STUDIO GHIBLI FEST is back in theaters in its biggest year yet. In 2023, Studio Ghibli Fest broke box office records with the first-ever nationwide retrospective of director Hayao Miyazaki’s works. Now, coming off the blockbuster theatrical release and triumphant Oscar win for Hayao Miyazaki’s latest feature THE BOY AND THE HERON, GKIDS and Fathom are thrilled for audiences to continue to celebrate this iconic studio, with an all-new selection of fan favorites and iconic titles alike.
This year’s lineup highlights the works of studio co-founders Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, as well as directors Yoshifumi Kondo, Hiroyuki Morita, and Hiromasa Yonebayashi. In celebration of Hayao Miyazaki’s recent Oscar win, Studio Ghibli Fest 2024 kicks off with the acclaimed director’s previous Academy Award-winning feature, SPIRITED AWAY, which took home the Oscar in 2001. The lineup additionally includes special celebrations for the Howl’s Moving Castle 20th Anniversary, Kiki’s Delivery Service 25th Anniversary, and Pom Poko 30th Anniversary. GKIDS are proud to continue their partnership with Fathom and expand STUDIO GHIBLI FEST 2024 to even more play dates than ever to meet increased fan demand.
Each of the 14 animated features will be shown in both original Japanese and English dubbed versions and will include surprise special extra content as well. Кино
Whisper of the Heart we are so back
My second favorite Ghibli film (narrowly beaten by Poppy Hill).
Think one could get the whole theater to sing along with Country Roads?
@@ChrisJones-gx7fci would DEFFO JOIN!
That and the Cat Returns we are EATING
@@ChrisJones-gx7fc That would amazing!
This might possibly be the most stacked line-up I’ve ever seen god damn
Missing _Grave of the Fireflies_ but we love to see Whisper of the Heart
PAZU: Hold On, SHEETA!
Studio Ghibli Fest is the Best!!! Who else agrees?
Gives me a reason to go to the theatres
Last year was my first time doing Ghibli Fest, this will be my second!
I agree!
@@undoneonion90 mine too
I definitely agree! 😊
Me: So, what movies are you releasing this year's Ghibli Fest, GKIDS?
GKIDS: Yes.
VALLEY OF THE WIND 🍃
I LOVE Nausicaa, but at the very end, they borked the closing. When they remastered it, they included a Stereo 5.1 version(?) version of the closing title song and it is no longer the smooth closing that the original version had. I love to see it in theaters, but the cringe for me at the end sours the experience.
@@FerrisSOCALI’m curious, how is the ending cringe
@@m1sunderstxxd The ending is fine. I just have old copies from before the sound upgrade that were more natural. There's the finale, but they have dead air there after until the credits role. Kinda breaks the immersion.
@@FerrisSOCAL ohh I see I did not know that
The Studio Ghibli Fest is back, baby! We're going to the Ghibli World! Also, congratulations to Hayao Miyazaki for the award to his movie "The Boy and the Heron". And congratulations to the crew at Studio Ghibli.
When Marnie Was Here in theaters is going to change my life
Abso-fuckin-lutely
This is the most stacked Ghibli Fest ever. I encourage everyone to see as many of these movies as possible. They're all classics.
So excited! I’ve gone to every Studio Ghibli fest movie the past 2 years!
Damn I missed more than half of them
That's AWESOME!!!!!
Oh my god I’m about to scream! These films are truly the greatest
This is my time to finally see Princess Kaguya. It’s been at the top of my must watch list for the few Ghibli films I’ve yet to see, and what better way to see it than on the big screen (and I’m happy to wait till then).
My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service Japanese Masterpieces!! 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵💯💯💯💯
So many great memories with these movies saw a lot of them on CN
I love to see that everyone has their own favorite film from Studio Ghibli. It proves that all of them are that gooood
OMG YAAAAY!!!! It makes me so happy that they do these every year!!!!! "WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE" IS SO UNDERRATED ❤🎉🎉🎉
Hot take: When Marnie Was There is my 2nd favorite Ghibli film right behind Spirited Away. It needs to be on the conversation of the best Ghibli movies more
After the win at the oscars. It seems gkids are heavenly follow studio ghibli now
I watched them all and I love them all such wonderful masterpieces
Whisper of the Heart…. I’m getting chills thinking about hearing that first line of Country Road hit in surround sounds as the title sequence opens…
Just seeing these scenes fills my heart with so much joy
Some of the movies that warms my soul the most
🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
I have this entire collection at home but would definitely enjoy watching it on the big screen!!
