  • We’re excited to share the opening of a special exhibit on January 15 in the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum: “From Script to Scripture: The History of the Bible.” To find out more and plan your visit, go to sau.is/archaeology.
This new exhibit-never before displayed publicly-will feature rare, original Bibles including a copy of the 1611 King James Version, the Vulgate, and a translation by Martin Luther. The exhibit will explore the history of the alphabet, the transition from scrolls to books, and the role of the written word-particularly the Bible-during the period of the Reformation and beyond.
In this video, the museum’s curator, Michael G. Hasel, PhD, previews a first edition King James Version Bible, which will be on display. It was published in England in 1611 and is one of only 160 complete first edition King James Version Bibles available today.

Many people tell me that the early Modern English in the Authorized Version is a hindrance. I tell them that if they allow that to be a stumbling block, then they're going to have a real hard time grasping the theology in scripture.

    KJVAV1611 > All other Bibles
Fact: If the new versions were designed intentionally to make it “Easier” to understand the Bible, then why did they...
    •remove so many verses (100-200+)
•give Satan, the Title that was given to Jesus
•call Joseph, to be the Father of Jesus
The Answer: They wanted to © Copyright their own “words” for the money.
    Psalms 12:7
“Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

      1. The verses and words you mention were mostly added later, not deleted. The KJV adopts readings that are not found in majority Byzantine manuscripts, but only in the Sinaiticus and Vaticanus. e.g. 1 John 2:23
      2. The original text reads helel, which means morning star. The KJV1611 translators also added a footnote to the word Lucifer in Isaiah 14:12 and wrote "daystar". There's no big conspiracy here.
      3. Why then does the KJV translate Joseph and Mary as Jesus' "parents"? (Luke 2:27)
Everyone knows that Joseph was Jesus' 'legal' father, not His biological father. There is no great conspiracy here.
      4. The KJV1611 footnote in Psalm 12:7 shows that "them" is not the words, but the righteous people who are the subject of Psalm 12. Throughout the Psalm, the object of being preserved is people, and not once is it said that the words are preserved. You are quoting the verse out of context.
Do some more research. When you have already made up your mind and selectively accept information, you are only brainwashing yourself to reinforce your beliefs.

I want to clarify, this is not to come across as aggressive.
      1. "Mostly added later" does not mean entirely, and is based on assumption. "not found in majority byzantine manuscripts", if so, this does not mean certain words do or do not belong there or here.
      2. "The original text". No one has proven to have the original text of any ancient text. To use phrases such as "original", is dishonest.
      3. Joseph is not the Father of Jesus, however, he is the parent in the sense of law. Mary is the mother of Jesus, and is the parent in the sense of law and literal or biologically.
      4. This is to assume we have the original text to compare to, yet we do not. This goes both ways regarding assumption or faith of what the word should be.

Do you have any provable, fact-based evidence of anything spiritual in the bible?
And by "evidence" I mean, NOT any hearsay, feelings, faith, beliefs, hopes, coincidences or bible stories written by man.

This my second post, someone doesn’t like the truth, or wants anyone else to know either! The Hebrew of OT, and the Greek of the NT are mathematical languages in their nature. It is mathematically impossible for anyone to have written any part of the Bible apart from God! In the same fashion, to show you that God did inspire the translation of the KJB. There is a video that shows how the KJB is mathematically perfect. I will post it separately when you respond since someone doesn’t like the truth!

@@claytonsmith6148 I' have noticed that many can find within the Bible anything they look for - whether based on numerology or paranoia. Of course God is instrumental in writers' pursuit - obviously inspirational but I suppose -as usual- there is no fact-based evidence to add to the mix. Sadly, the simple query that I asked for has never been answered.

      Lol
That poor exegesis of Matthew 23:9 has been refuted a million times. Even when I was Protestant, I never believed your poor interpret.
      Paul calls himself a father
1 Corinthians 4:14-15 (D-R): I write not these things to confound you: but I admonish you as my dearest children.
15 For if you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, by the gospel, I have begotten you.
Calling Timothy his son so he is calling himself Timothy's father
1 Timothy 1:2 (D-R): To Timothy, his beloved son in faith.
Paul ordained priests so he was a bishop
Titus 1:5 (D-R): For this cause I left thee in Crete: that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting and shouldest ordain priests in every city, as I also appointed thee:

      That's another you MISINTERPRET.
Scripture is clear. Authority rests with the Church not some book that the Church compiled. You follow a book with your interpretation and I follow Jesus Christ and His interpretation. So I'm good. Those who go deep in Scripture and history become Catholic. Thousands of former Protestant ministers have converted to Catholicism, some were biblical scholars. Without the Catholic Church, it's just one person's opinion against another. And we know what Jesus said to do. Matthew 18:17 to listen to the Church.
