If you go from cold fridge to hot oven it changes consistently of casserole, so when you take it out of the fridge, let it set on counter for 30 minutes before putting in oven. Makes a world of difference! Try it you’ll see & taste the difference!😍

I did this recipe when i was having friends over for dinner. I use turkey bacon as a few of them aren’t pork people. It was good but i know it would be way better with traditional bacon. I will definitely be doing it again, with the good bacon of course. Thank you.

When it gets cool enough to run the oven this is one dish I need to try! For Christmas we often make twice baked potatoes in their jackets. The casserole is a nice alternative and might be easier for making a larger batch when there is company. Do you butter/grease the baking dish before adding the potato mixture?
Hi Brant: Thank you for your message and for stopping by, I didn't grease the pan but you can if you wish. It didn't stick to the pan because of the butter, and bacon drippings. I'm sure you can bake this in the BBQ as well if had a cast iron pan or tin. Enjoy to the fullest... :) Bonita
