- Late afternoon we got a call for a broken RZR at the bottom of Hamburger Hill. So Mike and I ran in in the LJ to see if we could just pull it out before sundown. We got in there pretty quick and decided to go ahead and dead pull it out. The LJ did really well and everything went fairly smooth. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I've driven several of the trails I see on TM, and I can't for the life of me imagine doing any of them while pulling another vehicle. Rory's driving is incredible.
His memory of a line when he’s trying to place the towed vehicle (while he’s maneuvering through the next portion of the obstacle) is remarkable.
That's exactly what this fool was thinking!
The mental overload of trying to focus to run the brakes on a 10’ gap down a mountain, while having to run a new line that my brain won’t be able to process until I’m well past the obstacle. A line thats in Rory’s brain clearly, You’re trying to follow perfectly, without running into him for the world to see. And still have the sense to drive around rocks and not over them when Rory’s brain is clearly expecting you too. People would buy tickets for that thrill
Rory you are amazing! Negotiating the trail while spotting the guy you’re pulling is simply spectacular!
@russbell6418 hes spotting the guy he's towing. Amazing
Mike you are an animal walking, videoing and spotting all at the same time. Another great video from team Trail Mater and a good thing you have an arsenal of rescue rigs. Thanks again.
No matter what Rory’s driving, he makes it look easy.
Not only is Mike great with a camera, he's great with customers too
Mike is proof humans mated with mountain goats. THE BEST trail/recovery filmer EVER, no competition even comes close to him.
@@Elden_Lean I think the guys name is Trevor. He was with Matt's Off Road Recovery for a couple of years. Him and Mike are the Olympians in Off Road Video Recording.
@@bobbolieu9013 Trevor was my favorite person on MORR, always happy and like Mike did everything possible to get the shot. His new channel is hilarious and interesting.
@@jeffproctor1690 Mike does camera, does spotter, keeps the customer chill, and takes the time to point out interesting things like the slot canyon.
@hermione6830 Yes sir. He is an awesome person
This video is a prime example of how responsible wheeling is non destructive, environmentally responsible and a blast in magnificent country.
Hey Rory, I think it'd be a good idea to hang onto that Mike fella, he's worth his weight in gold.
Great stuff Team.
It's pretty cool watching the customer become a better wheeler simply because of the tow experience that he had.
The Trail Mater team showed why they are great guides. Awesome work you all.
Mike was so nice to the customer and kept building up his confidence. Good job Mike.
Both Rory & Mike have a great demeanor giving instructions to the customers. Very calm & encouraging.
Agree, Mike is a great guy.
That is absolutely essential.
When the vehicle you are driving breaks down, you are already stressed.
Thanks Mike for walking that whole trail getting us those shots. Also Rorys ability to recover vehicles is highly underrated.
Mike stays in shape with what looks to be walking most of the way out. Guess it gives him time to bird watch ( for diamond billed rock peckers) and develop stories for us 🤯
Mike should be awarded the Mountain Goat Award for the work he does while walking the trail.
Those SxS’s will soon be bigger than your recovery rigs 🤯
Seriously... It's getting so ridiculous...
I understand why Rory has so many tow rigs, each one seems to have a trail they fit on and navigate better than the others.
Rory's nickname should be the trail whisperer he can just look at a trail and instinctively know what to do. 👍👍
I'm quite impressed with the RZR driver. He followed instructions pretty well, and probably learned a lot about what line to take. I'm also impressed at how Rory can give line instructions simply by looking in his outside mirror! And the Jeep did really well over the rock slide- that terrain looked extremely rugged! One of the better videos!
Very impressive! I know that RZR isn't the heaviest vehicle on the trail, the LJ handled it very well. In fact--impressively! The traction your vehicles get is incredible!! Thanks for taking us along!
Rory and Mike doing great things! Way to go guys! Thank you for taking us along.❤
That was a crazy tow job. Good work on Mikes part helping the driver navigate the trail while being towed. Good job Rory and Mike!
Outstanding job Rory and crew
I cannot believe the recovery in that rough terrain. That Jeep is an animal. Well done. Rory, again, thanks for not putting obnoxious music in your videos.
Mike and Rory I found myself trying to push the side by side when you started to have problems, Your show is getting to me,
😂 so did I
No worries guys , i was already pushing.
Driving next to a cliff is nerve racking, but doing it without controlling when you go and how fast must be crazy, but having Rory driving and Mike directing, you'll be safe.
I sure love seeing a Jeep Doing the recovery, instead of Being the recovery!
The sunscreen bikini top on your yellow Jeep, lets the perfect amount of sun in for in vehicle filming!
And nice "walking on the edge" filming by Mike! As a photographer I really appreciate all of this. Thanks for bringing us this amazing scenery in 4K!!
Over and over again I’m blown away by the skill of the team and a special hats off to Mike with the camera shots,I know that I would have dropped dead in a heartbeat running up and down through the rocks and trails to film all of this.Once again one hell of a team.🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
You have convinced me that I'm not buying a side by side, break too easy
Yup, for what they cost, they are junk. Right down to the snowmobile clutch.
