Diy guy here. I used to own the Ryobi one but got frustrated with misfiring and jamming. Not that it was constant, but i get easily frustrated when things dont work. After six months without owning a nailer i got a second hand 18v Makita. Not a single jam or misfire yet, but i miss the Ryobi nail length.

Dear MAKITA, Can we please get 40v NAILERS in North America (Canada & USA) 🤞🏼🙏🏼
preferably NAILERS that beat out Milwaukee because right now they remain & Reign as King of the Nailers 😤👎🏼
But i still think TEAL TOOLS ARE BETTER!!!! 😀

Makita 40v is only upto 40mm which cannot even sink on hard wood. Milwaukee 2746 is up to 54mm and sinks nails on hard wood no problem. Just get the milwaukee

How much is the Makita compared to the Ryobi? I think that 40v Makita battery alone costs more than the Ryobi nailer.

I'd rather be invested into the makita line, then ryobi. That way once you have the charger and batteries you can start staking up new tools

  • @caramelypoops
    @caramelypoops 2 года назад

I think the ryobi wins because it has a wider range of nail size and settings. you say you use ply mostly . the makita would over drive into softwood

Where did you get the makita? I literally see nothing online about it and the 40v is a relatively new platform, didn't know they already started nail gun design

@@tomc3965 did some research and finally found it. It looks to be a Japan only tool and seeing as how Makita is a Japanese company that has several national branches/distributors, they are way ahead in terms of tools line up for the 40v xgt. Crossing my fingers Makita finally delivers a good brad/finish nailer that isn't straight garbage and incredibly massive.

Japan, Australia, NZ, UK and Brazil as far as I know have 40v on lineup. Some countries have the second or third wave of lauches (AU, NZ), and some like Brazil have only the first tools launched on start. The newer wave includes the big hammerdrills with 2x40v.
Makita US just announced the 40v this week, but no date for start.

The ryobi is an 18 gauge Brad nailer. The makita is a 23 gauge Pin nailer. Pin nailer is for more soft delicate moldings

Incorrect. This Makita model is also an 18gauge nailer.

@@VincheroKarpintero In the video you references says it's a pin nailer. I would to see you put the nails in the ryobi, in the makita.

    • @robertrada6040

@@YoSoyGus1 It's an 18 gauge. There is also an 18v model that is less capacity (35mm). They do use the same mechanism as the cordless 23 gauge from Makita and Hitachi. The only 18 gauge in the US is a 2"/50mm version that operates entirely differently (and not well) and looks completely different as well.

Why anyone would need a 40v nail gun makes no sense to me. As it stands right now, Ryobi has a better and more complete cordless nail lineup than Makita. Considering Ryobi is a budget brand directed at the DIY market whereas Makita is a brand directed at the commercial and pro markets...this is an unfair comparison to start but it further emphasizes how far behind Makita is in nail guns and I doubt anyone takes them seriously anymore when it comes to nailers.
A more valid comparison is between Milwaukee and/or Hitachi/Hikoki/Metabo HPT nailers, the latter because it has a 36v battery.

Man, this 40V nailer retired my compressor, it's the only tool that make me do that. Even Milwaukee ones are way to slow compared to this new Makita, it's FAST, ploc ploc ploc one after another and my 2.5A battery can shoot a whole box of 4000 40mm nails. The only problem is the battery cost but I will use it also in the 40V track saw so it's fine. Since makita is more international they don't focus too much on framing tool but this specific tool if great. In other hand Milwaukee is way ahead with all line of framing nailers, extensive line with plenty of choices but here in Brazil Milwaukee is really expensive. It's cheaper order a 40V fast makita nailer than a slow 18V Milwaukee here.
