- These are nurse mare foals from the 2010 season. A nurse mare foal is a foal that was born only so that its mother would produce milk. It's mother is then sent off to nurse a "more valuable" baby, and these nurse mare foals are 'disposed of'. They are essentially a byproduct of the industry. The Last Chance Corral in Athens, Ohio, rescues as many of these orphans as they can and places them in loving homes. This video is of the foals playing in the big paddock for the first time! The foals in this video are 19 of 80 that we have done in 2010... with more to come! If you are interested in adopting a nurse mare foal, please visit www.last-chance-corral.org, or call us at (740)-594-4336! Thanks for watching!
I feel sad for those horses. The foals lost their mother, and their mother is made a birth machine. Humans are sick. Thanks for saving those foals.
I had no idea that this breeding practice was going on. It is so terribly wrong and sad!!!! How can they discard a precious foal like that?!!!! Thank you so much for saving their lives!!!!
Shut up my grandpa has nurse mare and we do not give them up we take care the horses then we take of are self, that don't mean nurse mare people are bad
U shut up there are bad people out there and this is sad and terrible and vary vary messed up
I would just die of cuteness. I Have no idea how people could just throw away these beautiful little babies!
These babies are awesome!!
🌎🇦🇷.Estos.potrillitos son la LOCURA, de alegria y FELICIDAD de mi vida.💖💖💖.
I have the mostly white pinto gaited filly. She is the love of my life and the sweetest trail horse.
I show this video to everyone I know as often as I can to make people aware of the heart breaking nurse foal industry.
Thank you for caring for them.
This is horrendous. I have never heard of the nurse mare practice before. Thank you, you guys are incredible.
People are a strange breed.... So sad to be born and thrown away like trash... Thank you for seeing a need and making something good out of it... Wish I could help.. but I am too many states away ... Bless you for your hard work!!!
ActiveCameraPro you're right people are strange I would give each and every one of these babies at home if I had a chance I pray for organizations like this all we can do is keep the word out there that this is going on as an animal lover I just have to continuously keep the word out there don't breed your horses there are so many unwanted horses in this world and as you can see babies the most precious ones of all
Awww...So sweet but sad at the same time. Wish I could adopt one!
Praise God! Thank you for all you do. Pray more come along that can help like you and Pray abundant finances come your way to help you and the foals and also to stop this practice.
The nurse mare is a wet nurse to a thoroughbred baby. The thoroughbred 's mother is sent to be bred again just days after the birth. Since horses can only nurse one baby at a time, the nurse-mares' baby is effectively orphaned. We purchase as many as we can every year, bring them to our intensive care foal barn, stabilize them, love them and adopt them out to loving homes. Read more on our web page
It took me a while to notice the dog. He kinda blended in. You chose the perfect song for this video. I really hope all these guys find/have found good homes.
Cute over there cute over here it's every where!
Love it, Love it, Love it.. I have never seen so many babys at one time, in a herd at that.. This is just pricless, I could sit all day and watch these sweet little ones... Thank you for sharing, and thank you soooo much for what you are doing.. angels on earth is what you & your rescue are
I would love to give these foals a home!!🐎🐎
Absolutely LOVE this video! I want the little appy so bad! I'd be in soooo much trouble if I had my own barn! Thank you LCC for helping them!
aw im so glad you guys are doing this with out you those foal probably wouldnt have made it dont listen to the ones who say this is cruel because the foals would of died (if i under stand correctly) if they were left on there own
Glad these little guys are with your farm…but what a horrid practice...
They look so happy when they run.......I want them all!!! (I WISH)
So what happens to the mares who give birth to the more valuable foals? why cant they nurse their own babies? and what kind of heart break do they go threw having their babies torn away from them to give to another mother? this is so ridiculous and makes no sense. Im so happy you people rescue babies this precious.
