Just to clarify, Dabura and Piccolo's titles of "Demon King" are only the same in localisation because Funimation called Dabura the Demon King before Piccolo was introduced since they dubbed Z first, and that stuck with most English versions. In the original Japanese, they are entirely different titles. Dabura's title is "makai no ō" which means "King of the Demon Realm". Piccolo's title is "Daimaō" which means "Great Demon King". King Piccolo was not an alien who thought he was a Demon like most western fans think, he WAS a Demon. There are actually two different types of demons in the Dragon World (something which is also lost in translation since most English versions just called them all "demons"). There's the "Makai no shuzoku" which are the magical race that are born as demons and hail from the Demon Realm, this is what Dabura is. Then there are the "Mazoku" which are mortals that are so evil that they have become Demons despite not being born as one. The Mazoku operate like tribes and have designated leaders; King Piccolo, Lord Slug and Lucifer are examples of these. Also removing King Piccolo's unique abilities to make him "not fully evil" isn't necessary, as Kami remarked that Piccolo Junior lost his status as a Mazoku since after killing Raditz, he went to Otherworld. This implies that Piccolo Junior had the status of Mazoku and lost it, which means being a Demon does not make you beyond redemption. King Piccolo isn't pure evil, he's just the evil that was in Kami and he is not beyond redemption if the circumstances are right.
Training at the Lookout will certainly give Tien and Goku better gains than in canon, since Goku has a sparring partner that is absolutely serious and focused. With that fore warning, Krillin, Yamcha, and Roshi should get a bit stronger than usual. Maybe Korin's place? With Piccolo not alone and with his brothers, I could imagine that he isn't as heartless as he was in canon. The brotherly bond between them is gonna play a part in this redemption, perhaps?
If Goku in this what if changes the minds of King Piccolo's children, that'll give him more sparring partners. Not to mention that Namekians are basically warriors and farmers when they are in peace. So I'm sure with their help and alongside the potential and power they possess, Goku would be at least 5 to 10 times stronger than his canon counterpart at the beginning of the Saiyan Saga.
Imagine if Drum fuses with piccolo in the android saga instead of kami ( drum would be absolutely massively stronger than kami so the boost would be out of this world )

I liked it, only thing I would have done is not kill off king piccolo. I'd have him get the 4 star ball but survive just barely, the fight left him greatly injured but also having such a close fight put some humbled in him, just a pinch. Eventually completes a wish for youth and slowly over multiple episodes with his clan becoming a family turns anti hero.. Never good but ceases to be a threat to the people of earth. Maybe even kind of having his own community or town if you will, later Earthlings could join his community, might even see him as a mayor of said community which fulfills some of his ruling urges but I don't know about that last part.. bit much maybe. Regardless, I liked the episode as always and am interested to see where it goes as always.
Hmmm this is a rather interesting idea. I wonder what personalities and ablities the demon crew would have. Here's just my guess Drum would probably/eventually become cocky but dim with a focus on heavy attacks. He'd probably be the type to sacrifice himself for the greater good, like when he shielded king piccolo in the original time-line Tanbarin probably would be an anti hero type (kinda taking the Giran fight out of context but meh) willing to kill for the greater good but still overall would be good. He'd probably really rely on height advantage and flying in a fight Cymbal would definitely have a mouth on him. Probably would be the type to tease and mock (probably Drum) but wouldn't be to malicious about it. Seems to have a fighting style of a mix of ranged attacks and good melee Piano looks to be the sassy type if he comes into his own. Probably would but heads with Cymbal Ukelele (only discovered because of the wiki lol) can probably be anything. Seems pterodactyl like, maybe for diversity sake he could be cowardly and never seen. (Would be a funny little retcon if he's added. Just saying he was hidden. But these are just random thoughts from like 10 minutes of wiki searching lol
this is a pretty cool what if but King Piccolo is also part of the demon Clan so you should bring him back to life and when you do have him and kami both get their youth back just imagine King Piccolo and Kami fusion and having kami be the main body and then taking on Vegeta but there is some good within him so he would let him live and maybe Raditz and Nappa get to survive or at least get revived because their fusion forms are kind of cool and the same thing for future 17 and 18 and their present counterparts but there is some good within their but 13 14 and 15 in and 19 and 20 are different in both the future and present timelines and technically 19 and 20 was originally supposed to be the villains in Future Trunks timeline so that be cool if you actually had them in that timeline
If Piccolo Jr assimilates with both King Piccolo and Kami, would he be double complete lol? I imagine that even if it were the 260 PL King Piccolo fusing with Piccolo JR the boost would be massive. I just like the potential of this fic of making the Namekian possibly even stronger than the Saiyans lol

After seeing that piccolo jr is training so hard to beat Goku(before their first fight in the tournament), Kami requests him to train with king kai to ensure Earth's safety. He signs the paperwork, and sends Goku off to train with king kai in the intervening years/months before the tournament
