For safety concerns in rough water or swift current, in the event of an outboard or trolling motor breakdown or during an emergency, co-anglers may operate the trolling motor or the outboard but may not fish anytime from the front deck. Pros may not request that the co-angler not fish.
I asked them not to cast to a specific spot where I had a small school of fish located. With current, the boat got badly out of position while fighting the fish. There is absolutely nothing wrong with me asking politely for my partner to allow me to make the next cast to a small spot that I worked hard to find. The angler can throw anywhere if he/she wishes but out of respect they also have the option to not. I respectfully disagree with your perspective of that situation.
