    Good morning
    Hey Chris I do pallets for firewood just like you have in the beginning of the video.
    I use to buy/use 2x4s for the support brackets. I just started using the the top support bars from the ibc totes. Only work needed is to bend the ends of them in a vise. Screw hole is already drilled😊. Hope this helps take care.

    Well done. Just a question. Why are the splits so small? Boilers want at least slightly bigger pieces for longer burning no?

    • @joeahopelto8032
      @joeahopelto8032 9 дней назад +2

      Perhaps the size has to do with handling pieces that weigh less than 75 lbs. I believe that is the limit set by shipping companies for regular rates.

    • @BertsCustomCuts
      @BertsCustomCuts 9 дней назад +3

      The size of pieces for the boiler doesn't matter. It's also smaller, so Adams mom can handle the wood to load boiler.

    • @iffykidmn8170
      @iffykidmn8170 9 дней назад +1

      @@joeahopelto8032 At times one can fit more wood in the firebox because the smaller pieces will fit in the voids where another large piece will not fit.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  9 дней назад

      Exactly!

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  9 дней назад +2

      1-Adams mom will be filling it most all the time and she is tough but is in here mid seventies. 2- There is a variety of sizes and a lot of boiler people THINK bigger is better but you can actually get more wood in at a time with a variety of sizes filling the voids better with more wood for longer burns....they do have dampers to control the burn rate so more wood in (weight and space wise) lasts longer than a couple huge pieces that do not allow more huge pieces to be put in.
