Thank you so much for snowing us the direction of how to go from T1 Counter 13-14 and go behind to take lifts to B1 Staff Canteen. Highly appreciated for this video.
Have a great trip , From one Qlder to another. Hopefully you can try and see if you enjoy it, As we stopped in Changi on our trip to Thailand. Thanks for your feedback.
We are always looking to where staff eat , After sniffing around found the canteen and Public are welcome, We had to eat there. We thought it was a find, We appreciated the compliment and feedback.
OMG...I can't believe you guys have already left Singapore...I swear I pressed the bell for all notifications, but somehow I didn't get the notifications for your videos...I have to specifically key in your channel name to search for your channel...And now I realized I am on my new RUclips channel these last few days cos I just started one, and my new channel wasn't a subscriber, that's why I didn't get the notifications, but rest assured that I am one now...I dunno if it was my imagination or not...Bec does look a bit sad leaving Singapore, and she finally cheered up when she entered the food court...Hahahahaha....You guys are so cute...! 😁
When I first came working in this airport during 2014, I have no idea the staff food court exist. I usually go to the local food court near my workplace in T3 upper floor, until I started hanging out with one uncle that work here for many years he bring me to staff food court my mind was blown. The upper floor local food court was actually decently price due to I have the membership card for discount and it was way cheaper than the one in Jewel (tourist foodcourt). The uncle take me to the basement walk around the back office and boom secret unlocked and I have eaten there ever since haha...
We love the boom secret unlocked. :D We were blown away when we walked into this food court. Cheap prices at the airport are very hard to find. Thanks for your story and feedback.
@@BecMattAdventures Agreed, I have traveled to different countries and had explored the few international airports find the foods are very expensive. One time I was in NAIA Airport in the Philippines and I was shocked to find the foods there are even expensive than we have here in Changi, I was quite blown away from that but luckily Mcdonald is nearby haha...
Incidentally, if you are in Terminal 2, there is also a staff canteen, although the sign does not indicate that. Instead it shows "Canteen (Level 3M)" and one has to exit past the glass door outside and track a short distance to the lift to get to Level 3M. The door of the lift also has a large poster indicating the canteen. Happy eating.
Thanks alot, we are always on the hunt for good value, as you never see staff eating in food outlets, so I just started asking. Let's say I didn't see many public there. We appreciate the feedback.
Our pleasure!, Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We love local hawker centres and this was a great option at the airport, compared to tourist outlets. Thanks for feedback.
Haven’t ever heard of this canteen. If I have T1 departure, I’ll definitely check it out. I know I have a long layover; I guess I’ll have to consider a ride over there. Just depends. Thank you!
Congrats on finding it! Most locals don't know it. There's another staff canteen in T2 so plz come back n dig it out 😅 Also a vegetarian canteen in d basement of Buddha tooth temple.
The staff canteen has been in existence when they first built Changi Airport back in 1981, obviously to provide economical meals for the employees/staff of the airport. It is a “secret” to non-employees quite clearly for commercial reasons, as the airport authorities would like passengers/non-employees to patronise the food outlets at all the terminals. Through the years I have made numerous trips to Singapore (from Australia) and have eaten at the staff canteen and have gladly paid the full price (on the display board) which I agree is very reasonably priced, but the staff pay a subsidised/lower price (not publicised), which I feel is fair. I have always known the existence of this staff canteen😉. It would not be common knowledge that these stall holders certainly do not pay the exorbitant rental that the other food outlets do in the other terminals.
Great summary, We love the Singapore hawker centers, So this is closest we will get while at the airport, Also the public price is still great value and food was delicious. Great that other people know this as feels like your eating local and not like a tourist. Thanks for sharing, We appreciate the feedback.
There is another staff canteen at Terminal 2 - 7th floor carpark area. The ambience and food is much better. At least that's where i went years back. Not sure if it's still there.
@@BecMattAdventures I think the canteen underwent renovation. I haven’t been there since more than a decade ago. Found some instructions online as to how to get there: Exit immigration (Terminal 2), turn left and go to the end of the terminal, walk into the parking lot (short walk), look for a door leading up to a staff lobby. Inside, you will find an elevator. Take the elevator to 3M. Walk up one flight of stairs --- and voila, the not-so-secret Staff Canteen. Food is great and cheap. If you get lost, just ask the staff -- many will be more than happy to help you with direction.
The best part of this canteen is staff can enjoyed discounts on food. The prices is not cheap either compare to the city or neighbouring area. It almost the same values. But for convenience n comfort food. This is the nxt options.
We asked around to actually find it, Good luck to the average tourist ever trying to find it, Well worth the effort and a great food and great prices. Didn't see many tourist in there. Thanks for feedback.
Airport definitely don't promote or recommend it due to the food outlets paying huge rents to be in the airport. So airport management don't want you there they want you at the food outlets. Hope that clears it up. Thanks for feedback.

Changi Airport Staff canteen has become a tourist destination!
Singaporean food at local price. No wonder. We loved it.

As you saw, We loved the comfort of hawker center, Compared to airport prices it was a bargain for us. Thanks for feedback.
@BecMattAdventures No problem. U are welcome. Tks for enjoying n 👍 liking to our local SG food.
Need to do one at dps airport everything is so expensive there for rubbish most of the time
100% agree, will see if I can find anything. Appreciate the feedback.
Can transit passenger access the food court?
If your not clearing immigration than no you can not. If you clear immigration then Yes you can. As it where you check in at T1
err... but they put up sign.. "Staff Canteen"
I would assume most people would think they are not allowed to use.
Is that what you mean?
@BecMattAdventures ah yeah that does make sense...
Spoiler alert: there are several staff canteens at Changi Airport. you just need to know where to find them.
We asked around to actually find it, Good luck to the average tourist ever trying to find it, Well worth the effort and a great food and great prices.
