He was clearly aware of the threefold repetition draw rule, but he didn’t know about the 50 move draw rule. And as you can imagine, he proceeded to make 50 random moves with his king and the game ended in a draw lol
Just played my first OTB tournament this weekend and I finished 3/5, tied for first in the unrated section. Thanks so much for inspiring me to pick up the game!
There is another exemple of decent chess with six (!) queens (other examples were prearranged draws or a queen exchange comes too quickly), Szalanczy-Nguyen Budapest 2009. The six queens lasted 7 full moves and the game petered in a draw. Also Malisauskas-Vicas Liepaja 2018, where Vicas missed a mate and allowed Malisauskas to find a classic perpetual.
I was on the (almost) losing end of a four queen game. Only one of the queens was mine and I lost it by force immediately. I was down to bare king and opponent had two queens. Opponent decided to be an asshat and make a third. Unfortunately, and hilariously, for him he stalemated me by virtue of the pawn promotion. It would have been okay if he made a rook but he did not.
@@itsdifficulttocreateaperfe9850 Not these ones. For example, there's the last name Pimanov. They probably drew because of time pressure and then after they agreed to finish the game for fun and still marked their moves on the game sheet (that would explain all the mistakes that happened later, they were not really trying). Crazy game.
I don't really like watching these weird games I prefer more normal games for high level that I can learn from. None-the-less, I enjoyed the video and it was definitely worth my time watching. Thank you for continuously giving your subscribers good videos with obvious effort put into making them. Much love
I like your analogy with the nuclear bombs a lot. There is a famous problem called The Eight-Queens-Problem. The task is that all eight queens have to be placed on the board without attacking each other. This game was complete violence. It's like chess players don't notice each other until the very last pawn has been promoted. Very nice.

I was only ~300-400 at the time I blundered so hard I ended up 4 queens down for no pieces and managed to stale mate because my opponent wanted a 5th Queen
Very interesting game at GM level too, shows the value of pawns primarily I think? Treat them like royalty and they come through, how about the blockade, cut the power off on the left? That is my goal for understanding chess one day. Thanks Levy.

One more promotion by black would have resulted in six queens, which exceeds the OTB Maximum Allowable Quantum Queen Density Limit. The board would have instantly collapsed into a Black Hole, taking the players, the building, and the surrounding neighborhood with it.
The craziest part to me was that the moment that 5 queens got on the board, the engine was saying it was roughly a draw. That is INSANE to me, that a position with FIVE QUEENS (an odd number!) is a draw lol
