What I'd like to see is how temperature affects the glows. Does the glow dim faster in colder temperatures, and are there any differences between plastics?
Iv always said this would be a better experiment for a college student to do a project on. Definitely good questions that my hobby self does not have the time to answer 😆
Great comparison. There's also a new Proto Champion Glow. It's translucent like the Halloween Gorgon, but the glow seems closer to the Whale in terms of brightness and longevity. It also has a slightly different color. Would be cool to see how they compare.
So I don’t personally throw it, but maybe an interesting disc to use next year is the Golem from Divergent. I know a few people who like it as their super beefy approach slot and they say it glows great. I mainly throw MVP and Innova and it’s def been cool to see Innova finally catch up. My color glow stuff from them is always a bit sketchy to throw at night so the Proto Glow has been a huge improvement. As always good video and I look forward to you doing more disc reviews in the future, I enjoy those!
Those proto glows can be great, but really depends on the plastic and color combo. I have one that is amazing and does rival MVP like shown, but the other is trash at getting bright and staying lit.
I had the first run proto glow XD and now these two, all performed well with my test. Will be interesting to see if they ever go with a stock run and how that stacks up!
@@TKDiscGolf I have a tour series white star Rollo that aligns with your testing imo, but my tour series orange star Valkyrie doesn't get as bright or last as long. Not sure when those were run though. Interesting your orange one preformed fine.
@jeremydoyle269 I have a purplish Moondust Proto Glow Roc that also doesn't get very bright. It holds the dim glow for a decent while tho. Mebbe Moondust + Proto just don't mix well.
I featured them in the 2022 and 2023 videos, had to buy them out of my own pocket. I did not hear any word of improvements from them this year or changes so I did not spend my money. That is a brand Daddy Disc Golf does not carry, other wise I’d have thrown one in the cart. They do have solid glow, I would have to look back at the numbers, but I would put it on par with where Discmania is currently at from memory. It’s good, but not MVP or the new Innova level.
Great video! Thank you all for doing the work on this. #Science

Thank you for doing this, Taylor! Really enjoy watching these and learning about the glow discs and how they compare.
Thanks for another awesome glow review! Always good to see.

Many thanks for the test!
One of my favorite videos to make every year!

Best in the game!
no doubt!

what do you mean Proto green?
Innova has the two proto color blends, green and then the orange.
No lone star mention or lone star glow plastic to compare? 😢

So no RPM then... I find RPM's initial glow similar to MVP but fades a little quicker.
Mainly stick to the major brands. Hopefully next year I can put some more effort into acquiring more of the secondary brands.
Hahaha of course Prodigy would be the worst by far
