The Brothers Collection is home to many uncommon Muscle Cars, and this sedate droptop appears misnamed… until you awake the Fury of the 426!

I had a chocolate brown/64 convertible with white top back in /68, seeing this one almost brings tears to my eyes. Mine was a 361 cu. sweetie from Santa Monica, Cal. driving it in Toronto, Canada...having had one and living the life in that era makes me melancoly....sweet machine !

Awesome Fury! I drove a 1964 2 dr hardtop about every day for 12 years in the sixties and seventies. These cars looked great, drove and performed great, and were very well built.

Class, style and purpose, reflecting the people behind the vehicles from Chrysler of that time period. We'll never see it again.

Dad bought a new 64 Plymouth Fury 4-door sedan in sandalwood. First car we had with air conditioning. The 318 V8 had plenty of power and got about 18 mpg. I was 16 when we got it and it is my favorite car. It was smaller than the Galaxie or Impala, but plenty of room for six adults, easier to parallel park and a big trunk. The fit and finish on that Fury was very good. Of course no emission controls or seat belts and those sixties tires were not very good. I'd love to have a 64 Sport Fury convertible just for the neat bucket seat interior. Thanks for your videos and the humor.

Beautiful lines on that Fury! Love those 60's Mopars. That is a museum piece for sure.

Hi Kevin, Really enjoyed listening to your detailed description of the body of the car, and editing in the max wedge showing the difference, the clean editing showing the cars different angles and interior were well done, Thank you, Lou

I had the same car and color with a white top and 361 v8. It did have the console mounted shifter and bucket seats. It came with a dealer installed tonneau cover that covered the interior with top down. Zipper down the middle like an MG. And yes it was a real option with a pentastar stamping on it with a part number.

I love that dash layout. The push button shift and heater are something unique and classic car cool. Too bad there's no tach.

Beautiful styled car. Wonder what the gear ratio was in that car (even though those automatic torque flights could take a beating).

That color was popular in the day, all the auto makers had a version of it, pastels were in vogue. The wedge Hemi is icing on the cake. Btw was that the first year for the Sport Fury?

To Chrysler: I know it would take a miracle, but I want to see these cars come back into your newly-reinstated Plymouth production line just the way they were made. We need this car. ALL of us do, and in a 4 speed. Otherwise, how about detailed plans on how to make a clone?

  • @genogigandet8957

Those rear mounted antennas are not factory and kinda takes away from the car. The antenna would have been mounted on the left side of the cowl panel

In 1964 the only way you could get a true Street wedge motor in a Sport Fury 2 door hard top was to order it.....According to the Galen Govier Mopar guru decoding book...says their were only 3 Street wedge motor in a Sport Fury that were ordered.......I have 1 of the 3 of the true Street wedge matching numbers motor in my Sport Fury 2 door hard top that was to order .......it is the Holly Grail of the 426 era.....Go Mopar Robert San Diego.....!

ROBERT TELLEZ Tell me this, except for the dash and front cap, are the 63 and 64 Fury Convertibles, basically the same ? I have an opportunity to obtain a 64 Fury Convertible, and have a 63 front cap. I prefer the 63. Will my 63 front cap just interchange ? Thank you

It's a beautiful car but it not a Sport Fury. It would have buckets and a tach and the shifter would be on the floor. Also, on the fenders, it doesn't say "Sport Fury."
Believe you me, I would still take it.

    • @cudaus1

Excellent show of a fun car! It appears that if you tried to go from 0-60 in 6.8 seconds on the freeway, you might get into an accident because of handling problems.
