I would get it because there were A LOT of games on the supported list for the PS4 Pro that I play or that I'm looking forward to playing, plus the 1TB harddrive is nice because I have a lot of downloaded PS Plus games, but I just have no money. It's not really worth getting too excited about, but if you happen to have $400 that you wouldn't mind dropping on it, then go for it

That is a legitmately good reason to. Not like you're "losing" out or anything, that's what we all payed not too long ago for the Ps4 1.0. Plus if you're playing on 1080p the better AA and FPS and overall stability, in my opinion, would be worth the extra $100 over the slim.

I agree, but the problem is PC games have gotten terrible ports. I'm mainly a console guy but I've been thinking of eventually going the PC route, but why should I if developers are going to half ass PC ports, or not release content for them entirely? They need to start focus on every platform with the same detail that's given to consoles.

Certain games will do Native 4K. Elder Scrolls Online announced on PS4 Pro, it will run in Native 4K. I also read that Last of Us, their patch actually makes their game Native 4K at 30 fps or you can switch it to 1080p 60fps again, but I find the thing about Last of Us to be false because that is a Naughty Dog game and I don't see that being in Native. If it is real, that will be hype because it's all over the internet so hopefully it is true.
I highly doubt Native 4k is actually gonna happen. Console players really underestimate the amount of power you need to run at such a high resolution. It's all just PR talk. Native 4k ain't happening on consoles, at least not for that price, or they sacrifice framerate or graphical fidelity.
from my understanding its upscaling for 2k and using some facing tricks or gpu design techniques at the end of the day the Pro will look far better on a 4k tv than a standard Ps4 .....as will all native 4k is not possible on intensive games
PS4 Pro is not worth it indeed. Its only purpose is to require the 4k resolution, but if you ignore that or don't have a 4k TV, it's literally a slightly stronger version of PS4 that doesn't fix some of the problems that were in the original PS4. Scorpio is more worth it

Some other important stuff for some people with the pro.. 1) You can stream in 1080P 60FPS (hello SFV!) 2) You can remote play in 1080P. 3) I believe the videos/pics you can take are higher resolution also. Also one other thing for FGC.. the controller can now be 'wired' into PS4, so gets rid of any input lag caused by bluetooth! Not sure how much difference this makes but every little helps! Believe it or not a controller wired into original PS4 still uses bluetooth!
I have a ps4 and a 4k tv. my question is how can u tell if a game is running 30fps vs 60fps? Is there like some sort of testing that can be done. I don't think I've ever paid attention to frame rates.

As a dude who got a 4K tv last year for Christmas and got Wii U at launch, I'm pretty stoked for a 4K budget console. I don't think people realize how cheap 4K is getting. I was in Costco last week and saw a 50" model going for $550. Given the increase of resolution in TVs, I agree with you that frame rate is still much more important than pixel count. A game running on 720p with 60 FPS is much better than 1080p with 30 FPS, especially if it's an action game or a fighting game. If you rely heavily on cinematics then 30 FPS isn't a big deal. Go watch a movie instead. Or better yet, go binge watch Daredevil on Netflix in 4K. It's fantastic.
I'm getting one because I haven't been invested in consoles for almost 8 years. Always had a playstation and picked up a 4K TV for $300. I think the Pro is not for console gamers but people who have left the console ecosystem and are looking to get back in.
I already have a PS4 and I just pre-ordered the PS4 Pro, the main reason I did this is because I know within a year developers are going to say "screw trying to hit 4K, it lets just make the games 1080P 60fps on the Pro with greater visuals then the current PS4."
This is probably the most honest recommendation Ive heard for the PS4 Pro. Most others Ive seen, including Game Scoop (IGN), the person starts by saying they either dont have a 4k TV or werent interested in 4k gaming to begin with and then proceed to bash the system. Obviously they werent the crowd Sony was intending to sell to, to begin with.
+djvax well if you care about framerate and loading time that much regardless on the platform you want , PC is the fastest either way since you can upgrade. And if you argue you can't set it in your living room or OK a tv, well yes you can and buy controllers for it, I'm just saying if you want good framerate and speed just get PC if that's what you care about (and better graphics compared to console version of games)
I'm sticking to the PS4 I bought at launch =_= This just feels like a ridiculous inconvenience. The only game I can think of that could POSSIBLY benefit from it is Final Fantasy XV. It's crazy how much gamers are more concerned with "frame rates" and "graphics" nowadays as opposed to what really matters the "game play". I could care less what the game looks like as long as it plays and handles good.
Framerate is crazy important. A game that is 60fps already feels a lot better than a game that runs at 30fps for example. I don't think hyper realistic graphics are really important, but it is important to me that the developer has a plan for their style. If the game is heavily stylized then a lot can be forgiven. If it's trying to look realistic but doesn't, that'll deduct a lot of points. Just my two cents.
Last time before buying the PS4 when it first came out, I heard a lot of bugs in that system and I waited a year before buying one. When I was surprised with the Batman: Arkham Knight bundle, I saved enough cash just to buy it. It was extremely wonderful, but I did keep my PS3 system. I had a lot of games on the PS3 system, so I kept it regardless of the PS4. In other words, I usually keep my PS systems just for the games. I'm decisive about the PS Pro, but I wouldn't want to buy a 4K TV from my HDTV. The slim version however, I would get it.

