Cheapest way and fastest way is to use old towels and blankets and staple them to the inside of the cage. It controls the sound really well and it's quick to do. If not I've seen some churches do the acoustic foam which basically does the same thing. Personally I would use a mixture of the foam on the roof and upper walls and then rock wool lower down probably below the toms to tighten the low end a lot.
For the cage, get like a 2 or 3 inch think foam dampening wall, don’t get the cheap square panels. I know from experience 😂 I love that the vlogs are back!!!! Keep up the work 🔥
I know Dr. David Bernard is so proud of you. You are his son in whom he is well pleased 🙌🏼🙏🏼 nothing but love and respect for you, Rev. Bernard. Blessings to your and yours in Jesus mighty name!!
Hello I'm from the Philippines and I watch your drum videos and it was amazing and learned the tactics, style of your drum and i play it to my church. i am a big fan of you
I like them, they really just give you more options. Most of the time I recommend having 2 kick mics, even in a live church setting. One inside one outside, just gives your front of house more options and isolated input from the kick.
Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with TAMBOURINE and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
It's great to see a believer with a servant's heart play with excellence.

I ended up grabbing some cheap panels for a quick fix (you'll see in the next video) but yes, right now I'm working on a better long-term solution!

A great short term solution would be to lower the overheads into an xy pattern that way you cut out the reflections and get more shells than cymbals.
Great idea!

Thanks, Jason. Appreciate that!
I know this is an older video, but how is your drum cage acoustics now? did you do any more dampening inside the cage?
Amazing what you do keep it up.
Thanks for watching!
I couldn’t find the link to the lights you use in cage, the ones that are clamped to over head mics
They're in the description of the video under production stuff! DIY DRUM CAGE LIGHTS - bhpho.to/3lljRxa

Noticed the kit doesn't have a subkick. What are your thoughts on subkicks, are they necessary?

I hear a rogue tambourine player. 😂
Don't remind me 😂
