When we came out another red jeep was parked next to mine, my wife commented about it and said yours is still cooler cause its a classic. When i got to my drivers door there sitting on my step was a duck. And not just any duck a square duck, i laughed and called my wife over to show her. I said wonder how long they have had that square duck just waiting to park next to a yj. Well its sitting center of my dash now watching where we go. My square duck on my square headlight jeep dash. At least in the Oklahoma area that's what they do.... My wife will walk out of a store and there is another dam duck. Now she has started to hand them out. Its and endless cycle of who can give away the most, the weirdest, etc or receive oh so, so many dam ducks! Oh, oh sorry I mean I love my wife's dash of ducks.
That's what I do😊
So glad I now know why they are there for.i parked by one Jeep it was covered in.little ducks I was thinking maybe he still feels like a.little child. So thank you for letting us know. By the way. Ducks are cute.❤
So when they sink under water, it will be like a popcorn trail to follow
I’ve had and driven Jeeps since the late 80’s the jeep wave is a cool classic tradition, bath toys can duck off!
It’s older than covid. It’s been around for years.
They are just so pretty to look at while they are waiting for help to come!
Well just look at what they are on. Mall Crawlers, Sunday Drivers. I have a 94 YJ fully functional and is my daily but also trail ready and does the job pretty damn good. Got no ducks. Dont want no ducks. To each their own but for all you Duck people. No wave from this Jeep
Mine's a '97 TJ. I look at the "duck displayers" as wannabe poser jeepers. 😂
Mine are from kids mostly. I'm not going to be rude to a kid when they get out of their parents Jeep to give me a duck. I always have one to give them back. It's just being silly and I don't know why anyone would really give my old yj a second look.
The game is duck duck jeep. You're supposed to pass them along to other jeeps not collect them 🤦♂️
Why are people in the comments mad about this?
Can’t afford a wrangler and are jealous
@@FP194 think you’re right…
@@FP194 buddy, nobody is jealous of that piece of junk.
@@FP194 the new shit will break down before your first payment tbh.
Jk is the last functioning jeep.
And even it was riddled with issues
TJ and older for real *Jeeps*
They’re just mad they never been ducked
Never really bothered to look into this, i have a 89 wrangler, half the time new jeep owners dont even acknowledge us older jeep owners. And no my jeep is not a beat up turd. Its a low mile still nice inside and out, has a lift and wheels bigger tires on. Dont really see many older jeeps with ducks so just never really gave a crap about a duck on the dash. A couple months ago i met my wife at a restaurant to eat b4 we drove rest of way home. And yes it had a wood tag that said ive been ducked. So sounds like the lady not only started a trend but a way to make money off the ducks aswell.
As a life long Jeep owner-CJ7/YJ and last but best-TJ, I am not all about that. My Jeep is ugly and doesn't have a name on the hood, doesn't look like a christmas tree at night, doesn't have the "Amazon off-road" package, the winch is heavily used, It looks ugly af but is highly modified. I take her to Jeep Jamborees and theres no way those ducks would last. There are REAL Jeepers...and then theres "them"...a curb is a big thing.
You would never see such ridiculous behavior from those of us that drive Yotas!!
@@JesseCase I own a 4th gen V8 4x4 as well and you are correct BUT I SWEAR...there is an FJ Cruiser running around..with ducks on the dash...
@@tangledline Lol, I can definitely believe it with an FJ Cruiser. I mean considering most FJ drivers are people that used to drive a Jeep, then they came to their senses and upgraded to a Toyota, but unfortunately they still have some of that filthy Jeeple blood in them so they went with the FJ Cruiser to keep some of that Jeep look. 😂😂
I have a Jeep...no duck!!! 😂
"investigates" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had a jeep Cherokee , loved that thing. It ran for years and years and years and was so reliable. Didn’t ever put ducks on my dash board tho
TJ was the pinnacle. Change my mind. Everything since has been purpose built for comfort and looking cool. Over engineered and over priced is now the Jeep motto.
I have a 97 and I cannot agree more.
True Jeep comrades do not judge the older or newer models and we all love each other no matter which model had greater or worse reliability.
Unfortunately I Learned the hard way.
I own a JK and I know its the last of the functioning jeeps.
And it comes with a ton of issues its self.
@@sixpestmy JL sport survived 6 months of me flooring it at every light before i ditched it cause the old 8 speed was beginning to hate me
I have a 1995 YJ Rio Grande and a 2014 Rubicon. Like them both, wife and dogs like jk as it has AC, a hardtop, and back seat replaced with a dog bed. I kinda like the YJ more it is more like driving a tractor. Kinda hate AX5 transmission and 2.5 4 banger want to swap a 4.3 vortec and NV3500. JK has drive by wire. I have manual transmission I don't like asking computer to please increase fule and air.
They want to get killed by projectiles in a crash. Let one hit or more hit you at 70 miles an hour.