In the past I had to get it and this time it wasn't there... low system specs and nothing further new on table...So i decided to skip this gen console and bought myself a new GPU..... However the Scorpio from MS got my attention because of the UHD4K player. I love watching movies so for me as movie lover a UHD player is a must! Now i have a reason to get it
I've been gaming for over 30 years and I've never been so confused. I really don't think it makes much difference what console you choose, at the end of the day your going to get the same game experience no matter what way you decide to go apart from a slightly higher resolution or a few extra fps. Go with the exclusives you want to play and enjoy, otherwise what's the point.

I think the release of upgraded consoles are the console makers way of trying to keep pace with the highly competitive PC market, which in the last 5 years has become more affordable to consumers.
This is what the PS4 should've been at launch. We got ripped off this generation. Already dropped 400 bucks at launch and now we are dropping another 400 bucks to get what we should've got to begin with.

As someone who does not currently own a console I'm in a comfortable situation. I always planned to buy a PS4 but, as you know, life happens and there have been other priorities. So yes, I will definitely buy the Pro version since I don't have a PS4 and do still plan on getting one. Hopefully this holiday season. If I had already bought a PS4 though? That's unlikely. I'd definitely be waiting for a "killer app" or (more likely) waiting for the new Microsoft console to see its price and see what it's actually about.
I'm getting one because I allready have a 4K tv, and selling my old one removes $100-$200 on the pricetag, so I definetly think it's a worthy investment for almost 3 times the horsepower. I know, I mostly play fighting games, so I probably wont see any significant improvements (unless the developers decide to make use of it and update their titles) besides perhaps loading times. I also want to experience Final Fantasy 15 at it's best, and the old PS4 really seem to struggle with that game. One can also hope for an update to Dark Souls III atleast before the second DLC releases.
vr googles will not be improved.... the resolution has to do with the lens magnifying the pixels... the console will not change how this looks only how it runs.
So basically there's no need for this because most games won't actually use the "4K" res, especially since it's not actually running at 4K just a better 1080p and you need some form of a 4K tv so in other words just get the slim or keep what you have.
If you don't care about graphics and want to save money, don't get it, wait for the price to decrease, unless you piss money, then by all means, go for it. I enjoy games as much as the next guy, however, I prefer gameplay over graphics, that's more important, I've been using my 32 inch for 3 years, and it still runs good, so I'm just gonna stay put on 4K monitors.
The PS4k (PS4 pro) seems like one of those things that if you don't already have a PS4 and you are hellbent on getting one, it wouldn't hurt to drop the extra $100 (if you can) for those games that will come out later on that don't run as well on the standard piece of hardware.
There's a reason the competitive tournament scene is sticking with 1080p monitors for now. Latency, refresh rate, etc. are all typically terrible on HDTVs as compared to monitors. Upgrading to 4K isn't useful right now except maybe for UHD 4K movies, and the PS4 Pro optical drive can't even play those.
I have a feeling Sony will announce ps5 by the time Xbox Scorpio comes out (2017 dec) there is no way Sony is brave enough to challenge scopio and nintendo nx with ps pro which is pretty much same thing as regular ps4.
Some important information concerning 4k TVs. If you play across the living room for your gaming then you probably aren't getting the benefit of 4k anyway (depending on how big your screen is) If you are further than around 6 foot away from a 50 inch screen (the smaller the screen, the closer you have to get) then you can't notice a difference between 4k and HD
