  • My first interaction with the Tama Rhythm Watch was during high school drum line in 1996. From that time it has been my go to metronome. The design hadn't changed much since my first experience back in '96, until this most recent upgraded version.
The RW200 has improved upon many of the previous models' features and design. Here are the notable upgrades I like:
    +Sleaker body design
    +Sturdier feeling knobs and buttons
    +Separate Tap/Tempo button
    +Phones & Line (1/8" & 1/4"). (old version only had 1/8")
+Clear/bluish back light (old version had a greenish tint)
+Toggle up and down through programmed tempos (old version could only go up)
+Tempo doesn't skip when you change the tempo on the fly using the tempo knob. (See video for demo).
*There are additional features that have been added or upgraded that I didn't discuss, these are just the ones that are my personal favorites.

My only complaint is where the on/off switch is. You pretty much have to pick it up to turn it on and off. Minor nit-pick. I think it works great.

i bought a RW200 rhythm wach , ideed i've tested 3 of them and all have a terrible sound on headphones (distorted) , very bad for use in live concert , (i tried different headphones and in ear monitor) , the display light does not work if you use a external pedal to increase programs or start and stop the click , and it is not possible to keep it "on" permanently .
this is not a professional device and more than 90€ are really to much !

Interesting. That’s unfortunate you had so many issues with it. I run my through a small sound board that I use for my in-ears. The sound of this metronome is what I got used to back when I was in drum line, so it’s just what I’ve stuck with over the years.
I agree that it would be a nice feature to have the option to keep the backlight always on. My guess is that it might drain the battery more quickly, so they designed it auto shut off.
I imagine there are a lot more metronome choices out nowadays since I made this review. I hope you are able to find the perfect fit for your needs. Best of luck on your search.
