Channel5 Gaming i have a few theories in mind: maybe a war indeed. or the train could have driven too fast and crashed. or even sabotage. it also could have been a natural disaster that destroyed the train, like a mudslide

I thought the same thing, seems un-related.
I'm thinking that the title refers to the park being the creators "Shining" achievement of creativity. :)

Because the word Shining has an actual definition outside a SK novel. Like it's shining brightly. Or the park is in a sense "Shiny".
jimthar17 but when it says “The Shining” most people will be expecting The Shining.
The park design and scenery is amazing but the coaster layouts are far from "realistic".

Slumpdog There were too many impossibly tight turns and head decapitations due to extremely low clearence scenery objects lol. Also that one ride with the inverted loop at the beginning would put you in a g-force coma haha. There's a reason inversions like that don't exist in real life. Still a great park though(:
More realistic than the usual wacky insane creations were use to seeing in this video game simulation.

Interesting park. Definitely a seriously gnarly amount of detail. But for me that’s one of the problems.
There’s just too much crap everywhere. It’s jammed absolutely packed full of everything you could ever imagine in this game. There’s no breathing room. Some of the areas are really amazing. But mostly it just seems too forced. Just too much crap. A lot of it looks tangled and like someone just dumped everything in the game onto one spot.
It’s interesting to explore for a few minutes but it just doesn’t do it for me.
I know that’s not the popular opinion! Please feel free to tell me to fuck off, but hey. This is just one stoner’s stupid opinion. Don’t take it too seriously.

Wow, amazing park, probably some of the best scenery and themeing i have ever seen, and i really like the layout of the park, looks really well planned out. A part of me wants to go back and completely redesign my own park after watching this.
Wow frickin' Wee! This is a stunning park! I'm going to subscribe and play it, even though its taken me 6 years to discover. And to think I almost missed it while going through your older videos that were created before I discovered the channel. I'm also looking forward to the episode when you realise that every 10 minutes when your computer is going to explode is because of the auto-save. Love you Jonny!

Wow, excellent park! My new favorite of the ones featured here. Such intricate detail and fun short rides that almost run without boosters. Some turns seem too rough and I don't understand the appeal of the backward section. But that's nitpicks.
Too bad I don't have the game or I would go and rate you 5 stars right away. =/

Whats the song used on the red coaster? and the log flume?
I don't know the name, but I know it's used in a whole bunch of the LA Beast's videos, as it's a freely available tune.
Log flume music makes me cry it just sounds so sad.

You are SO over-hyping this. Look at his other stuff on RUclips...he’s an architect! Of course his buildings are great as are his designs. But this is Planet Coaster...not Planet Architecture so cover his designs and buildings but don’t dwell on it for so long. And it really helps if you don’t swing the camera around so quickly.
Gotta say, people do some pretty dope stuff on this game. Wayyy beyond my limits, for sure!

The Shining is a Stephen King book that was also made in a movie. Basically about a guy's descent into madness while in this giant empty hotel that the family owns.
I think the music selection was spot on as well. It deserves a rating of 100% for sure!
i apologise if you have already mentioned but what is the specs of your pc? i really wanna play planet coaster but my pc wont be up to it

Wow, that park is a sensory overload. So much to see and explore. It must have taken rofue a long time to create it and make sure everything is just right. Can't wait to thoroughly explore and enjoy the place when I get the game. Would like to know why he/she made that whole background area in Trinity showing the unfinished buildings and such considering you do not visit that location and the assets would just be taking up more memory. Noticed a lot of z-fighting spots scattered around the park that should get some attention. Nonetheless, this is hands down my favorite park you have shown so far. Nothing against any of the others, they are all awesome as well, but this one blows them away in the detailing and time spent on it. Wish the coasters were longer though. I did notice one small construction error though. At 17:37, the cue line walk-up to the train ride has two wooden supports cutting across the path. Kind of looks like they were meant to be under it.
What are your computer specs? I'm wanting to play this game and need a new computer, but not totally sure what to buy

Very nice park, very "Disney-esque" with theming and on-site Hotel/Resort. I would like to get this game but again my computer would crash because it's modified for audio recordings only. I would make my music and sound fx for the rides, but I would need another custom computer strictly for this game.
I cant wait to try PS4 version 2020

I am over beyond impressed with this game. Just breathtaking with the amount of detail you can put into it. Totally beats Roller Coaster World out of the park with this game.
I wish planet coaster would let you walk around in the park, sorta like in sim theme park.
Adam Sandler and the Gas Chamber of Secrets they do, rename a character “tegidcam” and you can walk around as I you were a person.

My computer can run about half a park with about 3,500+ guest. After that things really start lag 😕
at 35:18 ... How do you get the wooden floor when the Exit is on the same site as the entrance?
My stations don't have it. They just have the default Planet Coaster floor...

Parks like this that make me wish there was full vr support for PC. be great to toss on the headset and get in there and really wander around.

The detailing and the scenery in general are truely breathtaking. I've rarely seen such an awesome experience. But there are two things which are a bit of a shame: The coasters are pretty far from realism and there are some edges which were like "forgotten" to theme such as the log flume-station or the surrounding of the park. Because the whole rest of the park is that good you take more attention to these things than normal. But all in all a BIG thumbs up for it!!!

Aaron Arneson its all about patience and creativity, you also need to get around with the moving axes ect... so when experienced a house could take between 20 min to 1 hour or more

I have seen The Shining, but it was based in a haunted motel where a guy goes crazy. This doesn't seem to be related at all.

Question: were those sound effects and music part of the actual game, or did you add all that in after recording the video?
I didn't add any sound effects. I do add music to coasters if the coasters don't have any music picked.
Channel5 Gaming Oh okay so there's like ride event speakers that can play sound effects and music and stuff like that? I'm asking because I don't own the game (I'm saving up money to buy a nice computer).
EmeraldBayMovies no there just sounds threw out the game that come from the shops but you can also place speakers down and add custom music