If you have one, try trading in your original PS4 to knock the Pro's price down the mid $200 range. Chances are if you purchased a 4k TV already, then buying a Pro at $250 shouldn't be a problem. If you don't have a 4k TV yet, Sony may create a combo to compete with the Xbox One S/UHD TV deal that knocks off $300.
I will probably pick one up, simply because I was intending to get a second PS4 anyway (Giving my original PS4 to my daughter). If I wasn't already planning to buy a second system, it probably wouldn't even be on my radar. The way I see it, it's a completely optional purchase. If you want to game in 4K then you have that option. If you don't really care for 4K, then you stick with what you've got.
I opted to build a gaming PC two years ago instead of buying a new console. So for me, I'm just going to get the PS4 Pro, and whatever M$ comes out with. Why not? Since I have neither one I might as well get whatever upgraded hardware they're coming out with. Had I chosen to get a console instead of building a PC, then I probably wouldn't be upgrading. Seeing how they said that games can be played on the old PS4's and new ones, it wouldn't matter. I would just wait for the eventual price drop.
I'm having a hard time jumping into this generation. I'm still on 360/PS3/PC. Not enough games that I'm interested in are there to draw me in. There's a few, but not enough for me. Some of them are also on PC, so I pick them up there. I'm doing a runback to the PS2 era a lot lately. I'm still finding gems for that 16 year old system!
I don't really get the hype behind 4K. I'm honestly perfectly fine with staying with 1080p, since that's the size and resolution I'm comfortable with. So if I ever get a PS4, I'm probably getting the original or slim.

I think that most devs won't make games natively at 4k. The real difference will be more console games that run at 1080p/60fps (and then upscaled to 4k). Conoles will be were PCs have been for a while.
Agreed frame rate vs 4K give me frame rate. I'm getting a PRO. Supposedly if the VR games are done good enough the 1080p display doesn't even matter. At least it's OLED.
I will get one but maybe a couple years or so down the line. I still don't feel confident in the lineup of games that are available for the normal PS4 and XB1 so I'm certainly not about to cough up more money for more power. PS4 pro will on a 4K screen will display 4 boxes on your screen at 1080p so it's the equivalent of 4 monitors and then it'll upscale to 4K in addition so it's an upgrade
Fighting game wise, the PS4 pro will be able to connect the controller to the console through USB rather than through Bluetooth. This will reduce any input lag caused by a wireless connection.
This is what Nintendo did with the Wii from the Gamecube. They updated the platform, but it was the same platform nevertheless. The Gamecube technically could have run Wii games, it's just it lacked the peripherals and full DVD drive for that. The Wii was absolutely fully compatible with the old games and graphically they were essentially the same. This means that Nintendo, for the first time in more than 10 years, will be on pair with the nextgen consoles if the NX is, indeed, at least as capable as the PS4. What do I like about the PS4 Pro ? That the Nintendo NX looks much more promising now because developers could potentially port from the PS4/PS4pro platform to NX.
Until it comes out and we can confirm tangible improvements in games that aren't just pre-fabricated trailers that could potentially be bullshitting us on how efficient it really is, I have absolutely no reason to bother with the Pro when I already have a PS4 as is.
4K would be good for a tag team style SF game with Ultrarealistic characters that was previously a scraped idea for SFV. Maybe just add in all the other SF characters from all the series like Tekken Tag 2 did and label it under a different type of SF to differentiate the two and to make it none canonical to allow the use of the older characters. You're right man, I rather prefer lock Witcher 3 to 30fps maxed out and have a consistent gameplay than an unlocked framerate that goes from 40 - 60fps on my GTX 980. In higher framerates going from 90 - 120fps you hardly notice the difference.