*"Hey Nice Jeep"*
Isn't enough apparently 😂
It's duckin stupid.
It actually started in 2003 with the mini cooper community. I love it for any community as it spreads smiles !!!!
It's a Grindr thing, you wouldn't understand. Jeeple display their pride on their dashboards, the more ducks the more pride🏳️🌈👨❤️👨👬💩
Jeeple??? .really..you all need to stop..it's annoying.
Hilarious
Haha!! I always had a feeling that Jeeple were secretly a part of that community! I mean if you're going to choose to drive a limp wristed Jeep when you could have chosen a Toyota then it makes sense that their... pride🌈💩... would be strong! 😂😂
My mom and Dad have a Jeep...I special ordered a pack of middle finger ducks so i could duck em. Now, we are ducking a few lucky people around town with the rest 🤣🤣🤣 My parents love it. They get so excited when they get ducked 🤣🤣🤣
Not the vintage jeeps. My cj 7 has zero ducks.
Love rubber ducks! Ive been keeping mine in my car for years!
My daughter is a proud JEEP OWNER ❤️❤️
I originally noticed they were only on wrangler / gladiator. Then I'd occasionally see them on patriot and renegade and figured those people went out and bought those ducks.
Nope. Mine's a Compass, and it's been 'ducked' 3 times. I don't display them on the dash, but I have them, and every time I got one, it made me smile.
Nothing like an obstructed view while driving.
If the view is obstructed, then you are too short to be driving.
What a beautiful, sweet n kind gesture. Much love to the woman who started this trend. Someone needs to find out her name. My daughter and I really enjoy looking at the ducks. Thank you for sharing the story. The question was answered. Much love peace and blessings to you all. 💋❤️💐✝️🙏💯🦆🐥
This has been going on since I was in high school 2011
My wife’s Jeep started getting them in 2017-18 in our area
Don’t know that she’s got that many, if any since Covid
Each duck adds about 10k miles to the engine's life expectancy, gotta love the pentastar engine!
It's worse than I thought
I think this is so ducky 🐤 🐤🐤🐤
Cheers from Ontario, 🇨🇦 Canada.
I think it’s more of an east coast jeep thing. Coming from Utah and wheeling, I never saw these in my life until I moved back east. Tackiest thing I’ve ever seen 🤣
Your just Mad cause you haven't been ducked. It's ok
it’s in south too for sure just got one today
it was a little dinosaur duck 🥺
From PA & I second this!
Our 12 year old granddaughter gave us our first one. We received three more at a Jeep rally.
We have had our 2014 Wrangler JK since August. We put sturdier tires on her and have been have a blast on our Flint Hills Adventure Trail that goes from Oklahoma through our home state of Kansas into Nebraska. The rougher parts are our favorites. It’s our soon to be retired adventure plan, to be active overlanders. ✌️
I loved my Jeep liberty, but this Mommy duck was at the gas station buying Junior a bottle (filling up the gas tank) Everytime i turned a corner. 5 vehicles later and i still have my little Mallard duck hanging from my mirror. Maybe, people just love ducks. Like me😂
Golf Alpha Yankee…Alpha Foxtrot.
I discovered you in March after having tendon surgery on my elbow. Couldn't hardly do anything for 3 weeks. Still can't do much with that arm. But onl7 had 4 physical therapy sessions. I
I live in the Chicagoland area (Illinois, USA).
It is a simple act of kindness, from one Jeep owner to another. Most of you are just cruel
I have a SUV with ducks. I collect rubber ducks, it’s a thing I started with my family.
They signify how many times it has broken down.
So all of US non Jeepers should start a trend by putting rubber animals on our dash!! 😊
My jeep has no rubber ducks. Guess I’ll buy some so people will think I’m cool. 😅
I think it’s only certain jeeps. Cause me and my brother both have jeeps and no one ducks us:(
Just do the respectable thing and spend the money on a Toyota!
Ok journalists, explain the little stuffed animal seen hanging from the outside rear of the car.
Usually on imports hanging from a recovery hook or exhaust pipe area….
Jeeps are the perfect way to buy a personality.
really; what personality does it give u?
@@sixpest the one that makes you think a bunch of rubber ducks on your dash is cool.
@@gorehammer1so you’re the king of cool then I take it?
@@johnstamps4829 I’m at least cooler than your boyfriends gladiator.
@@gorehammer1 room temperature insult, you can do better than that 😉
It’s a jeep thing that only a few In a jerking of circle understand
Tell me, Harry, what is the function of a rubber duck?
They are on the Jeep dashboards so that the duckies will float to indicate when the Jeeps are driven too deep in flooded waters. Not a true answer, but it could be. ;)
I was ducked today for my first time & had to come see what it was all about! Super cool
haha it's funny..i was ducked today and did the same thing..like what the F..it is neat!! lol
New jeep trend idea: drive off a steep cliff.
