Characteristics of this song by the Bangles, Vicki and Debbi's on point call and response harmonies, Jules Shear's brilliant songwriting, and Susanna's sweet soprano voice, which here at 52 in this video, is just as sweet as ever. Only reached 29 on Billboard, tremendously underrated song by the Bangles.
I know ! It's so odd that this song did not at least go top ten. They were riding high with "Manic Monday", this was every bit as good. In fact, this is the song that convinced me to buy the "Different Light" album, one of my favorite pop albums ever.
I absolutely love them. I'm always amazed at the beauty of the Petersons voices blending together, even over 50. They have the DNA factor like the Beach Boys did because they were brothers. The Bangles took full advantage of it and we were the lucky recipients of their wonderful harmonies and so much beautiful music.
The Bangles were the first all-female band I ever heard. I was just a kid, and heard Walk Like An Egyptian on the radio, and it blew me away. I've loved them since, and they're all still as cool as the other side of the pillow.
Susanna Hoffs' voice has grown more soulful and richer than it was in the 80's and 90's. If you compare her vocals on this version of the song to 30 years ago, the difference is striking.
Very nice semi-acoustic rendition! Susannah sounds beautiful as always and the Petersons sound great in harmony. I loved the pedal steel background, but Vicki sounded a bit lit she was beating on a couple garbage can lids in an alley somewhere - that sharp sound didn't play well with this softer version.
No matter what age Susanna Hoffs is she always looks 20 something. It's incredible
Magnificent performance

Susanna is 63 now.........and looking and sounding as sexyhot as ever.

Bangles best song easy.
Underrated indeed!!
@@ricthornton2958 IMO their best song, but dwarfed in popularity by Manic Monday and Eternal Flame.
GODDESS BEAUTIFUL SUSANNA HOFFS !!!!😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥
Pedal steel sounds great on this. Matthew sweet vibe ❤

This is one of the best versions.

Susanna gives the best eyes of all time.
She learned at an early age how to cut those eyes!
Susanna is an eternal beauty, my god look at her.
Bud light is representing the back singers 😂
why did the 80's have to end?
Hat tip Jules Shear.
Falta Michelle en el video pero unas genias las chicas no tan chicas y más este tema tan romántico. ❤
Capricorn at her best.
The women age the best
