I was born in Curacao and went to visit Kura Hulanda Museum and felt so sensitive. I felt there were spirits attached to the heavy chains and relics. I appreciate visiting this Museum.

I really loved this video. I briefly visited Curacao (literally less than 5 hours) while I was on a cruise last year, and I've been in love with the island since. Your shedding light on the islands involvement in the African diaspora is such a great thing. Thank you!

Nice video. I will vacation in Curacao later this year and one of the main reasons I picked it was the African influence. I am excited about visiting the museum, learning more about the African diaspora impact on Curacao.

Thank you so much for this informative documentary about this unsung island. I never even knew it existed until recently and I never hear people from the Northern Caribe islands speak about this island. This video has given me all of the answers to the questions I had.
    Thank you!

Absolutely! Keep doing your thing. We need more women of color telling the stories of our people from the diaspora and worldwide. Phenomenal presentation! Many blessings!

I’m from Curaçao and I agree with some of the things that has been said. Some of the locals are not denying this because of being embarrassed of African background,But many don’t want to talk about it because it happened in the past and people want to heal!! Many of us didn’t want to stay in the mental slavery mind set. The pictures that was shown from some black celebrities that bleached their skin is not from Curaçao.

as much as i hate to be like this but no writing and religion didnt start there except if you count animism as a religion ? but thats like saying buddism is a religion but its more like a philisophy and tradition or way of life . . but yea the out of africa theory does seem to point at africa as the place from where homo sapiens originate after the mega continents split and then the homo spaiens expierienced change after 10s of thousands of years groups like asians and european originated and diverged around sumeru aka modern day iraq and syria etc and the first writing originated there even before egypt and from there it all continued
do better research because misinformation about history is harmful in many ways
