The Tom DeLonge Stratocaster is loaded with a Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker for immense output and turbo-charged tone that’s perfect for chunky power chords and crunchy riffs. Great demo dude. If you get this guitar and want to mod it by adding a loaded pickguard would it just swap out or would you actually have to do any adjustments to make it fit? One critique if I had to come up with one, should demo some different genres to get an overall playability demo. Still really good video and a great job on the specs and such. By the way, you should be in a pirates in the Caribbean movie.

It's kinda surreal to see this guitar back as a "new" release. It was a holy grail for so many years, countless partscasters had to do the trick.

It is a partscaster. There is nothing interesting about this guitar. In fact building your own from parts is more punk
@RUclipsr-bx3gv Respectfully disagree. Ive seen alot of QC complaints about this new version, sharp fret ends, misaligned bridges or necks, and those are just from well known youtubers. If you have even just some experience setting up guitars or modding, its pretty straight forward to build this model. In fact i'd say its the perfect first partscaster build for its simplicity.
You can find good quality afternarket hardtail bodies all over reverb or ebay, even gfs or eden if you want to same some money for still decent quality. The electronics and a standard c shaped cbs rosewood neck with the black truss rod plug is also super easy to find, and you can find them ready to play for a bit more. All together it would still be less than the starting price tag for these.
I would defend this guitar a lot more if it had the truss rod adjustment at the heel and modern tuners like the ones tom actually played. Its still a cheaper mim strat in the end.
I built my own but it didn’t feel as emotionally significant as my legit TD strat that was stolen from me.

@@PMTVUK Well...I'm sure the player has a lot to do with it as well. You can put the pickup and guitar into different hands and get totally different sounds. Dagan is an awesome player.

If you are in a punk band, definitely go with yellow, blue and green will look like tom rip off man. plus, yellow will get the attention you need.

The best example of this is when an average concert goer sees a guitarist in a band playing a dean ML they automatically think they were inspired by dimebag. I still stand behind yellow will get you noticed better than the other three.

Pre ordered today doesn't arrive in Australia til Feb next year but i got mu old one til then I getting yellow this time
If they make a squire version, I am getting one. furthermore, if they still have one when I can save up for it, I'll get the green one. The best part is it is string through and modable because it does have three routes which is two pickup slots besides the humbucker you see.
I saw that its spec is its not routed. Its solid under that pick guard as the originals were. I own an original. I think the og MIM Tom's were routed for all pick ups; the Squire and American Tom's had no routing other then the bridge and volume. Wood is good.

@@goodmorningrunner I play bass but am a nerd for specs and info on both. I was not aware that some fenders or squires wouldn't be routed for all three. I guess tone differences, but I doubt it would have that big of an effect on it. When I was younger I hated fender because it seemed everyone played one. These days I like all brands, just not all models.
You can always do what I did. Buy a $200 squier sonic ht h and throw an Invader in the bridge. Looks pretty dope in shell pink too. And it is routed for 3 pickups, should you want to mod 😃🤘

It looks lovely and sounds nice enough. But if I'm being honest there's just not enough value here to justify the price tag.

It definitely isn't a great value guitar. Even with the Seymour Duncan, it's still being marked up like $400 from other made in Mexico stratocasters. But who knows, it's limited edition, so the resale value might go up a lot in a couple years like with the original releases. Definitely a purchase for Blink fans, not guitar players in general

They need to bring back the Squier version cause at $1299 USD, that's gonna roughly be $1789 CDN PLUS tax, so over $2000 out the door!! A bit much for a simple, albeit , great guitar! A Squier version at about $5-600 would be a better selling guitar. Then again Fender is probably going after the Blink fans that are now professionals(lawyers, etc) in their late 30s to mid 40s where $2000 isn't much to them, but in these inflationary times, that's still a lot of coin!

Something about single pickup guitars just hit different. They resonate more and the pickups just sound hotter. Less interference from the neck and middle pickup I think.
Hence why the LP Jr. is so beloved. Listen to sound demos between LP specials and LP Jr’s, the bridge pickup on the Jrs always sound better. I own a LP special for its extra versatility, but would still love a LP Jr for the reasons above.

Right, I never post comments on stuff let alone negative comments but I think this guitar is getting far too much praise and Fender and Tom Delonge should seriously be a bit ashamed.
This is a made in Mexico strat which are great instruments, I have one myself but they cost £679.
An invader pickup can be bought for £126.
A new pickguard can be bought for no more than £10.
A mono gig bag can be bought for £150.
I've had pickups installed and routing on guitars for £50 by my local guitar tech.
That brings the cost to £1015 and that's with an expensive gig bag that you don't necessarily need to buy.
This is far too overpriced for what it is. I love Blink 182 and this has nothing to do with Tom Delonge as a person. But if you're a band with a punk attitude charging £1300 for a simple guitar like this is a joke.
If he genuinely wanted to make a guitar for people with a punk attitude and new players who want to follow in his footsteps he and fender would make it a more reasonable price.

Ed O'brien made this guitar for young players who want to be able to play like him and actually make a quality instrument at a correct price. He made this instrument with genuine care for the consumer.
This on the other hand is a SHAMELESS CASH GRAB. This has nothing to do with love of fans, this is a way of making a shit tonne of money off a guitar that isn't worth it.
This guitar is a good guitar. Fender quality and sounds very solid and professional. I have listen so many guitars this last years and this one seems interesting not just for punk. I see 80's heavy vibes there too.
