    I love how the persons who doubted Messi is seeing him now. He’s proving what he’s about and been about since he was 18.     Only comparaison which comes to mind would be Zidane’s 2006 WC performance at 34 years old.
    It was even more rare to perform at this age 15 years ago.
    Dominated the WC KO stages.
    That quarter final against a Brazil with 3 Ballon d’Or winners on their side… and it was almost like the Zidane was playing against children.
    The man bodied them.
    Still one of the greatest individual performances I’ve ever seen from a midfielder (context, age, opposition, and pressure factored in).
    The guy was a beast at the highest stage.

      @@Raao1 Maradona was incredible but did that at 26, in a less evolved era, where the game was a lot slower and in general opponents were not the athletes they are now. That was also his only standout tournament for Argentina. Meanwhile, Messi is still performing to an unreal level at 35. The fact he can also still dribble to the level he does just underlines how exceptional and unique he is.

      @@ricomajestic Today I was having a talk with my friend about Messi and CR7 and if we could recall when or if ever either of them had an injury which kept them from playing football for more than a month, and neither of us could have came up with an answer. It is so unreal to think that them both have such great luck or it could be how they treat their body. I know for a fact there's no 2 other footballers on earth who take such good care of their body and I feel this is why they arent out injured for any more than a month tops.

    I always tell people that those who really on skill and technical ability will always age like fine wine in football. A time will come when your speed, strength, jumping ability will leave you due to aging , but your technical ability will always remain with you, that's why players like, Messi, Pirlo, Zidane, Modric, Giggs, Iniesta, Figo, didn't run as much as others on the pitch, but they brought magic and joy to many through their exquisite touch on the ball.

    Let’s face it: Messi has aged like fine wine! People have been saying this about Ronaldo since he turned 30 but I’ve never really heard anyone say that about Messi. At this point he’s 35 and he’s still world class. You can’t even name me 10 other players in history who have played at this level at 35 or above. He’s by far the most talented football player of all time. Even with declining fitness his talent allows him to stay at the top at such a high age!

    Considering he’s been playing at the highest level for about 20 years, and how many people have tried to break his leg.
    How he is still maintaining this level and level of fitness baffles me.
    You can see players like Rooney, Suarez, Bale, who slowed down tremendously around this age but not Messi.

      It's true He scored goals but overall the team becomes weak as it was design to only cross the ball for him, there's no playmaking.
      Last season in Man UTd, we see it again where he scored the goals but it weaken the team chemistry, hence dragging the team structure overall.
      And if you think he scored goals he's done his job, NO, for eg. Man Utd the season before him score about 70-80 goals overall and 2nd position, then the season with him scored about 50 goals and in 6th place