I have a PS4. It runs just fine. I don't have a 4K TV. I see no point to this. Even some people I know who DO have 4K TVs aren't really that interested. Maybe if it comes out that it helps with framerates and such then maybe more people will be on board. Plus the event REALLY didn't help. It basically focused on "Oooh, shiny"
This is something that I'm worried about. Games that I'm excited for are going to suffer from terrible framerates unless I upgrade to PS4 Pro. I like my white PS4 and it's played games like MGSV, Guilty Gear, the demos, and such quite nicely IMO. But yeah, my biggest fear is that games like FFVII Remake is gonna have a bad framerate (on purpose?!) unless I buy the PS4 Pro. I'm worried. :(
Ps4 pro and Xbox One S/Scorpio is kinda scary honestly. Unless I misheard something, what I'm getting from this video is that some developers will possibly makes their games to be more optimized for the monster console versions. If that's the case, then the the regular Ps4/Xbone will get the short end of the stick and will possibly get like a more choppy version. A perfect example of this is Hyrule Warriors: Legends for the **new** Nintendo 3DS. (A Wii U game ported to handheld) It works just fine on that 3ds but it chugs along on the standard versions that were released back in 2012.
I was contemplating getting the PS4 Pro, having never had a PS4 till now anyways. But I decided to take advantage of the price drop in the original PS4. I mainly got it for FFVII Remake, FFXII Zodiac Age, Last of Us, among others. But I will probably buy FF XV again on PC whenever that releases, if it does in the future, for the best possible graphics. This is assuming the game is good of course.

How many games ultimately end up using the PS4 Pro to its full potential depends entirely on how well it sells. If players don't upgrade their systems devs aren't going to invest as much time and effort to make use of that extra power. Sony will obviously make their first party titles use as much of that extra power as possible to draw people in. Devs still have to make sure their games run well on the original hardware, and unless a significant portion of the old ps4 user base upgrades the old hardware will take priority. The best thing to do right now is sit back and wait for a game that properly demonstrates just how much of an improvement it really is. I don't think we're going to be seeing significant frame rate differences myself. This system probably isn't going to take a game that runs at 30 fps on the old hardware and bump it up to 60 fps. It will instead likely mean the difference between running at 45-60/20-30fps and bring it up to a stable 60/30fps. And that's only going to be for the games that push the old hardware to its limits, or are simply poorly optimized. What I would worry about is the older hardware being left in the dust in terms of optimization should the PS4 Pro overtake the originals user base.
I was saving up for a PS4 and a new TV to accompany it because I haven't had a console in ages. Need one before FF7 Remake's release date is announced. I don't follow updates about the consoles at all, so buying a pro is just a small deviation from the original plan.
I'm going to take the PC route. I want max settings at 1080p60fps, cheaper games and free online. I dont care about VR. The only thing i'll miss are Bloodborne and GG Xrd.

Upgraded versions of a system, we haven't had anything like this from Sony or Microsoft at all only obscure, outdated consoles back in the 1990 with the Jaguar(excluding regular and MegaDrive Genesis). Microsoft is almost as guilty as Sony, but coming from the PC side instead of XB1. They're trying to force that shit W10 down our throats to play their latest games and they keep advertising DX12. We have benchmark for DX11 vs 12, there's basically a negligible difference in gaming performance between those 2 APIs.
I don't own a PS4 but i do own Bloodborne, i guess most questions will be answered in November when people start comparing games side by side, no hurry, i still have tons of games to play.

I would get it because there were A LOT of games on the supported list for the PS4 Pro that I play or that I'm looking forward to playing, plus the 1TB harddrive is nice because I have a lot of downloaded PS Plus games, but I just have no money. It's not really worth getting too excited about, but if you happen to have $400 that you wouldn't mind dropping on it, then go for it

I'm mainly a console guy but I've been thinking of eventually going the PC route, but why should I if developers are going to half ass PC ports, or not release content for them entirely? They need to start focus on every platform with the same detail that's given to consoles.

