- Hey Guys and Gals!
In this video Ash, Christian and I tackle the hardcore track Ho Chi Minh at Glasshouse Mountains Forestry.
Ash has just finished converting his hilux from the 2.7l petrol to a V8 1UZ, this think is a beast! Heaps of power and torque right when he needs it! It sounds great too!
Christian's VDJ76 Is on Mark's adapter portal axles which give it a huge 6 inches of extra clearance under the diffs! This cruiser is a weapon. Paired with 35" Micky Thompson Claws it goes anywhere with ease!
My HZJ80 series is running a 2-3inch lift kit with 265/75r16 KM2 mud tyres which are standard size for the 80's. Also running a safari turbo kit and straight through exhaust with resonator.
This track was challenging from the start with a few big descents and then right into a big mud hole. I didn't have quite enough clearance to get through this one but the other guys got through with no dramas!
After we got past the mud hole and another hill climb it started pouring down rain for about half an hour. The track ahead was steep and clay based and badly washed away in sections. We all decided it would be best to turn around and try again another day when it was dryer.

Its a custom exhaust with a butterfly valve to make it loud or quiet. Sounds great doesnt it!
@@LowRangeNick Sounds amazing!

Hey Lindsay, alot of the work on my hilux was done at a shop I'd rather not mention. Alot of the work needs to be re-done and I'm planning on doing it myself this time.

@@LowRangeNick thanks mate
Hey mate would LOVE to know if the luxy has a lift in it? I have a 2001 3LD Hilux I can't find a lift kit for it.
Cheers
It has a 2 inch body lift and torsion bars wound up a bit to level it out. With Aftermarket shocks.
LowRangeNick thanks heaps for that. Sorry to be a pain but do you know what shocks he used?
LowRangeNick and what sizes tires? Cheers
@@soundslikeaplan841 It is running 285/75r16 muddies and im not sure of the shocks sorry.
LowRangeNick thanks mate 👍
hey could the lc76 v8 turbo engine fit in my hilux my hilux is 2.8l diesel 4×4
Anything can fit if you have lots of money! But i dont think it would fit easily. The vdj engine is pretty big compared to the hilux engine. In saying that ash has fitted a 1uz v8 petrol. So it may be possible! 😁
@@LowRangeNick okay what is the price for a lc76 land cruiser v8 turbo diesel
@@belgianmalinoisrottweilier7876 For just the engine about 15k then you need to computers, wiring loom, spedo, gearbox etc. better off buying a wrecked one and taking all the bits out of it. would probably cost you 30k in parts then all the labour to install if it even fits :P
Where exactly is this track?
Near Hochimin Track.
@@LowRangeNick and where is that?
@@gleneaton8914 Off beerburrum woodford road, at top of the mountain bike track hill. Turn down there then there's a track at the bottom of the hill on the right that leads into that area.
@@LowRangeNick ok cool thanks mate
