    My re-review of Dead Man's Shoes. This time with added clips to add more presentation then my last one, due to my lack of editing skills at the time. I've also dedicated this to my late mother, Joanne Longley, who recommended me this film, years ago.
    Dead Man's Shoes is a 2004 British psychological thriller film directed by Shane Meadows and starring Paddy Considine, both of whom co-wrote the film with Paul Fraser. The film also stars Toby Kebbell (in his first film appearance), Gary Stretch and Stuart Wolfenden. It was released in the United Kingdom on 1 October 2004 and in the United States on 12 May 2006. Filming took place in the summer of 2003 over the course of three weeks.

      Cheers man. I did do this originally back in September, but had no idea how to get clips, so I used still images. Now I know to get clips, I decided to redo it, and improve on it.

      Probably not best for a Friday evening, it's pretty harsh, lol. But still thanks for the comment it's greatly appreciated and despite being so dark, it's still worth checking out.

    Most people say This Is England is Shane Meadow's best film, I don't agree not when Dead Mans Shoes exists

      I'm still on the fence, on what his best is, tbh. I might have to rewatch them that all and rank them one day. But yeah, 20 years on, this is still as disturbing and gripping as ever.

    solid review, mate... let's work on those audio levels though 🍻

      Is it the voice over , the clips or both?

    • @atom_gray
      @atom_gray Месяц назад +1

      @@NorthernEnglishBstard1988 the clips are very low relative to the voice-over, so when your voice is at a normal listening volume, it's much too hard to hear the dialogue. You might try previewing your edit on different headphones and speakers if you can before rendering, sometimes that helps.

      @NorthernEnglishBstard1988  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, that explains everything. Usually I have the clips lower, but here it was higher than usual, but some of the dialogue scenes were like that in the original film. Seriously, even on the OG dvd, some dialogues scenes were muffled. Good film but fuck me, the sound mixing was bad in areas.

      @@NorthernEnglishBstard1988 First step for me if I'm cutting clips, is to balance the volume of the source material against my mic at it's usual level. Then save the project, or export the source film better balanced. That way once you start chopping up the source you don't have to adjust evey single clip individually afterwards. Cheers.

      @@NorthernEnglishBstard1988 If you're editing with earbuds or laptop speakers, they're super compressed to compensate for dynamic range. Best to listen on Television or stereo speakers early on, and you'll be able to hear the differences better. 👍🏻