Certain games will do Native 4K. Elder Scrolls Online announced on PS4 Pro, it will run in Native 4K. I also read that Last of Us, their patch actually makes their game Native 4K at 30 fps or you can switch it to 1080p 60fps again, but I find the thing about Last of Us to be false because that is a Naughty Dog game and I don't see that being in Native. If it is real, that will be hype because it's all over the internet so hopefully it is true.
I highly doubt Native 4k is actually gonna happen. Console players really underestimate the amount of power you need to run at such a high resolution. It's all just PR talk. Native 4k ain't happening on consoles, at least not for that price, or they sacrifice framerate or graphical fidelity.
from my understanding its upscaling for 2k and using some facing tricks or gpu design techniques at the end of the day the Pro will look far better on a 4k tv than a standard Ps4 .....as will all native 4k is not possible on intensive games
No PC can do 4K unless you have crazy hardware and even that is a stretch, you can't expect a $400 console to do native 4k.

PS4 Pro is not worth it indeed. Its only purpose is to require the 4k resolution, but if you ignore that or don't have a 4k TV, it's literally a slightly stronger version of PS4 that doesn't fix some of the problems that were in the original PS4. Scorpio is more worth it

Some other important stuff for some people with the pro.. 1) You can stream in 1080P 60FPS (hello SFV!) 2) You can remote play in 1080P. 3) I believe the videos/pics you can take are higher resolution also.
Also one other thing for FGC.. the controller can now be 'wired' into PS4, so gets rid of any input lag caused by bluetooth! Not sure how much difference this makes but every little helps! Believe it or not a controller wired into original PS4 still uses bluetooth!

Why should you buy a PS4 Pro? Let me break it down for you...
-The PS4 Pro is roughly twice as powerful as the current PS4.
-It's going to upscale EVERY current PS4 games up to UHD.
-Contrary to some belief, there are no actual 4K games yet. All of the "4K" games are actually "rendered 4K", which is just another word for upscaled. So having a PS4 Pro will literally prep you for the future that will come around sooner or later.
-Gamestop (and probably a few others) always does a trade in promotion whenever new systems come out. Meaning that more than likely you'll be able to trade in your current PS4 for give or take about half the price of the PS4 Pro. So you'll be getting a very nice upgrade for quite a low price.
-PS4 has the best games in terms of exclusives as well as the mind blowing amount of awards it's games win. It's also the exclusive home to THE highest awarded game in video game history, which is an extremely amazing gaming experience (The Last of Us).
If the PS4 Pro is not for you, then it's not for you, but dont mock or shit talk those of us who it is for.

As a dude who got a 4K tv last year for Christmas and got Wii U at launch, I'm pretty stoked for a 4K budget console.
I don't think people realize how cheap 4K is getting. I was in Costco last week and saw a 50" model going for $550.
Given the increase of resolution in TVs, I agree with you that frame rate is still much more important than pixel count.
A game running on 720p with 60 FPS is much better than 1080p with 30 FPS, especially if it's an action game or a fighting game.
If you rely heavily on cinematics then 30 FPS isn't a big deal.
Go watch a movie instead.
Or better yet, go binge watch Daredevil on Netflix in 4K. It's fantastic.

This is probably the most honest recommendation Ive heard for the PS4 Pro. Most others Ive seen, including Game Scoop (IGN), the person starts by saying they either dont have a 4k TV or werent interested in 4k gaming to begin with and then proceed to bash the system. Obviously they werent the crowd Sony was intending to sell to, to begin with.
If PS4 Pro will reduce loading times then I'm into buying it.

Framerate is crazy important. A game that is 60fps already feels a lot better than a game that runs at 30fps for example. I don't think hyper realistic graphics are really important, but it is important to me that the developer has a plan for their style. If the game is heavily stylized then a lot can be forgiven. If it's trying to look realistic but doesn't, that'll deduct a lot of points. Just my two cents.