Thinking the same thing.
They do seem to break quite easily and cost way more than they are worth. I will say this, I really don’t think they are built for this terrain…
Use the money to build a rig and save money at the same time
Darn it Mike I'm tired after watching you bounce around the trail filming. Great job on the recovery and wow the free training the customer received!
Not only did you get them out you gave a free wheeling lesson as well, thanks for sharing. :)
Rory is The Line Guru. He has The Vision.
mike got some exercise this recovery. the team work and skill level of Rory is always amazing
If this video was produced after Mike's Appendix surgery, I would gladly walk the trail with a camera than to bounce around in the jeep. The seatbelt alone would be too painful for me. Plus, walking is great therapy for any abdominal surgery.
Let's help the algorithm by commenting 🎉. Excellent job yet again.
It takes me an hour to read through other peoples' comments. Someone might have the same thing I was going to say, so just click the thumbs up on that comment, this too helps the algorithm.
I love the great spotting from both Mike and Rory, however Rory while on the tow spotting the side by side is next level. Great job.
GREAT WORK and Mike your a stud filming and running spotting
I have watched allot of trailmater and other tubers do this kind of thing but I have never watch some one pick the flawless lines from the driver seat the way Rory just did. Nice job guys
Rory and crew make these extractions look so easy and I know they aren't. Keep up the great work guys.
Dude looked like he was having a blast! I know I would.
The technical in this was insane and very educational
A fine recovery in a beutiful setting.
This is not Razor Country !
Mike did great handling the video and spotting the customer.
Rory the expert recovery man with a very capable yeam.
Im kinda starting to NOT be surprised anymore 😅😅 Great job trailmater..
Great work trailmater. That new jeep is working out great 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Mike. Stay awesome.
Thank you for the entertainment! Great Thursday evening video...
I'm 30 minutes into Friday morning watching this.
New shop project: build a HEAVY DUTY articulated rock pusher for Trailmater. No need to be higher than a 10" C-channel, maybe 1/2" thick. As wide as the dualies--- clean up those rock slides😂.
Rock crawlin recovery Guru's to the rescue once again, well done!
Nice driving Rory, that was a technically difficult pull out but you guy's were able to coach him through every obstacle and Mike captured it gracefully. Nice job 👏
Rory, the first one of your videos that I watched you were in Trail Mater rescuing someone and I was totally amazed and hooked on your channel. Skip forward a few years and many videos later and I never cease to be amazed. I never miss a video and just want to thank you, Shawn, and Mike for entertaining and educating me.
AMAZING!! (Something many of us have come to expect from your videos)
WOW, What a on the site sales pitch for buying a Trailmater 10foot sling! Great job Coach Mike, Good Job/
6:38 a 10 and 20 foot. Those straps are sketchy
Easy peasy, and fun to boot! Great vid and thank YOU, Rory for letting us tag along!
Love the title.
One of the biggest things I like about your channel, keep it real.
If you do cool shit, there's no need for extra flash and hook line titles.
Be well all.
😂trail mater rope is the perfect length and distance, that you navigated both vehicles. You're amazing Rory, that was one exciting recovery!
Wow, another exhilarating adventure. Please keep them coming.
I really like seeing the trails and beautiful views.
Mike has the agility of a mountain goat, and it benefits us, so many great camera angles.... And you've got to love Rory spotting while driving 30 feet ahead of the towed vehicle, insane!
i love the landscape/terrain in your videos. great camera & editing work
This is when we need to also recognize the editor. Justin has learned a lot since he started working with Rory, Shawn and Mike. I'm sure he at some point in time depending on the editing software will show some editing tricks in the future.
A recovery and a car wash, all in one!
Thanks for taking me along with you very nice company on a stormy day 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼🤟🏼🖖🏼🇳🇿
I am always amazed at Rory’s ability to read the trail and tell the driver of the towed vehicle which way to turn the wheels and follow his lead. Good job Mike and Rory.
Jeep for the win! And, of course, you Rory and Mike! ⭐
AND Justin the editor for keeping more of the interesting things we like to see.
As long as they keep driving their golf karts out on the trails, you guys will always have work and play.
Exactly the same drive system of clutch and belt as my golf cart.😮
its amazing how you spot a vehicle your towing Rory😊
Keep up with the good work love watching you on RUclips God bless
That yellow Jeep was just perfect for this job had lots of flex and wheeled great. Those rock monsters look good on it . Great driving skills .
That guy did fantastic following instructions and even little rocking his body to rock the rig so he could turn the wheel. Cool to watch.
Definitely a lot of work here getting these things out.
I bet the customers forearms were just burning halfway through the tow
great job Mike, you walked all the way back to Moab!
