HOW TO GET TO KHAO YAI
Driving is the most practical way to reach Khao Yai, as public transportation is very limited or nonexistent. Renting a car is highly convenient for exploring the national park, visiting various restaurants and cafes, and reaching attractions such as wineries and farms. Furthermore, the new highway (M6) makes it easier and faster than before to reach Khao Yai from Bangkok.
Alternatively, some hotels may offer to arrange private transportation for your group. While this option can be more expensive per person compared to driving yourself, it’s worth considering if you’re unfamiliar with driving in Thailand.
INSECTS
Since Khao Yai is a nature reserve, you’ll encounter insects no matter where you stay. While most are harmless, some can be venomous.
The simplest solution is to purchase a local insect repellent, which is readily available in convenience stores and malls. You can also request it from the hotel, but it is recommended to buy one, as you will likely need it when leaving your accommodation for excursions.