Last time before buying the PS4 when it first came out, I heard a lot of bugs in that system and I waited a year before buying one. When I was surprised with the Batman: Arkham Knight bundle, I saved enough cash just to buy it. It was extremely wonderful, but I did keep my PS3 system. I had a lot of games on the PS3 system, so I kept it regardless of the PS4. In other words, I usually keep my PS systems just for the games. I'm decisive about the PS Pro, but I wouldn't want to buy a 4K TV from my HDTV. The slim version however, I would get it.
I didn't even buy an xBone or PS4 because I was waiting for one of the consoles to really separate itself and give me a reason to buy it... Now they're already junking them. What a joke. Glad I saved my money.

In the past I had to get it and this time it wasn't there... low system specs and nothing further new on table...So i decided to skip this gen console and bought myself a new GPU..... However the Scorpio from MS got my attention because of the UHD4K player. I love watching movies so for me as movie lover a UHD player is a must! Now i have a reason to get it
I've been gaming for over 30 years and I've never been so confused. I really don't think it makes much difference what console you choose, at the end of the day your going to get the same game experience no matter what way you decide to go apart from a slightly higher resolution or a few extra fps. Go with the exclusives you want to play and enjoy, otherwise what's the point.

As someone who does not currently own a console I'm in a comfortable situation. I always planned to buy a PS4 but, as you know, life happens and there have been other priorities. So yes, I will definitely buy the Pro version since I don't have a PS4 and do still plan on getting one. Hopefully this holiday season. If I had already bought a PS4 though? That's unlikely. I'd definitely be waiting for a "killer app" or (more likely) waiting for the new Microsoft console to see its price and see what it's actually about.
I'm getting one because I allready have a 4K tv, and selling my old one removes $100-$200 on the pricetag, so I definetly think it's a worthy investment for almost 3 times the horsepower. I know, I mostly play fighting games, so I probably wont see any significant improvements (unless the developers decide to make use of it and update their titles) besides perhaps loading times.
I also want to experience Final Fantasy 15 at it's best, and the old PS4 really seem to struggle with that game. One can also hope for an update to Dark Souls III atleast before the second DLC releases.

So basically there's no need for this because most games won't actually use the "4K" res, especially since it's not actually running at 4K just a better 1080p and you need some form of a 4K tv so in other words just get the slim or keep what you have.

If you don't care about graphics and want to save money, don't get it, wait for the price to decrease, unless you piss money, then by all means, go for it. The PS4k (PS4 pro) seems like one of those things that if you don't already have a PS4 and you are hellbent on getting one, it wouldn't hurt to drop the extra $100 (if you can) for those games that will come out later on that don't run as well on the standard piece of hardware.
There's a reason the competitive tournament scene is sticking with 1080p monitors for now. Latency, refresh rate, etc. are all typically terrible on HDTVs as compared to monitors. Upgrading to 4K isn't useful right now except maybe for UHD 4K movies, and the PS4 Pro optical drive can't even play those.

I have a feeling Sony will announce ps5 by the time Xbox Scorpio comes out (2017 dec) there is no way Sony is brave enough to challenge scopio and nintendo nx with ps pro which is pretty much same thing as regular ps4.
Some important information concerning 4k TVs. If you play across the living room for your gaming then you probably aren't getting the benefit of 4k anyway (depending on how big your screen is)
If you are further than around 6 foot away from a 50 inch screen (the smaller the screen, the closer you have to get) then you can't notice a difference between 4k and HD
If you have one, try trading in your original PS4 to knock the Pro's price down the mid $200 range. Chances are if you purchased a 4k TV already, then buying a Pro at $250 shouldn't be a problem. If you don't have a 4k TV yet, Sony may create a combo to compete with the Xbox One S/UHD TV deal that knocks off $300.
I will probably pick one up, simply because I was intending to get a second PS4 anyway (Giving my original PS4 to my daughter). If I wasn't already planning to buy a second system, it probably wouldn't even be on my radar. The way I see it, it's a completely optional purchase. If you want to game in 4K then you have that option. If you don't really care for 4K, then you stick with what you've got.
I opted to build a gaming PC two years ago instead of buying a new console. So for me, I'm just going to get the PS4 Pro, and whatever M$ comes out with. Why not? Since I have neither one I might as well get whatever upgraded hardware they're coming out with. Had I chosen to get a console instead of building a PC, then I probably wouldn't be upgrading. Seeing how they said that games can be played on the old PS4's and new ones, it wouldn't matter. I would just wait for the eventual price drop.
I'm having a hard time jumping into this generation. I'm still on 360/PS3/PC. Not enough games that I'm interested in are there to draw me in. There's a few, but not enough for me. Some of them are also on PC, so I pick them up there. I'm doing a runback to the PS2 era a lot lately. I'm still finding gems for that 16 year old system!
I don't really get the hype behind 4K. I'm honestly perfectly fine with staying with 1080p, since that's the size and resolution I'm comfortable with. So if I ever get a PS4, I'm probably getting the original or slim.
Weird to see FF go from a regular turn based RPG and Adventure to driving from explosions and make your own combos hack and slash. I still love it ^-^
I think nothing will be better than ps3 !!!ps3 was able to save pictures music movies on its hard drive also able to read any DVD ,blue ray and 3d, pirates discs of any kind and even any video on the wep, the ps3 also was able to download anything from the wep something that the ps4 can't do!!!ps3 was and still is a monster

