I was lucky enough to see Town get promoted in 2000, went to 20+ games with my Dad as a 15 year old. Then the 5th place finish in the Prem and qualifying for Europe in our 1st season was mind blowing and the highest I’ve ever seen us finish, those were an incredible 2 years. With George Burley and Marcus Stewart. And I feel like this squad, with this manager are even more special.

This is my second FC I am simping and supporting (after Arsenal). I believe that Ipswich Town F.C. would be in the Top 10 on the 24/25 Prem League (and that is if the players would do their best).
Now, the town has a great future economically. Great future to look ahead.
I was in Sainsbury's getting beers ...like a few others, as couldn't get served at the Cock & Pye. They were raking it in but the spontaneous chorus of "he's magic, you know...JS " was not something I've noticed before 😂

Well Alex. I saw Ray Crawford score an equaliser against Blackburn Rovers in the 67'68 season which got Town promoted back into the top tier. And also seen everything since. You speak about what players Town will bring in. My first retort to that is after the shambles in League One. Which manager did you expect Town to bring in under Gamechanger 20? I would imagine Kieran McKenna was not at the top of your list or any other Town fan for that matter. All things since then have taught me since then, to always expect the unexpected. So going back to your question about which players Town will bring in? I do indeed think, that whatever the speculation is in the media. Expect the unexpected! What an amazing moment it was last Saturday! I’m still high on emotions and the fact we got promoted to the Premier League in our first season back in the Championship with a squad worth less than one Leeds player alone is unreal. Dreams really do come true and Premier League, here we come!

I think we will surprise a few next season and finish 14th and comfortably stay up on 45 points. We definitely need some heavy investment into this squad due to the massive gap between the championship and the Premier League, Eddie Nketiah is the sort of player I would like to see Ipswich sign 💙🚜

I was younger than you are now when, with my brother ,we would meet the Ipswich bus to pick up a bundle of Green Uns to distribute around the village of Holbrook on a Saturday evening, that was social media then.
I'm one of those who would drag our children to Portman Road to pass on the torch and get my deep love for this club but sadly there wasn't much to cheer about if you're born 20 /30 years ago
As we know, near misses of repeating Sir Alf under Sir Bobby fell just short but still we became one of the biggest clubs in Europe winning the F.A. cup and the U.A.F.A.cup.( which was much tougher than the European cup).
I saw it all.
My point is that a helluva lot of you now. who just heard about it have lit the flames that i thought had been lost i cannot tell you how much it means to old geezers like me.

My only issue is, the current squad have been integral to getting to this position and they should be applauded!!! With the influx of the new money are they going to be dropped for new, more expensive talent, I guess so and that is part of collateral damage when being promoted :(

We need to shore up the defense. That should be priority. We can score, we have a decent midfield. The defense is lacking. A quality central defender or two would be great

Thank you for all the great videos throughout the season, Alex. What I would like to see this summer (apart from England winning the Euro's) is more of Griff Dad telling jokes. 11 out of 10.
Just to be playing at some of the most iconic stadiums in the country is a victory in itself. Keeping behind the players and supporting them when the tough score lines come along, and they will, is so important to keep their confidence high and I know every supporter will sing their heart out for these amazing players, manager and staff that have taken us back to where we belong. Living myself in Sussex I should be able to make some away games to Brighton and London so would be great to catch up with you Alex, hopefully. Keep up the great content.

When it comes to transfer rumours I follow Ben Bloom's policy of not believing them until the player is at the ground holding up a shirt and/or club scarf. We now have a board and manager who know what they're doing and I'm confident they'll sign the right players. Next season will be a challenge but Kieran McKenna, his team and the players have worked very hard to get automatic promotion. Two final points, thanks for your videos during the season, Alex; I no longer live in Ipswich so the videos help me maintain a bond with the club I support. Secondly, when I was growing up Ipswich were flying high in the old first division (I'm an old git in other words) as well as in the UEFA Cup. Your generation missed out on that but instead of "supporting" Liverpool or Manchester City you stuck with your local club.... and it paid off! By the way, your 23/24 Championship predictions were very good.

When we buy. We need players who will fit the style of play. Not big names that just empty the bank account and then leave. Buy the loaners if they want to stay. Learn from the Burley mistakes.
Then look for who is available from teams relegated? It's likely we'll be at the bottom end of the table and so we should get the players who will be willing to fight the battle.
Reward any players who are asked to step into the reserves to make room for new players. It's them that got us into the premiership. Keep that team spirit at all costs.

You looked like a kid and your interview with Cod's Vlogs lad made him look about 12. It was really toxic amongst the fans that night with Evans Out being shouted throughout. Terrible times. We won't buy any expensive players KM will have the recruiting team looking for very fit guys with great feet. Everything else needed he will teach. We have 6 players who will start next season. 5 more required. Hutchinson and Sarmiento could be two of them. Then one midfielder plus 2 defenders. That's for the starting 11. The bench will also need upgrading if possible

The wage bill will treble, we will need to sign (including loans) 4/5/6 players, and in the PL, it is only possible to have 2 loans.
Sarmiento could be one, maybe Hutchinson the other, unless we can somehow buy him.
So far, the transfer business since Mc Kenna and Ashton have been at the club together has been outstanding.
Due to the reputation Ashton and Mc Kenna now have, and the success of Hutchinson, we will not have an issue attracting brilliant loanees.
I would love it we go for Sheaff from Coventry and Greaves from Hull.

Ipswich have not been in a position (either financially or based on their league position) over the last 20 years to beat their transfer record, and transfer fees have escalated beyond all sense since 2001. I would like to see Ipswich sign Hutchinson and Sarmiento in particular. The priority though is to shore up the defence - as much as I would love the players that earned promotion get to play in the PL I don't think they are quite at the standard required.
