At this point he’s 35 and he’s still world class. You can’t even name me 10 other players in history who have played at this level at 35 or above. Messi is playing really well..once the ball is in his feet, he is always dangerous. His passing is just accurate and we all know about his tactical awareness..i want them to lose against netherland as iam from brasil..no hate against Argentine but we want to win this time.
Only one who I can think of at the same age who was utterly brilliant too was Ryan Giggs..both wonderful pl layers and pleasure to watch. Messi the other night was a joy, what we all want to see on a football pitch
In the netherlands we have a common tactic. To the team that does not want the ball. (those who play counter attack, sit back, ''reactive'' football) We give the ball! Because this will force a lot of mistakes out of them
Thats after you have identified the weak link, where you know you can win the ball back easily, and then attack that area. Now overstanding , why Dutch teams.don't fear well against Italian teams, though they counter attack and sit back, they also know how to use those ball possessions wisely. Not a game to play with them.
Win 3 more matches for Argentina and Messi. That would be a fairtytale.Hope that Di Maria will be fit in the next match, as he will have to help unlock the dutch defences. This time around , they have Alvarez

@@kumaranimesh09 Don't worry, Messi will do it against Brazil too. Just like he did under a year ago in the Copa. Then what will you say? Pathetic hater...
@@Gregorrin Just because I'm not sucking off Messi doesn't mean I'm a hater. Also, Messi was anonymous in that Brazil game you mentioned and Di Maria was the best player on the pitch.
Zidane was 34 in the 2006 WC, what he did to Brazil I don't think Messi could do. I still think Messi is the goat 🐐 though
I would say luka modric who is still playing at an extreme level at the age of 37
I have not seen, nor heard about any other Footballer that has played in such an extraordinary way.
Let’s face it: Messi has aged like fine wine! People have been saying this about Ronaldo since he turned 30 but I’ve never really heard anyone say that about Messi. At this point he’s 35 and he’s still world class. You can’t even name me 10 other players in history who have played at this level at 35 or above. He’s by far the most talented football player of all time. Even with declining fitness his talent allows him to stay at the top at such a high age!
You would be suprised if you google that statement. Baggio is at no#6 on that list and Giggs is no# 1
Mentioning ronaldo here was not even necessary man was still competing for the golden boot in Italy at 35
Sure, just look at Luka Modric's Champions League performances last season
Messi is playing really well..once the ball is in his feet, he is always dangerous. His passing is just accurate and we all know about his tactical awareness..i want them to lose against netherland as iam from brasil..no hate against Argentine but we want to win this time.
Yes Modric ..
Frank getting up was quite refreshing lol
Sir Stanley Matthews was still crushing it in his 40s. More modern Modric is up there too.
We always ignore Modric to hype others lol.
Modric 🤷♂️
Luka Modric
Modric is finished
@@elmagnifico1 go home bro 😂😂😂
Weren’t you pundits talking about “should messi be taking pens for Argentina” and doubting him just last game? So called “experts”🤣🤣🤣💀
Modric has been playing at a higher Level than messi in the last 2 years lets not kid anyone here..
(those who play counter attack, sit back, ''reactive'' football)
We give the ball!
LVG is smart. he knows his team and knows how they win....
Maybe. But remember this side is stronger than 2014 argentina team - Netherlands on the other side is weaker
@@MrKaravaj not quite, this present Netherlands side is stronger defensively and younger than the 2014 team
@@christopherelie9914 they don’t have the attack to touch that argentine defense…
@@christopherelie9914 In that sense yes you are right
Win 3 more matches for Argentina and Messi. That would be a fairtytale.Hope that Di Maria will be fit in the next match, as he will have to help unlock the dutch defences. This time around , they have Alvarez
you forgot Modric. He is amasing too!
I love this all defender panel!!
Can we please talk about Mario’s shirt that depicts the teams he’s played for? That is absolutely dope ❤❤❤
Holland, Chelsea, Ajax, Birmingham, Rennes, Wigan
Roger Miller!!!! How can we forget
My praying just want to see Messi lift the World Cup trophy in the final match 🙌🙌🙏🙌🙌 let's all MESSI fans around the world together united with prayers for Messi 🌟🙌🙏🙌🌟😌👌😃👌
Amen 🙏🏾
Messi Messi Messi.
Whenever he is at the pitch , he just walking and find where the spaces are
Parabéns Grande Messi beijinho😍😍
I’d hope this one, wouldn’t even be up for debate
Considering he’s been playing at the highest level for about 20 years, and how many people have tried to break his leg.
How he is still maintaining this level and level of fitness baffles me.
You can see players like Rooney, Suarez, Bale, who slowed down tremendously around this age but not Messi.
I think I love Frank in the studio
Wishing to see him more often
There are players and there is Messi. Take the man out of the equation.