I think that most devs won't make games natively at 4k. The real difference will be more console games that run at 1080p/60fps (and then upscaled to 4k). Conoles will be were PCs have been for a while.
Agreed frame rate vs 4K give me frame rate. I'm getting a PRO. Supposedly if the VR games are done good enough the 1080p display doesn't even matter. At least it's OLED.
I will get one but maybe a couple years or so down the line. I still don't feel confident in the lineup of games that are available for the normal PS4 and XB1 so I'm certainly not about to cough up more money for more power. With all the power these companies have now, we've mainly gotten half made, short, and sloppy titles. The consistency of quality for these games has gone out the window
it's super early for 4k content, globally internet is still super slow and the limits of blu-ray will rear up soon.
also 400$ isn't near enough for 4k machines any time soon.
Unless you're a kid who does not have a job, 4K TVs are not really that expansive. And I say this as a brazilian, and here we earn less money and things are more expansive, even so I didn't have problems to buy a 4K TV. I really don't understand you gringos...
I have a 1080P Tv with 4k Cable box and the difference is still mesmerizing. I do not have a ps4, therefore I'll be happy to buy a PS4 Pro..
PS4 pro will on a 4K screen will display 4 boxes on your screen at 1080p so it's the equivalent of 4 monitors and then it'll upscale to 4K in addition so it's an upgrade

Fighting game wise, the PS4 pro will be able to connect the controller to the console through USB rather than through Bluetooth. This will reduce any input lag caused by a wireless connection.
5:26 I agree. PSVR will work on the standard PS4 but for me VR has to be played on the PS4 Pro to be anywhere near good enough graphically.
This is what Nintendo did with the Wii from the Gamecube. They updated the platform, but it was the same platform nevertheless. The Gamecube technically could have run Wii games, it's just it lacked the peripherals and full DVD drive for that. The Wii was absolutely fully compatible with the old games and graphically they were essentially the same.
This means that Nintendo, for the first time in more than 10 years, will be on pair with the nextgen consoles if the NX is, indeed, at least as capable as the PS4. What do I like about the PS4 Pro ? That the Nintendo NX looks much more promising now because developers could potentially port from the PS4/PS4pro platform to NX.
Until it comes out and we can confirm tangible improvements in games that aren't just pre-fabricated trailers that could potentially be bullshitting us on how efficient it really is, I have absolutely no reason to bother with the Pro when I already have a PS4 as is.
4K would be good for a tag team style SF game with Ultrarealistic characters that was previously a scraped idea for SFV. Maybe just add in all the other SF characters from all the series like Tekken Tag 2 did and label it under a different type of SF to differentiate the two and to make it none canonical to allow the use of the older characters. Which Tekken 7 character do you think would make a good cameo?

You're right man, I rather prefer lock Witcher 3 to 30fps maxed out and have a consistent gameplay than an unlocked framerate that goes from 40 - 60fps on my GTX 980. In higher framerates going from 90 - 120fps you hardly notice the difference.
Everybody assumes that people already have ps4 and only talk about if you are upgrading. How about those people who don't have ps4 yet? Name of this video is question if you should buy it and not if you should upgrade your old ps4.