The mothers go off to be bred again.
they go off to breed again
This is so sad yet OHHHH so CUTE!!! I just wanna go in and run around with them!! I love that little appy!!!!
I'll take them all!!! Such sweeties!
Well, it looks like these foals are having a good life!
OMG!!! LOOK AT ALL THE BABIES!!!!!! I would LOVE to volunteer!!!
Quite an unusual sight! :D So glad these babies are safe :)
Beautiful.
That would be like being in baby horse heaven for me... I know it is soooo sad they don't have their mums. But that is darling.
I want them all.
💕💖💞⛅🌈🐎💟
Awwww babies, If I wanted to say adopt one of these little guys how far will you drive them? I live in Minnesota. We use to breed Arabian Halter horses but got out of it when I started showing ASB. We had one foal orphaned by her mare so we hand raised her and she grew up to be the nicest horse ever. I would LOVE to rescue one of these little guys to have as a pasture buddy for my show horse, my mare who we hand raised, and maybe be a good trail riding horse as well.
how much to adopt a couple of these babies?
cuteness, cuteness everywhere.
Awesome work!!
Their so CUTE!
the dog is like I want be everyone friend.
they are amazing do u have a website that I can go on because u are such an amazing person doing this for these colts fillys and mares and geldings and even stallions
OMG why your not in slovenia id adope one or two right now ! :( thumbs up for you last chance center !
They are so cute
I want all of them! There beautiful!
Yes, though anyone can lease a nurse mare if they wanted. The majority of them are for TBs though. Live cover is not allowed in the Jockey Club, so the mares have to travel to be bred, and shipping her TB foal with her is too risky, so they lease a nurse mare.
Sooo precious! And what is happening to them and their moms is sooo wrong! I will sign the petition. The industry that does this should be ashamed of themselves. I hope it will end soon. Horse slaughter needs to be outlawed and very fast. All those poor souls sent to such gruesome deaths. Very cruel world we live in. But you guys are awesome to do this for those babies. Thank you and keep up the good work. I would take a dozen.
Sweet.........and very CUTE
Hopefully the racing industry will start to use domperidone to bring barren mares into milk, and thus reducing or eliminating the need to breed mares for nurse mare duties. I think you'd agree that it would be best if there were no nurse mare foals to be rescued. Domperidone (and other lactation inducing drugs) has the promise to do exactly that.
I WANT THEM ALL!!!!!
Oh!! :( I wish I had a giant ranch, I would adopt them all
Oh my goshhh i want one, but i think your in ohio (correct me if wrong) and im in maine. If you guys are still opened in 6 years (probably not but HOPEFULLY) and i remember, i might get one.. is there any way to get one to maine???
Aww, it's like a kindergarten class, but they're all horses!
But why does anyone need to produce horse milk? What's its industrial use?
Aww how cute are they!! :D
So these foals don't have a dam/mother horse? Who teaches them how to behave, do they have an older equine babysitter?
They're all too cute. Any video of nurse mare foals as adult horses and how do they turn out?
I don't understand why the real mother of the "more valuable" babies can't nurse their own baby?
Looks like they will all turn out to be beautiful horses.
they go off to breed again
But so do the nurse mares. That's is always part of the deal. You rent a nurse mare, you have to get it bred while you have it, before you return her.
It is just how mares' reproduction works. They come into estrus a few days after foaling and every few weeks after that until they are either bred or they become anestrus is the fall.
I'm kinda confused did u save these Little guys or are u the won who bred them
Aww they look like sheep ^^
So cute
I'm going to be looking up your organization I've been wanting to adopt another horse thank you
They are so cute. I wish I could adopt one. Maybe in the future :) I'll definitely keep you all in mind. :)
So so so so so cute
how are you guys doing this year? you do wonderful work. god bless you!!!
I love the markings on the foal at 0:09 so cute =3
@LastChanceCorral I think you made a typo...AI is not allowed and live cover is allowed. :)
What are they breeding them for I'm confused? So all of them get sold??