Take Messi out of the team do Argentina still have a chance of winning the world cup the answer is yes of course they do..Take Maradona out of the 1986 Argentina team would that Argentina team of won the world cup probably not..Does that answer your question.??
@@thebat7048 I didn’t ask questions
@@Daniel-fe5pd Well you did 🤔
@@thebat7048 You're comparing a 26 year old Maradona to a 35 year old Messi. Just look at Maradona at 35 compared to Messi now. That underlines further why Messi is the greatest ever, considering his longevity.
Man don't be delusional....Do you really think argentina can win wc without Messi?
If we talk about team France, England, Brazil are favorites but still I feels like they have a passion to win these games.
I, for one, am going to miss Frank in the studio!
Is he leaving ESPN anytime soon??
@@DiReal_Donclassy No, he’s just going back to France so he won’t be live in the studio anymore. I’m sure we’ll continue see him from his home studio, though!
His touches,dribbles,passes,play with ball
World cup or not he's the greatest ever
Ronaldo was at juve at 35.... and what he acheived there I dont think anyone could do that 🙌🏻
He achieved to drag down the dominant team in Seria to like an average team
Bro scored over a 100 goals for them in 3 season, scored literally all the goals for them in champions league.... yes the team play wasnt very good but it isnt very good now is it ? and hasnt ever been good since juve lost that final... so i dont know how much of that you can blame on him
@@collapsingspace
It's true He scored goals but overall the team becomes weak as it was design to only cross the ball for him, there's no playmaking.
Last season in Man UTd, we see it again where he scored the goals but it weaken the team chemistry, hence dragging the team structure overall.
And if you think he scored goals he's done his job, NO, for eg. Man Utd the season before him score about 70-80 goals overall and 2nd position, then the season with him scored about 50 goals and in 6th place
@@BandamameDkhar i see ur point and thats a separate argument about the effect he has on team but individually he was pretty swell at 35-37 is what i am saying.
We are taking about football players here, Messi is miles better at generating football..Ronaldo was scoring yes, but in terms of total football...no match
You guys are hilarious 😂😂😂
Bro said played with the ball
Love Mario's kit. All his former teams in one.
Zidane, Diego Forlan, Cristiano Ronaldo, Juan Roman Riquelme, and.. Modric also had the Champions league of his life last season playing against a 34 year old Messi with Neymar and Mbappe carrying his weight 😉
That's just what comes to mind now.
Zidane was 34
Cr7 never.
Yeah you're correct my bad I thought he was 36. Kinda explains why he was still so amazing at the World Cup. I trade my Zidane pick for Zlatan
Well....yes,he have 37 actually and plays for Real Madrid, and play like that for a couple of years now :D
Yes Luka Modric when he beat Argentina last time
He was 33 years and did not control like messi did today.
Modric 33 kiddo
Ronaldo at 35:
45 Games
44 Goals!
7 Assists!
How old was Zidane in 2006 the Only other one I can think of
34
I was going to go with him, until I'd remembered he'd retired at 34
Hahaha Zidane was nowhere near Messi's level
Guys romario score more goals than both R7 and messi in the over 35 club....And was leading goalscorer in the Brazil league at 40.....but for the last 15yrs messi and Ronaldo is in a league of their own....You can bet on them to be physically and mentally ready....Both just need more help from their teams
Zidane did it at 35
These guys get paid for this.🤣
I normally listen to espnfc via podcast. Didn't know how any of the people in this show look. But let me tell you. I have never been as shocked when I saw Mario. I had pictured a younger version of Frank in my mind :D Love it
Even Zlatan need assist you know.
Messi dribbling against 5 people at 35 years old is awesome . 👍
G.O.A.T
Mario, won't kill me with laugh🤣🤣, Mario how do u stop, Mario: I don't know,u jus have to pray b4 the game start and pray how let the match ends well for you🤣🤣🤗
Much luv from Freetown sierra Leone 💜🇸🇱🇸🇱
Luka Modric gets overlooked so much! Sigh 😥
Yea, got 2 man of the match awards in 3 games of this world cup at the age of 37, unreal
Luka without a doubt has been just a as good in his own way and instrumental to his team's success at all levels. He dominated last world cup and is the best 35 and over this world cup so far.
At 35 last worldcup ? He should be 39yrs now
Luka modric? Nah bro hes good af but not messi lvl
@@perrymansabulk572Lolol that’s not what he said… he never said “modric was 35 at the 2018 World Cup…”
C’mon guy. He said “he dominated in last World Cup AND is the best 35 yr old and over at THIS World Cup”
@@sol7410 so mean Modric have been better than Messi at this World Cup??
They forgot about Luka.
Has any one at ANY age played as well as Messi ever. The best in history and best to ever come.
