to this year's Tokyo Festival of Modular-- now I'm really interested :)
I love my Pamela's Workout for Euclidian stuff!
Such a great module!
Delicious intro. Seriously looking to get an OaC. By the way I loved the percussions, what modules where you firing?

You can save your settings, so that they get recalled every time you start it up, but there are not presets. It's definitely an amazing module!
I like to use frames parasite in Euclidean mode
The Pulsar by Qu Bit seems to be the best module for Euclidean Rhythms, it seems
I thought so too but no Reset.🤔

Can we choose one of the CV inputs to reset all euclidian sequences via a gate from the modular?
Are the modules in production yet or where can you pick one up?
Nagy?
Thanks for the informative videos! Who offers the O&C as a prebuilt module?
Check out this post on MW, they discuss where to look for prebuilt versions... www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2214835#2214835
Michigan synth works or Cal Synths have very nice 8hp prebuilt O_C modules.
I find this confusing, even though there are euclidean rhythms as an option in o_c, the module doesn't trigger any of drum modules..

I'm curious, can you use the quantizer for one channel and the envelope on another channel?
Daniel Jung Good question, unfortunately no. The modes don't mix at this point. But I can't think of a better reason to have two haha.
in the sequencer mode u can have two envelopes and two sequences, and quantise the sequence. I'm guessing ur not after that tho
@@voltagecontrollab yep, for all 4
The link is a 404. Where can I get the kit or full version ?
Anyone know of a beginners video?
For Euclidean Rhythms? Or Eurorack?
For all things Ornament and Crime
