My wife's name was Angela, I use to play this all the time. Sadly she passed away at 41 years old on October 9th this year due to heart disease. I loved her more than life. Even though she hated being called Angie lol. RIP Angela I love you.
Remember when this song came on the AM radio back in the summer of 73. Was 14, she was 17! Sadly she died in a car accident, after dropping me off at home. To this day, still haven't been able to say goodbye. Her laughter still fills my ears. She was a remarkable young woman, full of life, an infectious smile, and always accepted life on life's terms. Goodnight Angie
I grew up listening to the stones with my Father. Just lost him to cancer three months ago. Any track from the stones brings me closer to him and all our memories that we shared!!!
I was born in 1958, so I was lucky to be exactly 15 years old when that song came out in the fall of 1973. I was terribly in love with a wonderful girl since the beginning of that year, as you can imagine a 15 years old boy can be, and suffering from that love because being too shy to tell her. So when that song came to my ears the first time on radio, I immediately started my cassette recorder to catch it, because I found it so awfully beautiful and romantic, as if it was crying my own poor love. In the end, the radio speaker didn't tell who made this song. Really fascinated by that song, I played my cassette again and again, and it's only a few days later that I discovered it was from the Rolling Stones. I was astounded! Though I enjoyed some songs of the Stones - Honky Tonk Women, Brown Sugar, Love in vain, Jumpin' Jack Flash and that was all - I didn't like them so much, and I couldn't believe this yelling rock band could ever produce such a beautiful song. So beautiful indeed that 25 years later, thanks to Internet that had just started in the large public (we were then in 1999) , I met that girl again: The first present I made to her was "Goat's Head Soup"... Today, in 2022, almost 50 years later, I'm still in love with that girl... and with that song that made me think of her so much. That's why I must confess: "Angie, I still love you"...
It was 1973. I was 19 and a busboy in Newport Beach at a restaurant and one of the waitresses I had a huge crush on told me this was her favorite song. I had never heard it, but after hearing it on the radio for the first time I understood. Every time I heard it since then I have a fond memory of her. Her name was Sandy. I never told her how I felt. She was a few years older, and I was young and shy. My advice to people of all ages. Always tell her how you feel and just deal with what happens. You owe that to her. Besides, that is what life is about.
Oh man, that was the song when we first heard it. I recall we were about 16 or 17 at my friend's house, having a party, parents were away and we played this beautiful slow song about 25 or so times, because we wanted to slow dance with some of the young ladies at the party. That was amazing and still love this song so much. That was in the 80s, beautiful times, beautiful music and just having great time and enjoying life. I just turned 57 years young and still have those incredible memories of that song and that time we had.
Indeed, I'm well acquainted with that conversation you have with someone you love and don't want to break up with, but you know you have to because you've tried everything and it just won't work anymore. 👍
This song was in my head when my grandmother's coffin was closing. Dad and the funeral guys had to catch Grandpa, as his knees buckled, it was then I knew true and unconditional love. He served in WW1, attacked with nerve gas and was one of the strong ones that survived. So strong, even to his 70's. He soon followed his Love. I love you all.