Its got a new video player and an updated AMD GPU guys. Basically you are going from GTX 960 to the 970...except in AMD standards.
I have a PS4. It runs just fine. I don't have a 4K TV. I see no point to this. Even some people I know who DO have 4K TVs aren't really that interested. Maybe if it comes out that it helps with framerates and such then maybe more people will be on board.
Plus the event REALLY didn't help. It basically focused on "Oooh, shiny"
This is something that I'm worried about. Games that I'm excited for are going to suffer from terrible framerates unless I upgrade to PS4 Pro. I like my white PS4 and it's played games like MGSV, Guilty Gear, the demos, and such quite nicely IMO. But yeah, my biggest fear is that games like FFVII Remake is gonna have a bad framerate (on purpose?!) unless I buy the PS4 Pro.

Ps4 pro and Xbox One S/Scorpio is kinda scary honestly. Unless I misheard something, what I'm getting from this video is that some developers will possibly makes their games to be more optimized for the monster console versions. If that's the case, then the the regular Ps4/Xbone will get the short end of the stick and will possibly get like a more choppy version.
A perfect example of this is Hyrule Warriors: Legends for the **new** Nintendo 3DS. (A Wii U game ported to handheld) It works just fine on that 3ds but it chugs along on the standard versions that were released back in 2012.

I was contemplating getting the PS4 Pro, having never had a PS4 till now anyways. But I decided to take advantage of the price drop in the original PS4. I mainly got it for FFVII Remake, FFXII Zodiac Age, Last of Us, among others. But I will probably buy FF XV again on PC whenever that releases, if it does in the future, for the best possible graphics. This is assuming the game is good of course.

If I buy the ps4 pro what is the best 4K HDR in a lower budget? I dont care about makes as long as it looks good picture wise. Had 3 Panasonic vhs players die on me over the years while the 17 year old Bush Vhs still works 100% to this day.
How many games ultimately end up using the PS4 Pro to its full potential depends entirely on how well it sells. If players don't upgrade their systems devs aren't going to invest as much time and effort to make use of that extra power. Sony will obviously make their first party titles use as much of that extra power as possible to draw people in. Devs still have to make sure their games run well on the original hardware, and unless a significant portion of the old ps4 user base upgrades the old hardware will take priority. The best thing to do right now is sit back and wait for a game that properly demonstrates just how much of an improvement it really is. I don't think we're going to be seeing significant frame rate differences myself. This system probably isn't going to take a game that runs at 30 fps on the old hardware and bump it up to 60 fps. It will instead likely mean the difference between running at 45-60/20-30fps and bring it up to a stable 60/30fps. And that's only going to be for the games that push the old hardware to its limits, or are simply poorly optimized. What I would worry about is the older hardware being left in the dust in terms of optimization should the PS4 Pro overtake the originals user base.
I was saving up for a PS4 and a new TV to accompany it because I haven't had a console in ages. Need one before FF7 Remake's release date is announced. I don't follow updates about the consoles at all, so buying a pro is just a small deviation from the original plan.
I'm going to take the PC route. I want max settings at 1080p60fps, cheaper games and free online. I dont care about VR. The only thing i'll miss are Bloodborne and GG Xrd.
Xrd has a pc version, and there are rumors of revelator coming to steam later this year or in early 2017.

What are company turning into these days? Upgraded versions of a system, we haven't had anything like this from Sony or Microsoft at all only obscure, outdated consoles back in the 1990 with the Jaguar(excluding regular and MegaDrive Genesis).
Microsoft is almost as guilty as Sony, but coming from the PC side instead of XB1. They're trying to force that shit W10 down our throats to play their latest games and they keep advertising DX12. We have benchmark for DX11 vs 12, there's basically a negligible difference in gaming performance between those 2 APIs.
I don't own a PS4 but i do own Bloodborne, i guess most questions will be answered in November when people start comparing games side by side, no hurry, i still have tons of games to play.