Are these foals really saved? Doesn't seem likely to me when there are so many
This is a cruel practice to a precious being.
ill take them all
They are so cute I want them all:)
i'd love to let my mare live w/ the babies. she would love a chance to play mommy.
Once they know how to drink from a bucket, we use the free access system. The milk replacer formula we us is very expensive. In the past we have been blessed with some very generous donations without which we could not continue to keep our doors open.
As you might expect, the recent economic downturn has greatly affected us: there is an increased need for our services and a decrease in people's ability to support our program financially. Sometimes it's hard, but it's so worth it.
WHAT? Those paints ought to be very popular... WHat happened to the "more valuable" foal's mother?
cute!!!
Terribly sad to see so many motherless babies. The music doesn't fit. But glad they are saved. Had foster moms can't be found for them. But that would be hard with so many.
Oh my god ... that is horrible. Is there any way to somehow Take one? Would they want money for it? Or could I just save them a bullet and take it home?
Our domain name was hijacked a few weeks ago, but you can still find our website by using typing in "dash" or "hyphen between the words last and chance and between the word chance and corral. I't still a ".org" site.
Where is this located? all over the USA?
Aww so sweet. Just imagine what stuff these little foals will do, lmao. xD
there sooo cute!!!! ^^
I have never fully understood why this is needed. Like, why can't the "more valuable" foal's mother nurse it?
The "more valuable" foals mother is either dead, or she rejected the foal, so they would need a nurse mare. But this is still a horrible practice.
@@sageatkins1142 the "more valuable" foal's mother is bred again immediately after her baby is taken away for the nurse mare to feed :(
The racing industry horribly abuses and exploits horses
@@ruthhoward4930 omg :( that's horrible. This really makes me hate racing.
Um mais lindo que o outro. Pena ser tao distante
How much $ to get one?? where are they located??
I was wondering how much for the the white and brown one is
And where do you live
Skewbald and their not for sale! My dad owns them!
+Laura Ibbotson it. Says in the video that they need homes
All of your videos are old can you give us some new videos let us know what new babies you have
@LastChanceCorral I think you mean that AI is not allowed by the Jockey Club. They demand live cover.
Sad that orphaning these babies purposely. Is this in the United States?😢
Scary,no. Mom, to teach them
Why can’t the brood mare feed both foals?
She can and it sometimes happens but most places don't want the of foal on their farm. It is better that the mare nurse just one foal to ensure proper nutrition and to avoid conflicts therefore the mare and foal are separated. That's when we step in and take care of the orphan.

It is a shame that such a place as yours is even needed. The racing industry is very irresponsible and only contributes to the unwanted horse population. I am glad that these foals, that would have otherwise died, have a place and a chance at life.
1:59 - the spirited dark little guy bucking is MINE!!! How much?!
are those yours give me some.
wow this a shame, I hope there is a section of hell people for who do this. What gorgeous babies God Save them . and thank you for all you do
1.27 thats a cutie race horsie
how much is one?
I would love to have the blue roan Appy
How can anything so beautiful be called 'a byproduct' or 'a waste product' Shame on the racing industry for contributing so largely to such a disgusting trade.
Legs for days!
awee
0:50 is that a dog
If only I was not from france :'(
Advocate to stop eating usa horses!
alot of cuties here O.o why freaking let them go to die? gosh... would be a waist. It's a good thing you are doing ^^
I HATE when people do that any one who would do that is a heaven rule breaker
Dog = boss! xD
The sad thing is no body is doing anything to stop the racehorse industry and or the horse slaughter industry i have 3 horses myself i have had 10 horses at once in the past years most of them rescues and they are the best horses you will ever own i have a standardbred rescue she 16 hand came to us mean as hell and after 8 yrs of not giving up on her my 5 year old nephew rides her
This dont even make sense how cruel.
i want 3 or 6 lol