I was born in 2000 and think this song is great, as well as every Rolling Stone song. Monkey Man has one of the best guitar riffs in history in my opinion
Born in 55, went to boot camp at 17. While there this song came out and none of us heard it until we graduated. Everyone loved it. Will be 70 soon and it still on my favorites list.
I heard one musicsl Melody in ending credits on a movie, and in four notes my brain conjoured up the memory to this song. Had to hear it again. 2019 April. Too many of my relationships ended like this...
Sherry All the time you think of him talk about him he is still alive , I never meet him but one thing I know. He's taste in music tells me what sort of guy he was....Buddha bless you
I know this isn’t the same but my best mate,my brother from another mother,od and died from heroin February last year not long before his 40th birthday
At a mere 52, I can't compete with some of the earlier, more endearing comments, but as a late comer to the party, Angie is undoutably one of the greatest ever written. Also, as a beginner guitarist, it is also one of the most beautiful guitar tracks. Not the most technical, but that is what makes it so beautiful. There will never be another Angie . 😘
helo Sir this is Faisal in need of help, as i am new here in Social network, want to be fluent in english speaking. Sir can you help me? will wait for you SIR
My mother's name is Angela and my father used to play this song for her. None of them speak English, but he can sing a lot of rock ballads. They still love each other after 27 years together.
The Rolling Stones - Capable of combining the right sounds, vocals, lyrics, and instrumentals, to create a formula that makes you want to sob even after an album full of upbeat songs.
The year was 1973 graduated from high school would hear this on the radio going home after work. How blessed and how naive that I WAS so blessed The violins just so awesome in this song…nostalgic
My great grandma was named Angelina but everybody called her Angie. She died and one of my uncles got his guitar and played and sang this song at her funeral service. He started crying and I started crying. I've never cried so much to a song, R.I.P grandma 💔😭😞
Memories are sometimes all we have left. 55 years ago I was stationed in Berlin missing my dear wife and daughter. I have some earlier bittersweet memories like from 1959 in Japan. I will never forget her.
It's not sappy story I still miss my ex girlfriend it's been a year now I always thought we would be together forever miss her everyday this woman is this video has my ex girlfriends eyes 😢😟😭
My ex husband and me went to elementary, middle school, high school and college together, homecoming, both proms, genuinely high school sweethearts, have photos of us in our graduation gowns. We got pregnant while in college, we were still teenagers but we made it work, we got married , had two more children, we ended up being together for 15 years (15-30) … I always resonated with this song because we were poor but we made it work and we worked hard but it just got “too hard” and decided splitting up was the best thing to do…in hindsight, it was/is just a really sad love story about two kids who had their whole lives ahead of them but with the heaviness of the world and with three kids at 28, we were overwhelmed and thought the grass would be greener, now that I’m older , I now know that that the grass is always greener where you water it.
Thank you for your beautiful story. After I read it, my eyes were wet. My life is close to the events you lived. Thank you, because you have the courage to tell many life lessons in one time. God bless you. God bless both of you. Love 🙏🏻❤️
Angie, Angie When will those dark clouds all disappear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, Angie You can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful But ain't it time we say goodbye Angie, I still love you Remember all those nights we cried All the dreams were held so close Seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here Oh, Angie, don't you wish Oh your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie Angie Ain't it time we said goodbye With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, I still love you baby Everywhere I look I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on baby dry your eyes Angie, Angie ain't good to be alive Angie, Angie, we can't say we never tried
My mother and father loved this song. My mom Angie just recently passed away and i come back to this song when i miss her. Angie Wyatt RIP💟💟💟💟💟we love you mom
Where do people go?..i used to listen to this over and over with my high school girlfriend and also my friends and they all disappeared off the face of the earth..i'm like the Gunslinger finally realizing the world has moved on
I feel like that too. Mine were college friends. I tried. 55 of the 60 girls on my course disappeared into marriage the summer of our graduation year. My old maid sisters and I tried for a few years. I tried pathetically longer. I even recently tracked down my best friend at college. I was in her home town on holiday and looked up the phone books. I rang her brother who gave me a number but she was not really interested. She had married late in life and had a rural existence far removed from my town one and our old memories had no traction..Time and life and people move on.
We all go in different directions Trev, that's life mate. But when you catch up with them it see s like it was just yesterday. If it's possible, hunt them down .
Being only 16 I don't believe I have much experience in the matter, though having a close friend commit suicide earlier in the year, I'd like to think I know how you feel. It doesn't seem like there's anything anyone can do though. Other than reassure each other that we're going through the same stuff. Is it only a dream that there'll be no more turning away?
Heard this song in 1971 when I was 10 - fell in love with it then and still love it. Makes me feel like I’m 10 again for a minute. Such a sad song but a beautiful goodbye to a lover.
There's a woman named Angie that I fell in love with, her eyes haunt me still. I think of her often and hope she finds peace and happiness in her life. I know her spirit will give her nothing but that.
Jennifer, I miss you so much. I know that you will never see this but please know that I will never stop loving you. You know how much I love the Stones and I can't think of a better song than this to express my love for you. So baby congratulations on everything, you know what I mean and never forget that I will always love you. We were something there for awhile, weren't we. Goodbye Jennifer Jean Crawford Duncan. (Joking to the end, right baby?) Love always and eternally, Mark
there's never a good enough way to say good bye. the pain gets worse before it will get better. but you have to ask you self and do one last favor for your mom. live as she would want you to. and she would tell you no crying if she was there. she will always love and visit you. you'll catch a scent of her.no she is there then. keep your head up as hard as it may be and all the I wish and what ifs wouldn't have changed anything.she no's everything you wanted to tell her. live a good life. and find some rest and happiness.
I'm noticing a lot of youngsters are just now discovering the GREATEST ERA IN MUSICAL HISTORY...none before or after can stand next to the 60's, 70's, 80's an some 90's...this is the era with true vocals, instruments, pure talent!! Not to take away from individual artist, famous or not, I've been on many a outing where ppl play for the joy of it, I'm just sayin its exciting to know these beautiful songs an artist still touch ppl today...as they were intended to do!!Rock on everyone!!!😎😍🎼🎶🥁🎻🎺🎸🎷🎹📯📰💿♥️
Yes so true, all the songs from 50s 60s 70s 80s & 90s are all written straight from the heart and all those singers from classical, to love song to folk song , hard & soft rock, country song, etc was outlive by their songs, one by one some singers just fade away , other still rocking and others departed the earth one by one also..but their songs remain the same keep on living and being played and played until now...
Actual lyrics to the video: Angie, Angie When will those dark clouds all disappear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, Angie You can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful But ain't it time we said goodbye Angie, I still love you Remember all those nights we cried All the dreams were held so close Seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here Oh, Angie, don't you weep Oh your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie Angie Ain't it time we said goodbye With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, I still love you baby Everywhere I look I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on baby dry your eyes Angie, Angie ain't it good to be alive Angie, Angie, we can't say we never tried
+TheMan FromAspen I know!, I think they hold the # of concerts record, and touring in general, all bands know, the stones are the toughest .... times about up, but man, from when i was 8 and now I'm 55 they've been there same 4 guys the whole damn time, U2 is another survivor, eagles, over but close, it's closing time for the origins of all good things, the seventies, but that's ok, we always knew things like "Dont fear the reaper" "We are stardust" "Jesus is just alright with me" "Going up to the Spirit in the Sky", were all normal thoughts and sayings and songs
Another beautiful song from the 70s. Was some of the best times of my life. We rocked in the 70s and 80s. People today don't have a clue what great music is.
Though each generation has something to offer, Rob, I think most agree that the baby boomers were the most blessed of people. Hard to believe what my parents went through during the war, and the depression etc, but for all the technology today, we were the ones who witnessed the greatest of booms and steps forward of any time in history.
so sorry for your loss i had a angie i should have stuck with 40 years ago the older i get seems harder to deal with i am impressed how you all kept it happening some thing the world is lacking these days may your days have a smile for your dear beloved angie the world needs people like you all
Listening to this in honor of one of my best friends, Angie who died of ovarian cancer. I miss her laugh and her gorgeous singing voice. Miss you, friend!
Takes me back to a time that brings me deep sadness in the reality that I can never go back there, can't right the wrongs and follow the dreams that burned in me, the ones that burn me now.
J, are you fucking breathing, go do what you always wanted play the music, your just a old fuck like me I'm 45, start a new path, plant a fucking tree. Get out there brother talk to the women, that's all it takes. Practice on the fat and ugly ones. Lolhahhahaah I'm going to hell for that... Good luck
Rolling stones is a legendary rock n roll band.. That never stop, never dies.... It has been alive for years up till now..it's really an amazing rock band...
They must have drank better whiskey and breathed some better air; but I think they had a little help from Jesus Christ, actually. They surely had guardian angels to survive this long.
wow!!! the man that loved me like that died 2 months ago. it felt like reading his words you typed there! i should'da loved him better back. i'm really gonna miss him! right you are though...love like that is worth the hassle, the search, the craziness & the pain too. Love hurts!!!

