Hunter x Hunter is a masterpiece in storytelling and worldbuilding and has one of the best power systems in all of anime. It’s actually a lot darker than the openings make it seem to be. And that opening song is so good that they played it for all 148 episodes!
@@leviettri3576 How is it awful? I personally think the way they introduced it was pretty good. Its like One Piece where Haki always existed but we just didn't know that, but presumably with none of the plot holes (I say this incase there are plotholes in the OP haki thing cause HXH has none of those in the nen has always existed thing)
@@anusaukko6792 Good? Really? It was introduce in a tournament with zero foreshadowing, evidence or any mentioning of it existing leading up to the arc. And then suddenly there's just people with Nen (old and new charcters) coming out left and right acting like this is a normal thing that everyone have now. You call that good introduction? The Zoldyck family alone is a major goddamn plothole.
I think maybe using the same opening for the whole series was a deliberate decision rather than simply saving money. After all, the endings are different and spectacular, while the opening lyrics always reminds us that although the world keeps turning and new things don't stop happening, in the end the series is about four rookie hunters who are in a constant learning process.
The story for hunter x hunter is very interesting, engrossing, and very different. It's awesome how unique the show is in my opinion. I think you would love it.
I'd definitely recommend you watch the anime. The relationship with the hero and who you deducted correctly was his best friend is really sweet especially when you look at it as an adult. It kinda reminds you of the way you used to process friendship as a kid. And thats kind of a common theme with the manga if youre a kid it looks like a simple fun adventure but as an adult you can see very interesting layers in every character and the way they interact with each other. The more you go the darker it gets though and around the end it gets very philosophical. This is my #1 favorite manga/anime and I don't think I'll ever read anything in any other media that I'll enjoy more than hunter x hunter.
8:16 Couldn't you say the same thing like with western cartoons and shows that use the same opening theme over and over? Departure is recognisable by Hunter X Hunter and anime fans because it uses this one song that when anyone hears it they'll instantly think of Hunter X Hunter. And like with SpongeBob; SpongeBob used the same song for 24 years with their show and it's recognisable. So it's not really disappointing. And once you watch the anime you'll start to like the openings.
Yeah, some older shows just repeated the same OP song for every opening, sometimes using a different verse. It's kind of like how American TV shows typically use the same theme song every season; you hear it, and it's just instantly recognizable where it's from.
Yeah it's always a little odd when you first find out Hunter x Hunter all have the same song for the openings, especially when tonally the show can completely flip the script from relatively light-hearted to extreme stakes arc to arc. Hope you enjoyed the visuals regardless!
Hunter x Hunter is a really amazing anime, one of the few out of 390 anime I watched where I gave it a score of actually 10/10. It's one of the battle shounens on par with One Piece, sometimes even better. As for my suggestion, I recommend checking out Madoka Magica openings and endings, especially ending 2, and maybe even some of the OST's, as I would say that OST's from this anime are better than the opening or endings.
HunterXHunter has what might be my absolute favorite power system in all of anime. Many power systems, like in DragonBall Z, invite "power creep" as the opponents need to be progressively stronger to pose a challenge, requiring the protagonist to get stronger, loop endlessly until "power" has no meaning. In this show the strongest powers have the greatest weaknesses. You can 'just get stronger', but to truly stand amongst the greats you need to be able to come up with powers that are op in just the right way, use your powers in a way that misleads people away from understanding what it really is and what weaknesses it might have, all while puzzling out your opponent's powers and the flaws in them that allow for the op effects we witness. It leads to quite the bit of creativity as no 2 people will have the exact same abilities.
The animes with kids as protagonists rarely interest me BUT HxH has Hisoka, and the interactions of the main characters with him change the whole “another dumb anime of kids with superpowers beating adults” . Hisoka, the Joker/Card Magician is my favorite anime villain, chaotic at times, follows his own code of conduct, a ruthless killer or a merciful opponent, a lone wolf but doesn’t shy away from being a team player when needed. A bit of a pervert but doesn’t carry out actual abuse. A multidimensional character that never bores me.
The openings you watched were from the 2011 remake of Hunter x Hunter which encompassed more of the story than the 1999 version did (as far as ik, i didnt watch the old version) Im pretty sure there are older anime with more than one opening if they got a second season that is. Most opening go for 1 season which means between 11-13 episodes, if the Anime's first season has 24 episodes the opening changes after 12 or 13 depending on if the arc is finished
This is definitely one of my all time favorites and the build up to the last two arcs was well worth the watch. I envy all who watch the series through for the first time.
My guess before to watch this is that he's gonna rewatch the same opening 6 times and be confused 😂 Try the 1998 anime (+the OVAs) it has better openings imo.
Just so you know, before Hunter x Hunter, the author created another extremely popular series called Yu Yu Hakusho. It only has one opening, should you decide to react to that in a very short video.^^
To answer to some of your question: - while I don't know why they didn't change song exactly, it is very good song that used for all 148 episodes and I think it for the best, it better to have consistently good song, than good and bad ones, to the point I could call it "classic" - original is manga and it started in 90s, there was anime adaptation in 1999, but in 2011 the newer one (what you watched) was recreated, and it continue story to the point when material ended. manga is still ongoing. - this anime is very good and mature. it have some brutal moments, but MC is very positive - you can still react to endings, they are different unlike openings - also about your worries: you probably should trust a bit more to anyone even if they are not official. this days there is not so many channels that upload wrong material. so usually it's all fine For an explanation about OP and EDs: Anime is produced for a 4 seasons which contains 3 months per season, this result in a season of length 12-13 episodes, when season is aired for 2-4 seasons, the total amount of episodes would be 24-25, 36, 50 Anime that aired on TV is at least 1 season, 12 episodes, most frequently it's 1 or 2 seasons, rarely for a full year (50 eps). Sometimes there could be exception when anime is shorted or longer, but that's an exception. Openings and endings produced for a season, which mean they typically shown in 12-13 episodes. But another common situation where OP could be stretched for 2 seasons (24-25 eps) and each season were new ending (12-13 eps), so there could be animes with 1 OP, 2 EDs or 2 OPs, 4 EDs. Because of the schedule it also mean that typically every 12-13 episodes there would be some arc resolution and on next episode new arc would be started. (personally I think that it cause a problem of some series being stretched, while others are condensed). When COVID was started, it create a lot of problems for animators (who draw anime), so since then they are kinda split bigger animes into cours. For example it affected Attack on Titan too. When you will see Season 4 part 1, Season 4 part 2, this mean that it was within one season, but animators take several seasons of break to be able to complete it. So now we also see a lot of animes what planned to have double seasons, but split in cours. ---- Some recommendations for AOT and for your first anime as well: - watch with subtitles (in general), while some anime have good dub, the jp was almost always the better, for a later part of AOT like S3, S4 it would make an even more difference - for AOT: in the middle of an episode there would be a info card. stop player and read it when you see it, because it contain some useful info. while not all info cards there would be very useful, some will answer your questions - AOT also have very informative OVAs with a backstory that is important, so the order of watching would be: *S1, S2 1st ep, then OVA Ilse's Notebook, then rest S2, OVA No Regrets (Levi backstory), S3, S4 part 1, S4 part 2, S4 part 3, S4 Movies* - AOT also have very good OST and insert music which is composed by *Hiroyuki Sawano* in the anime it cut for the scenes, but I strongly recommend you reacting to them later for that best course of action would be react on S1, then react on S1 OST, react on S2, then S2 OST, etc...
Why don't people ever recommend the endings? I swear they just ask people to watch the openings to troll. There are two versions of it but essentially it is the same song 6 times. Regardless, this is the best manga/anime series of all time for me. There is so much depth and richness to the story. Nothing about it is straight forward or predictable which makes it an amazing series.
Its basically the Same Song with different lyrics, i recommend you to react to HxH endings (some of them blend in to the end of the Episodes, if possible react to these)
opening 2 verison 2 is different then one. You mentioned how they repeated visuals but nome of them are the exact same. And it has nothing to do with the time period or being old or new anime.
it always arouses suspicion to me when "new" people say Hunter Hunter instead of Hunter EX Hunter. Sure, the community loves to correct but that's after a video has been published, not during "first time" video
personally, HXH tops full metal alchemist, and of course attack on titan. it was one of the best stories ever told.( I analysis it like a classic literature, it's that good)
Hunter x Hunter (2011) is a remake of the Hunter x Hunter (1999) anime. It removes all the filler from the '99 version, but it can be argued it does some parts a bit worse than the original. However, since the 2011 version better adapts the manga, it's considered the better version, which is, imo, pretty much objectively true, as much as I did like the original.
I haven't watched the 1999, but I heard there more character interactions there, which would've been nice. But if it means not having filler for a better-paced (an amazingly paced) story, then it's fine

