@@TheNova51 Dude, considering the absolutely miniscule amount of data that could be fit on a SNES cartridge by today's standards, the amount of audio and visual content they were able to squeeze in using clever use of compression is incredible.
@@TheNova51 I'd rather say that Sega was way ahead of the current generation in terms of graphics textures, like Sega DreamCast (their last console). It has almost, if not the same or better, the same texture as PS2 during the same time PS1 was making its impression on people, so I agree with you
I've never played a DKC game in my life. I've just discovered it has the most glorious soundtrack while listening to nintendo music compilations for studying

Playing the game to this music is where the experience is at! You don't realize the effect it has on you at the time but when you come back and listen to the music brings up memories you never knew you made.

Seriously, kudos to Rare. They went above in each aspect of the DKC series so much that we are still today connecting to + appreciating everything they poured into it . Would love to hear Dave Wise's comments on the restorations.
It's pretty amazing how Donkey Kong Country has a soundtrack that's right on the level of the JRPG who had released back then, like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger.

Not exactly, Jammin Sam Miller resynthisized the tracks to sound more like they would have sounded before compression, it’s more of an imagining than a full uncompression, they are very well made though

It’s literally a jungle-ape-like instrument melody tip-toeing over a scary-factory-treadmill-apparatus beat (0:29). As a kid playing these games you don’t quite know why you are having so much fun, but this type of thing is part of it. Brilliant! 😁
