You would remove the slats. The slats are there so you can put a box spring on it (never put a mattress straight onto slats, it'll ruin your mattress over time). With an adjustable base like these in the video you would actually take all the slats out and put the base in the middle of your frame. Your mattress would be sitting directly on the base which would be centered in your bed frame once the slats a removed - so no weight is put on your frame, further extending the life of your furniture due to the lack of weight baring pressure you would be eliminating. It's also great if you're plus sized so you can have total peace of mind sleeping on the base vs wooden slats. Hope this helps, I work in sales in the furniture industry.

I saw this "feature" description on a few other platform bed frames (other vendors) and could not find any documentation on the Tempurpedic site about their frames.
My pleasure Claire! Unfortunately, Tempur doesn't offer a wall-hugger option in their line-up right now. What matters most for those of us who use vibration for pain relief is the length of time the vibration lasts? 🤔 After turning the vibration on, what is the time frame the vibration fully functions? 🤨 How many repeated and consecutive vibration sessions are subscribed as maximum time for vibration? 🤔 This is the information I most need on the top two Bases. Being able to use the vibration for 8-11 hours is my preference. As a Post Polio old woman, vibration is my chosen pain relief. However, it is needed every day and sometimes when I've done more than 'allowed' by my condition, I need a total of 10 hrs within a 12 hour period. It is better than mega pain pill usage. 🙃