I was born in 2000 and think this song is great, as well as every Rolling Stone song. Monkey Man has one of the best guitar riffs in history in my opinion
My sister actually thought Mick was singing, "I ain't Jeff" when this song first came out. Decades later, I still tease her about it.
holy crap reading what u wrote, i was like huh. but listen after realize haha it fits. Too Good brotha
Lol
Omg lol

To me it sounds like he's singing Angel during the first couple of bars.

My name is Angie, and this song makes me cry. 😭
Same. Kinda makes me sad.
This was my mom’s favorite song in 1976 when I was born so she named me Angie
That's the power of a great song. It hits you in the heart. Couchgrouch

Don't cry. I found a kitten. Angie was playing. She was 4 weeks old. We all took turns feeding her. It was Beautiful.
Im 35 and ive loved this band for as far back as my earliest memories. Thanks Mom and Dad. Especially glimmer twins.
I am 60 years old....remembering my first boyfriend who died in 1984..... I still miss him.

How could one forget this TIMELESS tune? Definitely one of the most memorable releases in Rock history.
I heard one musicsl Melody in ending credits on a movie, and in four notes my brain conjoured up the memory to this song. Had to hear it again. 2019 April. Too many of my relationships ended like this...
This song is in memory of my Eddie my love. My kid's father who passed away on July 31, 2019 . Be was 46 years old. He loved the Rolling Stones

Released in '73 on The Rolling Stones' album, Goat's Head Soup. It was also released as a single that same year.
One of the Stones Best Songs 👍🏽
I think its THE best. I love their rocking ones to dance to but this conjures up stuff and I can listen to it quietly.

