- New stucco texture after removing awnings, Crack repairs using caulking.
FYI, once we removed the useless stucco covering the stucco crack, we used three full tubes of polyurethane caulking to fill it; that was a mighty big crack that started from the rooftop.
We would have shown that important process. However, only so much information can be explained to keep these videos as short as possible.

Thank you, Madeleine used to work with us for years, before becoming a marine Biologist., working now for the government. She could plaster as well if not better than most men, And used to carry two planks on her shoulder as easily as I could. Things that make you go hmmm.

Love the show guys. Can you use primer paint as your bonding agent in this application or on wood lath?
Excellent question, No. Primer is used before painting. Primers make the top surface or paint last much longer. A bonding agent is used to adhere stucco to painted surfaces. In this video, we used the Bonding agent called "Weld-Crete" by Larsons. Quikrete also works and is found at all hardware stores.
Should I water after I put color code ? I put bonding agent on and placed color code to smooth a wall … I listen to you and placed 16/20 over heavy knock down … I’m afraid that it drys to fast … it’s a porch wall under a roof not really much sun about 80 degrees here in Arizona… should I water mist it ? To keep it from drying to fast ???
You only hydrate the base coat, if you hydrate a color coat it will discolor like pouring clorox on bluejeans.
Instead before you apply a color coat, you soak or hydrate the base-coat walls. This allows the color finish to adhere permanently. There are lots of rules to cover here, type in hydrating stucco walls for more information.
I need to add awnings to the South side of my stucco house!! But not the cloth ones, want to add wood framed awnings. We have no eave around our house and I want to protect the windows from the PNW rain.
You can do that. Their great for staying dry from the rain. These awnings got tossed and were in excellent condition. The new owners just didn't like the look.
Oh, I have a stucco house. What sort of contraptions do you make to get to hard to reach, high areas? I cannot break my neck, but want to fix some woodpecker damaged areas.

Why sponge it literally after throwing it one, does it not have to set, coming from an Irish plaster, plus no featheredge
If I may, Europeans have a way with Render (we call stucco) that most Americans cannot achieve so you have to trust ol’ Kirk was doing what matched best with the work someone else left him when they did the first stucco job. Plus to match the old dash finish I think floating early with a sponge to bring out some rougher sand will match better after a coat of primer and paint.

Sydney is referring to what appears to be a person behind the folliage at the very end of the video of the family on the front step. Right against the house something appears to move, very difficult to see.
Hard for me to guess what that is ?
