I have a question You mentioned that the first step of the cellular respiration happend in cytoplasm with mean pyruvate need to get inside the matrix to start the 2 step BUT you also mention that the inter membrane is NOT preamble right . And the only way for the pyruvate to get into matrix is to go through the ATP syntase. How is that possible ?
There are porins on the outer membrane of mitochondria... Which are the multipass transmembrane proteins (transport proteins) and through them the pyruvate enters the mitochondria
I have a two questions: 1) Can the hydrogen ions pumped into the inter membrane "leak" out of the outer membrane into the cytosol? 2) How does ATP leave the mitochondria in order to go to other places in the cell where it is needed? Thank you!
If the outer membrane is permeable to H+, how can the inter membrane space maintain such a low pH? Wouldn't the H+ ions travel down their concentration gradient from the inter membrane space out into the cytosol?
i thought you said inner membranes are not permeable? how did the H ions got out from the matrix? im a computer programmer btw, i have no idea how i got here
Absolutely love Khan academy! But I wish Sal would do all the videos - I literally skip all the videos that are not done by him. And the reason for that is because these ones, done by this lady. are bloody monotonous. Amazing knowledge but seriously...annoys the hell out of me. Whereas when Sal does the videos, you can tell that he is actually super interested and fascinated by the things that he talks about- and that’s how it should be. Loving the stuff that you learn about and teach.
I'm loving this tutorial but DAMN... she needs to write bigger and not do this so quickly... A bit of enthusiasm wouldn't hurt either... Where's Sal...??
Nice, I'm one step closer to becoming a doctor and making bank so I can buy nice stuff, and then find some hot gold digger chick who i'll make sure to not marry so when we split she doesn't take half my money. Then I'll just continue on with my life by going into work, seeing patients and writing them prescriptions, and I can forget 90 percent of what I learned in school because it's not applicable to the actual practicing of medicine. Gnarly.
...is the powerhouse of the cell.
Mitochondria👍
cool gave me a start on the test.... happy though got 95 % ...... love the Khan academy
You are an excellent teacher! Very clear.
The cell is the mitochondria of the powerhouse
So simple 10/10 would recommend so easy to understand 10/10
thank you... explained really well
mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
thank you :)
ITS THE POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL!!!!!!!!!!!
safe to say that atpsynthase is the coolest protein ever!
Super explanation..thanks alot :)
Very well explained !! Thanks for the video.
it's sooo much easy to understand frm here..... gracias
This was helpful. Thank you.
tremendously helpful
@7:05 How does NADH give off two hydrogens? It isn’t balanced.
the powerhouse is the cell of the mitochondria
Thanks! thanks! thanks!

Have u got the answer
@@hannahfuson9469 Thank you :)
@@miyamaha5what was the answer?
why Insulin never mentioned in this stage. Glycolysis related to Sugar metabolism so?
Mossttt helpful video! Thanks!
what happens to the water that is produced in the matrix
Thank you this was so helpful. You made it simple.

the inner membrane has got specialized proteins that can pomp out ions such as H+
I think you forgot to mention that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
I think you forgot the part that you aren't funny
FYI there will be a bunch of copies of the genome in each mitochondrion and a bunch of mitochondria in each cell...
why is nadh creating 2 H+? Did she make a mistake?
+Stefan Thorarensen I think it should just be H+... then the equation will be balanced in both charges and atoms
So much chemistry and physics 😱 life is so fascinating and so difficult to understand 😆

You wrote a whole essay when all you had to do was fuck off

You need to go on a diet, get a brain cell and fuck off
slay video
she shows no expression its hard to even stay awake ....
+damiangaming43 awwwww
+damiangaming43 shut up and kiss me ya big hunk
i dont get it...is he your boyfriend?
There is expression in every word, stop blaming mommy for your own problems
but the membrane docent even have a border control!?!?!
there is a check point charlie, watching out for counterintelligence agents trying to infiltrate the membrane
hmm, ur right maybe if we increase the amount a chlorophyll we can keep out the amoeba... GENIUS
was not a male presenter in the channel? I loved the way he thought
thought or taught ?
The khan academy guy is so much more interesting to listen to. Good vid tho

WOW, bitterness is eating you alive.
damn
not very exciting...
lousy presentation! she talk about energy but she has low energy in her narration!