Watched Nausicaa last year for Ghibli Fest. Def was a great to experience the film on the big screen.
Yay! I've been checking this daily for weeks!
Finally!! Tale of Princess Kaguya!
They gotta do the Totoro/Fireflies double feature like they did back when they originally released in Japan. But the order should be randomized, so audiences don't know which comes first.
It’s good that GKIDS has the theatrical rights to Grave of the Fireflies, but they need to get the home video and streaming rights too.
ADV/Sentai’s releases are too hard to come across.
I'm pretty sure they did something like that in Saw 3
Imagine if WB and Universal worked on an official Barbenheimer double feature. But you never know which film shows up first.
im gonna see as many as possible
This is amazing I want to see them all 🤩
This is a great trailer to introduce Studio Ghibli
This is going to be awesome!!
I love Studio Ghibli films ❤ Thank you Hayao Miyazaki for bringing us all of these beauties 🥹
Studio Ghibli...
A heartfelt touch with every story....
So many memories....
Come to Indonesia, please!
❤😮😊🎉 so long I have been waited.
OH MY GOD!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
LET’S GOOOOOOOOO
Yes! 🎊
Whoa! I love this again all the more
Princess Kaguya?? I would kill to see that on the big screen
Yeah Kiki is on my birthday 🥳
Thanks for Arrietty in particular!
This is my first year watching any of these films. I do wish that some were spaced out a little more. I wasn’t able to go watch Castle in the Sky because the nearest showing was 1 hour away. Hopefully I can catch it next year.
About 8 years ago i saw Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky in theaters and it was a blast.
Awesome 🤩
Thanks for showing End of Evangelion last week. You guys are great.
What a masterpiece that film was.
Let's go!!! It's here :)
This is gonna be my second Ghibli Fest, I attended last year's lineup.
Pom Poko finally returns to theaters!
Finally!
Oh, I’m so hyped for this! Let’s goooo! 😁 Also, congrats to Miyazaki and all of the people behind “The Boy And The Heron” for the Academy Award win for Best Animated Feature. 🥳👏 Some of these films I have never seen before, so it’ll be exciting to see on the big screen, especially “Whisper Of The Heart” and “The Tale Of Princess Kaguya” in theaters. 🤩
Wow, this is definitely the most jam-packed Studio Ghibli Fest yet! I always enjoy getting to see these iconic anime films on the big screen every year, and it's nice to know GKIDS is going all out with it in 2024. My only complaint is that My Neighbors the Yamadas isn't included. This year marks the 25th anniversary of that movie, and it's never been in a Studio Ghibli Fest before.
The adventure has begun🍃💨🌊🔥
Let's GOOO
seven years still going strong!

Is it possible for #GhibliFest 2024 to also make its way to India?
BTW congratulations to Hayao Miyazaki for the award to his movie "The Boy and the Heron".
And congratulations to the crew at Studio Ghibli.
HOLY YES
AAHH!! I am so thrilled about this!! Are they gonna do it globally or is it only in America?
That is coming to Australia

Fathom Events said that the preshow is now 10 minutes in 2024. Plus, I can’t wait for STUDIO GHIBLI FEST 2024!
Ah Snap, here we go again!
YOOOOO
My local theater doesn't have Castle in the Sky in the lineup. Help Gkids, you're my only hope.
Any idea if this'll be showing in the middle east? I live in Abu Dhabi. Me and my wife loooove Ghibli so much!!!
They should include Lupin III the Castle of Cagliostro it was a special movie miyazaki to make specially his first directorial movie.
I going to watch them all at AMC Theatres!
The best of the inspirational Studio Ghibli movies with the finest movie directors of all time!
Hayao Miyazaki, the 2-time academy award winning director of Spirited Away and The Boy and the Heron.
Isao Takahata, the director of The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, Pom Poko and Grave of the Fireflies.
Yoshifumi Kondo, the director of Whisper of the Heart.
Hiroyuki Morita, the director of The Cat Returns.
Hiromasa Yonebayashi, the director of When Marnie Was There and The Secret World of Arrietty.
