I have question... that cow horn is used for mandibular root extraction ... nd u r describing that it is for the removal of maxillary root.... nd bayonet is use for maxillary root .... pls clear this doubt
yup @sweet angel cow horn is used for mandibular root extraction, datz why they are pointed.dere iz another forceps called SPLIT BEAK forceps ,also called maxillary cowhorn forceps which iz used for maxillary root extraction and here the split beak is engaged at the palatal root and pointed beak iz engaged between the 2 buccal roots. and Thanks Dr. Heena fr d video :)

but i think -maybe i am wrong - the cow horn y used for upper teeth supposed to be into the right of the patient not the left becoz of the peak ..thanks again
nary alaga the beak should be on buccal side because it will be placed in between the two buccal roots. So if the beak is towards the right side (of you) it will be used to extract the left tooth of the patient i.e second quadrant.

Thank you! what is the clinician clock positions for the extraction- As far as I know, all from in front of the patient at 8 position, while at 11 for the lower right quadrant and in that case when you demonstrate the mandible support, then you should stand behind the typodont and not infront of it, isnt it? Regards

Mam you said, maxillary molar has 3 roots, mesio buccal distobuccal and palatal,
Then why cow horn forcep, single beak is placed buccally ??
Becoz single beak will engage b/w the two roots..
