- Hairstylist Louis Licari and TODAY contributor Jill Martin found two women visiting the plaza and treated them to 3-hour makeovers, including new hair, makeup and wardrobe. One transformation is so dramatic that the ambushee’s best friend blurts: “Holy crap!”

I agree the makeup really aged her and the dress was bad too. That's sad for her. She came twice and was so excited only to be let down.

Always remember the person always has the last say of what goes on before it happens. It is very possible she decided to not go through with it at the last minute, despite it being free. No, I don't work for them .... people change their minds all of the time.
Usually the makeovers are good but I agree the first lady looks older with the makeup
first woman didn't need a makeover, she was naturally beautiful. those haircut and makeup made her look much older

how rude and condescending! if she WASN'T happy, isn't it way more awkward to call attention to it?
also, maybe she wasn't happy, but i think it's also a big sensory and emotional overload to process changes made to yourself, when you're used to seeing yourself look a certain way. you feel like "who am i?" and you wonder if this version of you is "better" or what...

Not sure the white stylist knows how to style black hair. That could be one reason why.
Well they did give a black woman a makeover last month matter of fact I saw it.
I also noticed no overweight women.
This EXACT thought crossed my mind a couple of seconds ago!!! And then again when one of these two were chosen and there was a black lady standing next to one of these women.............I must be honest, I think it's a lack of Ethnic hairdressing skills (as it is a COMPLETE skill of its own hey) and if you REALLY look at the show it is mainly the hairdo that changes and makes the wow difference!! They had also given a black staff member a make over that I watched!!

Good make-up shouldn't be overly noticeable. But hers was approaching clown level. At least that's an easy fix for her, just by washing her face.

the makeovers don't look that impressive in this clip because neither of these ladies was in dire need of a makeover to begin with. The effect is always more dramatic when you start with somebody who is old, gray, haggard, and poorly dressed.

The guy didn't even know who to give the rose to and half of the time they don't even stand on the right mark so the camera can see what they look like. Does nobody explain this stuff to them first? Joanne just needed a new haircut...she is a natural, Earth mother beauty and the make-up distracted from/took away from her natural looks. The makeover aged her. Haircut, no makeup = all she needed. IMHB.

Everyone said the first Lady looked better before the make over than she did afterwards. I beg to differ her blond hair was too blond for her complexion. Thirty years ago it would have been perfect 👌 ❤ but she needed it toned down with styling to give her a softer more feminine womanly appearance and they did. Yes she was pretty from the beginning but not style except for wood chopping. Peace ✌