Congratulations to the legendary Hayao Miyazaki for winning the second award.
Even before Studio Ghibli was born, Hayao Miyazaki directed both episode 145 and the final episode of Lupin The 3rd.
Hayao Miyazaki has also directed Lupin The 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro.
Hiromasa Yonebayashi did the magnificent job as both co-written and director of Studio Ponoc's Mary and the Witch's Flower.
Hiroyuki Morita is also the great director of the sixth TV Special of the One Piece anime franchise series Episode of Luffy: Adventure on Hand Island.
The late Yoshifumi Kondo was a good director of Whisper of the Heart, and he would have made the great successor of Studio Ghibli.
And last but certainly not least, I can't start the celebration of Studio Ghibli Fest 2024 without saying the few words of the late Isao Takahata.
Isao Takahata was the great co-founder and one of the greatest legendary directors of many Studio Ghibli movies, including Grave of the Fireflies, which was his very first Studio Ghibli directorial debut.
Isao Takahata's final Studio Ghibli masterpiece movie was The Tale of The Princess Kaguya.
Grave of the Fireflies won't be part of the Studio Ghibli Fest this year, but it is still one of my favorite Studio Ghibli movies of all time.
It's time for Studio Ghibli Fest 2024 and the very happy 20th anniversary to Fathom Events!
BANZAI!
Is this happening in the uk. If so 2024 is the best year of the decade
I am going to watch them all at AMC Theatres!

Man you guys are so lucky. They don't have Ghibli fest in Britain.
F
Thanks to Hayao Miyazaki! He did found a way to bring 2D Handdrawn Animation back to life.
Hey guys, what's your favorite studio Ghibli movie?
Mine has been Ponyo for a while now.
Whisper of the Heart is the perfect comfort movie imo
FUJIMOTO: Now, You’re Mine!
Princess M)
From Up on Poppy Hill, followed closely by Whisper of the Heart. I’ve seen most of the Ghibli films, including all the Hayao Miyazaki ones, and while all amazing I tend to prefer the simpler slice of life stories. As for my #1, I enjoy Poppy Hill’s soundtrack slightly more than Whisper’s (both are great, as are the ones for all their films).
im watching all the ones I haven't seen in theaters (which is most of the line-up) but I think spirited away will always get my vote for favorite.
Watched it countless times as a kid into my adult years. A true timeless classic.
I'll handle a playthrough of the original HD Sonic Generations on the PS3 at home.
Is it coming worldwide, or just in English-speaking countries + Japan?
i really wish this happens in india as well
love them all but for me it’s just got to be TOTORO!
What about The Grave of The Fireflies ?
1st 2022 2 years ago, then 2023 last year & now 2024 this year. What’s next, 2025 next year? Just Incase if some of us never got the chance to see like Spirited Away? Wait a minute, where’s Tales from Earthsea? I don’t see that Studio Ghibli feature anywhere. Well, here’s for Spirited Away & Tales from Earthsea next year. Right now I better get ready for Kiki’s Delivery Service in Dubbed English this time. At least I saw My Neighbor Totoro in Dubbed English last year.
Is this available only in japan?
I have watched Castle in the Sky, Ponyo, and Spirited Away (live action) what to watch next in theaters?
Howl's moving castle and Princess Mononoke are ones u should totally watch
wind rises isnt here im sobbing
Please tell me this is happening in Canadian Theaters as well
Nice, but can we do a Cartoon Saloon fest next?
No only yesterday :(
Doesn’t studio Ghibli fest come to USA
Why no Boy and the Heron? Where is the blu ray/4k release of Boy and the Heron?
I know that we all cannot wait for GKIDS blu-ray/DVD release of The Boy and the Heron, but we just have to be patient.
Ghibli films are usually released in Japan a year after theatrical release, and since GKIDS is always faithful in sourcing in that they are matching the Japanese release as much as possible in terms of quality and extra content, they cannot put out a release until after the Japanese release. Japanese release might come out in July, which means fall/winter for GKIDS release.
And whether or not this film gets a 4K release depends on the Japanese distributors, not just GKIDS, but I have no doubt that when GKIDS puts it out, it will be the best release possible that completely honors the recognition that the film deserves
(except Spirited Away needs to be near Halloween like they've been doing it)
HAAAAAM
what is the song thats playing
Nvm found it its a town with an ocean view
