This is incorrect. The ride will traverse the layout twice per cycle. First, the train launches backward into the spike. Then, it will complete the layout forward. It will once again go up the spike before repeating the course in reverse. The train traverses the spike one last time before stopping in the station.
I think this is perfect for a family coaster!
Plus this is a great layout, lots of elements packed in a tight space! Great thinking!