The Rolling Stones - Capable of combining the right sounds, vocals, lyrics, and instrumentals, to create a formula that makes you want to sob even after an album full of upbeat songs.
Wow dude you encapsulated that awesomely
Hannible100 Very true.

My Mother passed in "77 ! I was 11 yrs old!RIP. To our 💔💙❤️🩹❣️
My ex husband and me went to elementary, middle school, high school and college together, homecoming, both proms, genuinely high school sweethearts, have photos of us in our graduation gowns. We got pregnant while in college, we were still teenagers but we made it work, we got married , had two more children, we ended up being together for 15 years (15-30) … I always resonated with this song because we were poor but we made it work and we worked hard but it just got “too hard” and decided splitting up was the best thing to do…in hindsight, it was/is just a really sad love story about two kids who had their whole lives ahead of them but with the heaviness of the world and with three kids at 28, we were overwhelmed and thought the grass would be greener, now that I’m older , I now know that that the grass is always greener where you water it.
life is a learning process for sure , had my own Angie many many years ago
Thank you for your beautiful story. After I read it, my eyes were wet. My life is close to the events you lived. Thank you, because you have the courage to tell many life lessons in one time. God bless you. God bless both of you. Love 🙏🏻❤️

Where will it lead us from here
With no lovin' in our souls
And no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied

Angie, you're beautiful

Angie, I still love you
Remember all those nights we cried
All the dreams were held so close
Seemed to all go up in smoke
Let me whisper in your ear

Oh, Angie, don't you wish
Oh your kisses still taste sweet
I hate that sadness in your eyes

She had married late in life and had a rural existence far removed from my town one and our old memories had no traction..Time and life and people move on.
we are still here
We all go in different directions Trev, that's life mate. But when you catch up with them it see s like it was just yesterday. If it's possible, hunt them down .
sad aint it.....its like you die over and over... never realising the good times till they r gone
I got 2 years on you and I remember it well to, hope all's well with you and your's
😢Thise will be my song when I passed away leave thise place called earth!
There's a woman named Angie that I fell in love with, her eyes haunt me still. I think of her often and hope she finds peace and happiness in her life. I know her spirit will give her nothing but that.
When did you meet her and why can you not see her anymore?
Jennifer, I miss you so much. I know that you will never see this but please know that I will never stop loving you. You know how much I love the Stones and I can't think of a better song than this to express my love for you. So baby congratulations on everything, you know what I mean and never forget that I will always love you. We were something there for awhile, weren't we. Goodbye Jennifer Jean Crawford Duncan. (Joking to the end, right baby?) Love always and eternally,
Mark
So many of the Stones' songs remind me of my Mom; she loved them so much. It's been 7 months already and I'm still learning how to live without you.
Mike Rudell sorry for your loss brother...peace
Sorry for your loss
there's never a good enough way to say good bye. the pain gets worse before it will get better. but you have to ask you self and do one last favor for your mom. live as she would want you to. and she would tell you no crying if she was there. she will always love and visit you. you'll catch a scent of her.no she is there then. keep your head up as hard as it may be and all the I wish and what ifs wouldn't have changed anything.she no's everything you wanted to tell her. live a good life. and find some rest and happiness.
Thank you Sherry for your kind words! I'm trying hard to live the life she would want me to and to make her proud.
So sad to hear of your loss, and yes this song and many other Stones recordings do help the pain of such a loss
This song reminds me of a girl I once loved. Rest in peace Angie.

Greatest Band of All Time! Withstood the Test of Time! 6 Decades! Angie has a Special Meaning for me also!❤
so beautiful, and yet so bittersweet, just like life
I'm noticing a lot of youngsters are just now discovering the GREATEST ERA IN MUSICAL HISTORY...none before or after can stand next to the 60's, 70's, 80's an some 90's...this is the era with true vocals, instruments, pure talent!!
Sublime
80's?
İt was like a dream tunnel which never comes back again.
That's A DAMN fact!!!!!

Though each generation has something to offer, Rob, I think most agree that the baby boomers were the most blessed of people. Angie Hurley, I believe it was ninth grade, 1974, whatever class I had with her, maybe English class since I believe we played Scrabble. My memory may be sketchy as to the class but I can still see her face, brown, wavy long hair, pretty eyes. I was shy so I had a secret crush on her. The song was out at the time and I listened to it quite a bit, believe me!! Was glad to bump into it today for a trip back to my youth and my desk beside Angie!