It's always so entertaining seeing people realize that the opening song stays the same 😂

Bro it's hilarious when I see them confused at the same openings 😂😂
Just different verses... I actually love the verse that starts with... Nagaro

For an explanation about OP and EDs:
Anime is produced for a 4 seasons which contains 3 months per season, this result in a season of length 12-13 episodes, when season is aired for 2-4 seasons, the total amount of episodes would be 24-25, 36, 50

Some recommendations for AOT and for your first anime as well:
- watch with subtitles (in general), while some anime have good dub, the jp was almost always the better, for a later part of AOT like S3, S4 it would make an even more difference
- for AOT: in the middle of an episode there would be a info card. stop player and read it when you see it, because it contain some useful info. while not all info cards there would be very useful, some will answer your questions
- AOT also have very informative OVAs with a backstory that is important, so the order of watching would be: *S1, S2 1st ep, then OVA Ilse's Notebook, then rest S2, OVA No Regrets (Levi backstory), S3, S4 part 1, S4 part 2, S4 part 3, S4 Movies*
- AOT also have very good OST and insert music which is composed by *Hiroyuki Sawano*
in the anime it cut for the scenes, but I strongly recommend you reacting to them later
for that best course of action would be react on S1, then react on S1 OST, react on S2, then S2 OST, etc...
The second version of Depature means its using the second verse and not the first.