Thumbs up, another great adventure, and using the short green recovery strap, works perfect, no one hurt in the trip
There is nothing to say about this video that hasn't been said already. I am in Canada where we are about 750 ft above sea level. We have "hills" but nothing like you have. I learn something new almost every video. Sometimes I just pause the video to look around, I especially enjoy when Shawn and Mike stop to point out the different sites and mountains. I have yet to travel your part of the US and look forward to when I will have time to do so.
Great video and recovery again guys. I'm so impressed with the way you handle each recovery. Catch you on your next video . Take care guys.
Way to go kids, great lesson in driving/spotting.
Truly amazing recovery / rescue ... I have never seen country so rugged and difficult to access ... This is only a testament of how good Rory/Crew and Machinery really are.... Thank You RORY and THE GANG for such an amazing recovery.....
A work of ART to see your driving skills.
Nice recovery!! That new rockslide was a bit gnarly!!! You did a fantastic job!! You guys are the best!!! Love watching you guys work. No matter what the circumstances you always get them out safely and with a good attitude! Great cam work too!!!
Wow you guys make it look so easy, but man you are on the edge of a mountain sometimes lol
Great show that dude had the trip of his life.
Keep up
The great videos, I so enjoy the work and the landscape and no bs
That was a hard recovery. Great job men
Just saw Rory and Sean at Walmart in n Cortez have fun at we rock great video again.
Nice recovery. Some new challenges to deal with on recoveries. You gotta like when you pick the right vehicle first time. Thanks for sharing.
Hopefully Rory got a tip that there was a rock slide on that trail and Rory new what vehicle would work the best. That rock slide will not look the same 12 months from now.
Your scenery shots are beautiful.
Nicely done 👍
Pretty cool for a hot summer day. Thanks.
Amazing rescue. This jeep is becoming a great part of the fleet. 😊
Exciting to watch, great video. Rory, great driving, Mike, excellent spotting and courteous to customer. Jeep did awesome job doing its thing. Customer was lucky to have you guys get him out.
That dude was calling you...even if he didn't break down, he was not going to successfully complete the trai on his own. Rory is a master at trail reading. 💪👍
imagine being able to drive one vehicle over obstacles while telling someone else 10 feet behind how to steer on the one you are pulling them over
Well done! So much skill on display.
Thank you Rory and Mike for the adventure , seeing some beautiful scenery and great recovery ! I'm glad to enjoy it from my safe home because there was some spots that I would've wanted to see in person ! Narrow roads or trails especially with a drop-off on one side ! I had an experience or two as a child in Colorado that to this day I say nope to doing stuff like that !
Awesome recovery Rory and Mike nice job as always
One of the BEST recoveries I've seen in awhile. Hats off to everyone. Customer did a fantastic job. Mike providing good sound advice and awesome camera skills (I found myself ducking when going under the rock ledge, lol). Rory with his ability to spot himself and at the same time spot the customer through those rough obsticles and everyone getting out safe! Top knotch!! Thank you for sharing
Incredibly technical recovery, great job guys!
Damn that jeep is strong.
💪
Great job everyone, the guy you rescue had a adventure with Rory and Mike getting him and his toy out of there...
bet you like that short rope even better with shawn in the tow vehicle, he is amazing at keeping tension on the rope.
I love the short green rope being used, it really justifies you and your knowledge of what is needed out in the shat.
You would think MATTMAN would have 2 in every vehicle he runs for off Rd. And Rudy, mischief lovely, BSF, should all have at least 2 in every vehicle that off rds, state law. ❤
Dammit man. Rory ( and Mike ) see things about how the vehicles are going to react when everyone else is just like "Make it go straight!!". This is highly technical stuff here. Well done gentlemen.
Impressive and a pleasure to watch. Rory is a war machine.
Awesome video as always. Kudos to the customer too, did a great job especially with no boost for steering or brakes.
Wear out his arms...😅
The main thing I've learned about watching Rory is to stay patient. I've realized how 'not patient I've been in the past. lol
Dang guys, that was a workout. I'm a bit tuckered on that one myself. I think I'll need the rest of the day to rest up a mite. PS That little jeep did really well. We'll have to see if it holds up. I missed the clanking of the Mater. Trail Mater or Sir Clanks Alot. Be well.
I have been watching your channel for a while now, both you guys and the MORR team "showcase" the rescues of side by sides. I'm noticing that most larger UTVs are capable but not really durable for your environment. I am leaning toward renting a Jeep to tour that area versus a side by side. Holy Moly beautiful area! Thank you all.
Great job again.
I swear, you guys have got to have some mountain goat in your DNA. Great job guys.
Mike & Rory that was an epic recovery. As folks her pointed out, that trail was challenging to drive but towing a dead vehicle out... Great driving, great camera work and great commentary/conversation! I'm so glad Matt suggested to not just clip a GoPro to the fender. ;) Excellent video guys.
I love seeing the desert with clear skies and sharp shadows, this time of year. The sculpted bedrock is like a playground, regardless of your mode of travel.
