- Elden Ring. It's time to suffer. I'm going to let chat backseat me for a final day today to collect any early-game stuff I might have missed before we make this fully blind from there on. So for today at least, no rule 4 anymore. I also have a new wheel of punishments to suffer through which we created 2 weeks ago, so we're sure to suffer every 5, 10, or some amount of deaths which will hopefully be nice breaks from my terrible gameplay.
Today the plan is to get a new greatsword that should benefit my play style and then bee-line it for an area I'm way under-levelled for to get my second whip, so expect lots of deaths!

ᚩ. Fulgur Ovid is a fictional character. He is not here to become your parasocial friend or influence your worldview. Treat me as a form of entertainment and nothing more. If you can't do that, then don't bother showing up.

Ⅸ. Do not send Superchats or Donations asking for me to say a specific thing. I don't want you wasting your money and I won't do it.
Ⅹ. Superchats, Streamlabs donations and memberships will be read at the beginning and end of each stream so as to not distract from the main topic, but there are times I am unable to. Treat donations as a gift rather than a demand for attention, and don't feel obligated to send them.
Ⅺ. For donations of a personal or heavy nature I will read them silently. I am not a therapist and you shouldn't rely on me for validation or consultation. I may however read some parts aloud if I want to broach the subject. You can always ask me not to read them out loud on Streamlabs. XIV. Do not post in chat to say you are leaving or going to sleep.
Beyond that, let me and the mods deal with issues in chat. One rule break will get you a time out. We will ban if we see your name coming up multiple times. If someone has been overly rude or antagonistic in a single message, I have in the past and will in the future, skip straight to a ban at my own discretion.

Otsu!! It’s so enjoyable to explore the world and watch the lore unfold along with your playthrough. I’m even actually consider playing Elden Ring myself one day (hopefully) Also thanks for the impromptu SITA karaoke, it helped waking me up in the morning when I was watching the vod
So, Diallos is quite hard to find on your own since he is in the middle of nowhere, so I had might as well leave this here. He is standing on one of the sunken houses northwest of the Academy Gate Town site of grace in Liurnia. Either talk to him or kill him there if you're uninterested in his storyline. The other parts involve volcano manor and finding a hidden area called jarburg, but since those are optional for the whip. Volcano Manor also has another whip in a quest you can be locked out of without knowing it exists, but that involves another NPC who you have to meet and talk to there, and he might not run into him before volcano manor is completed. And since it's not a pure whip run anyway, needing another whip damage option is probably not that important.

@sinimeg I'm sure you'll be better than me in no time. The dual whips are carrying me hard through the exploration and the crazy strong Bloodhound's Fang is basically an easy mode on most bosses . I just got lucky picking a good combo and finding so many somber stones.

Ah, I see you've met my queen Moon Mommy. Isn't she so beautiful and graceful? Not to mention the Academy and her boss arena are both so gorgeous as well. Sure fighting through a bunch of mages is a pain but it's sooo aesthetically pleasing (even though it was very intense for you and dying to the fucking chandelier was hilarious lmao) :D I've seen a hardmode mod which makes her beam magic follow you so closely that it bends itself into a full circle it's crazy. It's a bit of a shame that you killed the Red Wolf so quickly, he can be a fearsome enemy with fast movement and barrages of spell if given the chance. Also you've had the pleasure of nearly getting mown down by the rolling balls, people's first reaction to them balls are always funny XD Anyway, good job on the game! Next time rule 4 is back on so I can't wait to see you run blindly into everything and we'll try to not get antsy when you miss things, haha.
(small note: Did you explore the underground area below the ruin near Iji and beat the boss there yet?)
(small note 2: YOOOOOO the new Lamb theme is so good??? I especially love seemingly pure character with a dark twist and now her theme sounds like boss music, not the intense type but the sad and tragic "whatever happened to our baby girl??" type. Your composer did a great job!)
Alrighty, since this is the final chance for me to help you out, I'll hand out whatever tips I can give that are relative to your progress.
But first, some details about mechanics that are worth remembering: every single Ash of War has their default affinity. Normally, you are forced to choose between that affinity or "Standard" so that you can retain a weapon's original scaling. "Storm Stomp" adds Quality to a weapon by default, so you'd have to choose between that and "Standard."
*Whetblades* allow you to ignore that restriction by adding whatever affinity you want based on the whetblades you've collected. You've gotten Iron Whetblade already, which means you can add *Heavy,* *Keen,* or *Quality* to a weapon, whenever you want. Remember these are tied to your "normal" stats. You JUST NOW got the Glintstone Whetblade, which lets you add *Magic* or *Cold* to a weapon, whenever you want. Note: this is the only blade you have that scales a weapon to a "special" stat (Intelligence).
Where things get complicated are with Ashes of War that have "special" stat affinities. A cold Ash will ONLY be changed to *Cold* and *Standard.* What happens, now that you have Iron and Glintstone whetblade? You can add Cold, Magic, and normal affinities! So, let's formulate it!
Cold Ash (no whetblades) = Standard, Cold
Cold Ash (Glintstone) = Standard, Magic, Cold
Cold Ash (Glintstone + Iron) = Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Magic, Cold
So, what if you wanna use a cold Ash, but also change your weapon to lightning? Uh.....no. The game will not allow you to have a configuration where two different "special" types exist. So it's *Cold* or nothing at all. Though, for some reason, even if you have the Sanctified Whetblade, Sacred Ashes only add *Scared* while Lightning Ashes only add *Lightning.*
That's the overall gist of the Ash of War and Affinities mechanic...Oh, speaking of Whetblades you DON'T have (see replies soon)!
I won't tell you where the rest of the blades are directly, but just to give you an idea:
Journey through the Caelid Wilds and win the right to an audience with the Redmane Knights, and their General Radahn. Inside their castle walls is the power of *Fire and Faith* at the palm of your hands.
Make your way to the city of gold. You think you've reached new ground, but at the same time, you don't. You're getting a weird sense of "jamai vu." You've definitely been to this place before, but it feels very new. There's nothing to be found here, just a lost relic for those with *Faith and Thunder* in their hearts.
Nokron has been buried for quite a while now...waiting for the stars to shower the night sky. Her faith in the stars grows feverish, along with her Acolytes; most of which died too soon, before they could brandish their cursed *blood, their poison, and their cultish fever* onto The Lands Between.
