India, Saudi Arabia To Trade In Rupees?

The de-dollarisation spree continues. After Russia and Iran expressed willingness to explore local currencies for trade, it's India and Saudi Arabia now who have begun talks to institutionalize Rupee-Riyal trade.
India's Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal was on a two-day visit to Riyadh on 18th and 19th September where he chaired a ministerial meeting with his Saudi counterpart - with the rupee-riyal trade high on the agenda.
